The Battle Lines Were Clear

Leo heard the notification in his mind, but his expression did not change.

As Leo continued his studies, his knowledge of wizardry grew steadily deeper.

So it was no longer surprising that he could unlock a spell entry in the Codex through conversation alone.

What did surprise him was that he had managed to grasp a Combination Spell.

Can I actually cast the Combination Spell I've learned? Could I even incorporate it into my Spell Pyramid?

After that thought passed through his mind, Leo asked, "Wizard Kyle, did you kill these Wizards inside the Tower of Dawn?"

"Yes," Kyle said.

Leo was about to ask more.

But a Wizard suddenly plummeted from the sky and slammed into the deck.

At the sight of him, the Wizard Apprentices aboard the ship looked shocked and worried.

"Is that Wizard Tuo Li? Was he defeated?"

"I'm not sure, but he's in bad shape."

Tuo Li lay on the deck, his right hand twisted out of shape.

High above them.

Wizard Brock looked at Wizard Rayne, fear flashing across his face.

"Rayne, I never expected you to become a One-Ring Crystallized Wizard."

Rayne said evenly, "The Tower of Dawn must have assumed that once we left, we'd be like ordinary wandering Wizards. Without the right environment for studying spells, we'd struggle to make any real progress."

"But unfortunately for you, that environment was exactly what brought out the Prossians' talents. By making an enemy of a colossus like the Tower of Dawn, we developed our distinctive mental traits to their fullest. We've grown a great deal since we first left."

Rayne said, "Wizard Brock, Wizard Tuo Li has fallen. You're next."

As he spoke, nine faint spheres of energy appeared before him, stacking into the outline of a pyramid.

This was Rayne's Spell Pyramid.
