A Sudden Change on the Ship

Leo nodded.

Leo's confirmation instantly changed Aifel and Kairila's expressions. They respectfully said to Leo, "Lord Wizard Leo, congratulations."

"Lord Wizard Danville, congratulations."

Kairila's attitude became even more respectful.

Even before becoming a Wizard, Leo had already possessed such combat power.

Now that Leo had become a Wizard, dealing with all the Knights on their entire ship would probably be effortless.

Before a Wizard, even Grand Knights like them had no chance of victory whatsoever.

Leo merely smiled and let the Knights' attitude pass.

When Hughes saw Leo, he also noticed the changes in him.

"Leo, congratulations."

Hughes's face was full of envy.

Hughes's mental energy was only at 6 points now. He was still some distance away from becoming a Wizard.

As Hughes walked toward Leo, he suddenly stopped. With an embarrassed, sheepish smile, he said, "Sorry, Leo. There's an aura around you now that makes me feel very uncomfortable. Let's keep this distance."

Leo shot him a sidelong glance but said nothing.

After becoming a Wizard, Leo unconsciously released Mental Radiation. Though it was extremely weak and posed no threat to a Wizard Seedling's life, it still made people feel uncomfortable and ill at ease.

Of course, Leo could consciously restrain this Mental Radiation, but he needed some time to get used to his state after advancing.

The Knights' warship would return to the Tower of Dawn that afternoon.

Leo returned to his room and continued cultivating his Meditation Method.

After becoming a Wizard, Leo clearly felt that his meditation efficiency had improved.

This improvement in meditation efficiency had nothing to do with the Intermediate Meditation Method. It was something that had appeared after Leo became a Wizard.

Since it was not a bad thing, Leo merely felt surprised for a moment before continuing his cultivation of the Intermediate Meditation Method.

At noon, Leo stepped out onto the deck and discovered another ship beside the warship.

Judging from its appearance, it was also a Knight ship.

Kairila and more than a dozen Knights were currently crossing a plank to board the other ship.

When Aifel saw Leo, he respectfully said, "Greetings, Lord Wizard Leo."

Leo asked, "Is this ship also one of your Knight Order's vessels?"

"Yes, Lord Wizard Leo," Aifel answered respectfully. "But it belongs to another squad. They intend to subjugate a powerful sea monster and are short-handed, so Kairila is taking some people to assist them."

Leo looked over the people boarding the ship and discovered that the three Ordinary Knights who owed one hundred Magic Stones had all gone with Kairila.

Perhaps they might obtain some Magic Stones during this sea monster subjugation as well.

But that was the Knights' business and had nothing to do with Leo.

Leo asked, "Will this affect our voyage?"

"No. Our ship will still return to the Tower of Dawn."

Hearing that, Leo stopped paying attention to the matter.

Leo returned to his room. This time, instead of cultivating his Meditation Method, he took out a Stone Sea Dragon scale.

Then Leo removed his shirt.

The techniques related to Basic Magitech Studies surfaced in Leo's mind.

He wanted to try and see whether he could fuse this dragon scale into his shirt and create a defensive magitech item.

Leo entered the learning state of the Basic Magitech Studies Codex.

"Mastered inferior-quality Basic Magitech Studies Codex. Obtained 10 Refinement Points."

After a long while, Leo put his shirt back on and stored away the Stone Sea Dragon scale.

He stroked his chin.

This attempt had not been entirely fruitless, but using a dragon scale for his first magitech item was clearly still far too difficult.

For magitech items involving things from a dragon's body, Leo felt that he might need to come into contact with the Advanced Magitech Studies Codex before he could possibly make one.

Moreover, it was clearly impossible to make it using only the shirt Leo wore as material.

Higher-grade materials were needed.

The Stone Sea Dragon scale needed to be paired with more advanced materials before it could react with mental energy.

Leo rose and left his room, intending to ask Knight Aifel how far they still were from the Tower of Dawn.

But when he reached the deck, a sharp gleam flashed through Leo's eyes.

The surrounding sea was filled with broad stretches of pale-red seawater shimmering with light.

This was something that only appeared when approaching the Crimson Sea.

Yet they were clearly heading back to the Tower of Dawn.

Why were they instead gradually entering the Crimson Sea's boundaries?

"Something's wrong. These Knights seem to be..."

At that moment, Leo noticed that the Knights on deck all had vacant eyes, just like John and the other six Knights yesterday.

Though they had not yet gone mad, they had clearly fallen under the Siren's control.

A sense of foreboding rose in Leo's heart.

Leo took out the Rainbow Dragon scale, but it sensed no hostility from these people.

Thinking of this, Leo went to Hughes's room and pounded hard on the door.

"Hughes!"

Hughes opened the door and yawned. "I just woke up. What is it?"

Seeing that Hughes had not become like that, Leo immediately sighed in relief. Then his face quickly darkened as he said, "Hughes, this is bad. The Knights on this ship seem to have been infected by the Siren's song again. The ship is now sailing toward the Crimson Sea."

When Hughes heard this, his face turned frantic with fear. "We're done for. What should we do? Leo, even if we kill them now, we won't know how to sail the ship back!"

Leo pondered briefly. "Subdue the Knights first."

Hughes said uneasily, "We can only try that."

The two left the cabin together and headed toward the helm.

But accompanied by the sound of footsteps, the Knights surrounded them.

These Knights drooled from their mouths, their eyes hollow as meaningless mutters spilled from their lips.

Aifel, the Grand Knight, was among them.

Leo ran his fingertip over the Rainbow Dragon scale. This time, the scale reacted with a sense of hostility toward these Knights.

Leo's gaze fell upon Aifel.

His mouth hung open, his eyes clouded as saliva dripped from his lips.

Seeing that Aifel had become like this as well, Leo immediately came to a judgment. He said, "Hughes, protect yourself. Don't hold back. If even a Grand Knight has become like this, then the other Knights are even less likely to return to normal."

"Without Wizard Nova here, we have no way to restore them."

"I understand." Hughes nodded, and a shield formed by Arcane Hand appeared in his hand.

He knew his own capabilities. When facing Knights, he could only protect himself as best he could and avoid becoming a burden to Leo.

Leo cast Arcane Hand, sending a huge net spreading toward the Knights.

The Knights seemed to know the net was dangerous and dodged with remarkable agility.

Seeing this, Leo cast Arcane Hand once more.

After becoming a Wizard, Leo's greatest improvement was the drastic reduction in the consumption of casting spells.

The mental energy provided by the Spiritual Seed was far purer.

If Leo's original spellcasting consumption had been 10, then after becoming a Wizard, the consumption for his spells was 1, or even less.

Leo could now cast spells far more times than before.

Grand Knight Aifel charged toward Leo.

Leo gripped the greatsword formed by Arcane Hand in one hand and swung it at them.

Aifel drew his weapon.

Leo cast Basic Body Fortification.

Then Leo swept his sword sideways, shattering Aifel's weapon.
