Leo spoke in a gentle tone.
If the long trail of blood left by the sword formed from his Arcane Hand had not been so clearly visible, he might have seemed like an easygoing man.
But as the Wizard Apprentices present saw him and heard him speak, they felt nothing but fear and dread.
Sephir lowered his head, not daring to defy Leo.
In that moment, all his pride as a genius vanished.
Before Leo, he was like a newborn infant.
Even so, Sephir was screaming inside:
Wizard Nova was wrong after all!
A powerful Wizard doesn't need to master all kinds of spells and abilities. Overwhelming strength can break through anything. By specializing in one kind of spell, I can become as powerful as Leo.
At that thought, Sephir slowly raised his head and stared at Leo's back. Leo, you've beaten me again. But I've found the right path. The next time we meet, I'll show you a genius isn't so easily trampled!
No one knew what was going through Sephir's mind.
Even if they had, most Wizards would have thought nothing of it.
Wizards tended to be at least a little obsessive.
Especially when it came to their own research.
When another Wizard proposed an idea that conflicted with their research, some Wizards would stubbornly insist the other person was wrong—even if that person was a widely recognized genius.
When it came to stubbornly refusing to admit defeat, Kyle had it down to an art.
Leo turned back to Kyle. "Wizard Kyle, I may have won this battle, but you showed me the power of Necromancy. I doubt any Wizard here besides me could defeat you."
"I happen to have some interest in Necromancy. Could you clear up a few questions I have about its spells?"
"P-please ask,"
