Leo pondered for a moment.
A spell was a process in which a medium reacted with spiritual energy.
This falling force was quite wondrous.
Like Arcane Hand, Leo had not figured out what medium his spiritual energy was reacting with to produce this falling force.
At first, Leo had thought it was the "stone" or the "coin" he used.
But when he cast the spell just now, he had clearly realized that was not the case.
The coin itself had not increased in mass; only its falling speed had increased.
Overall, though it could be considered a spell, Leo felt it had little value.
Leo picked up the coin and cast Falling Pebble one last time.
This time, he wanted to test the changes in this spell after mastering the inferior-quality codex.
But just then, the door was suddenly pushed open.
Leo had not expected someone to enter directly without knocking.
The spell in Leo's hand was still being cast. The coin suddenly plummeted, blasting through the wooden planks and falling below.
Leo then looked toward the doorway and discovered that the visitor was actually Fula, wearing a clown mask.
"Greetings, Wizard Fula. May I ask what you need from me?"
Fula stood in the doorway, her tone peculiar. "Did you look at my research data just now? When you threw that metal piece earlier, it looked very much like the spell I'm currently researching."
Rather than a question, it sounded more like a statement of certainty.
After giving it some thought, Leo decided to play dumb.
"My apologies, Wizard Fula, but I don't know what you mean. I merely tried throwing the coin downward with my enhanced body."
Glancing at something once and then perfecting the spell, turning a failed product into a success—such a thing absolutely could not be exposed.
Fula stared at Leo. Seeing that he insisted on this explanation, she said, "No matter where you learned this spell, you'd best not cast it casually in front of Wizards from the Tower of Dawn."
"This spell can be mastered by anyone in the Tower of Dawn, except Prossians."
Hearing this, confusion appeared on Leo's face as he was about to say something.
But Fula spoke first. "All right, Nova asked me to tell you that we're preparing to leave."
After saying that, Fula turned and left.
Leo hurriedly followed.
When Leo reached the deck,
Nova and Kamon were standing at the bow.
Seeing Leo, Nova gave a slight nod. "Danville, we're leaving. I hope that by the next time I see you, you'll have already become a Wizard."
Then, a pair of wings appeared on either side of Nova's shoes.
Fula and Kamon were also carried into the air by the same spell Nova cast.
Floating in the air, Nova waved at Leo.
Fula discreetly swept her gaze over Leo. Recalling the Falling Pebble he had cast earlier, she began to truly take notice of him for the first time.
Leo's aptitude for comprehending spells was clearly extremely high. Even if he did not understand the principles behind Falling Pebble, he could still cast it.
That was intuition beyond ordinary people.
Fula looked at Leo thoughtfully.
Fula said, "Nova, I can't help feeling that you care more about this Wizard Seedling than you do about some of your own students."
Nova replied, "I won't deny that. But it has nothing to do with anything else. My temperament simply meshes well with Danville's. I've always felt an affinity with people who enjoy reading."
Fula nodded. "I also feel quite an affinity with him."
After Fula said that, both Nova and Kamon looked at her in surprise.
Kamon in particular looked at his two friends. For the first time, he began to take Leo seriously. He had not expected both Nova and Fula to have such favorable impressions of Leo.
The affinity they spoke of was anything but simple.
When Nova said he liked people who read, he did not mean those who merely flipped through books. One had to truly immerse oneself in them to earn Nova's recognition in that regard.
As for Fula, there was even less need to say it. She possessed the qualifications to become a teaching assistant, yet she remained a researcher because she had no interest in teaching Wizard Seedlings. This was also the first time she had shown interest in a Wizard Seedling.
Kamon said, "Haha, he'll become a Wizard soon enough anyway. Perhaps later, we'll even receive his application in our laboratory."
After that, the three vanished from before Leo's eyes.
Leo watched the direction in which they had left.
It was a stretch of sea where the water bore a deeper crimson hue.
There, countless dangerous sea monsters lurked.
Unless one was a powerful Wizard like Nova and the others, a weak Wizard would only be swallowed whole by danger in those waters.
The Crimson Sea was still far too dangerous for Leo.
At the bow, Aifel watched the three Wizards depart and said, "We're heading back."
A shadow unlike before hung over Knight Aifel's face.
Two Knights had died.
Although the remaining four Knights had returned to normal, it had cost four hundred Magic Stones.
And the Mandrake Siren at the root of it all had yet to be dealt with.
Aifel still had not figured out where they had heard the Mandrake Sirens' song.
If that root problem remained unresolved, then next time, in the same circumstances, other Knights might be disturbed by the same song.
The Knights' predicament did not affect Leo. He returned to his room.
After getting sufficient rest, Leo's mental state had completely recovered.
Leo took out the Dawn Arcane Potion. Looking at the vial in his hand, he fell into thought.
Leo's spiritual power talent had never actually changed. He had merely increased the efficiency of his meditation method, thereby accelerating the acquisition of spiritual energy.
Thus, although Leo's spiritual energy grew faster than that of a level-five spiritual power genius, his spiritual power talent was still level three, perhaps even level two.
"Perhaps that's also why it was so difficult when I condensed my Spiritual Seed just now."
Thinking of this, Leo's expression turned solemn. He then opened the bottle of Dawn Arcane Potion and drank it in one gulp.
Morning.
Leo stood on the deck, facing the sea breeze. The aura around him had become utterly different.
He had successfully advanced.
He was now a Wizard.
Among this batch of Wizard Seedlings, he was likely the fastest to become a Wizard apart from those with level-six spiritual power talent. Even those few Wizard Seedlings with level-five spiritual power had probably not advanced yet.
The cultivation speed of the ordinary-quality Basic Meditation Method Codex, while still inferior to level-six spiritual power talent, had already far surpassed level-five spiritual power talent.
Most of the Knights did not notice Leo's change. They merely felt that the pressure emanating from him had become heavier.
However, some did notice.
Aifel and Kairila walked side by side, seeming to discuss something.
Yet upon seeing Leo at the bow, their gazes instinctively focused on him.
At that moment, Leo unconsciously emanated a faint aura that made their hair stand on end.
They had only experienced such an aura from one kind of person.
A Wizard!
"Wizard Danville, have you successfully advanced to become a Wizard?"
Aifel asked uncertainly.
