Leo spoke politely.

No matter whom he faced, Leo tried to show them his courteous side.

Perhaps not everyone liked polite people.

But most people disliked those who were rude.

Wizard Pella said, "Wizard Leo, although you and I don't belong to the same gathering, the rule in my lab is that ability speaks for itself."

"Fia brought you here, so from now on, you'll be helping her side."

"Pella Research Lab is divided into six teams. Fia is on the third."

"Each team is generally assigned five people. As the head of the lab, I don't join any team. I only oversee the work."

"How you perform on the third team will directly determine your final share of the returns."

At that, Leo grew thoughtful.

Like Andre Research Lab, Pella Research Lab had competition between its teams. Perhaps this was how research labs generally operated.

Unlike Andre Research Lab, however, Pella did not join any team despite being its head.

That might also be why Pella could treat Wizards from different gatherings within the lab fairly.

After all, she did not have to compete with those teams, so there was no conflict of interest.

Pella said, "Fia will tell you the rest. I look forward to seeing what you can do."

Fia led Leo away.

Leo raised an eyebrow. "Don't tell me our team is last."

Fia blinked. "A little better than that."

"Second to last?"
