Knight Puppet Spell

The Wizard profession examination was divided into two parts: on-the-spot assessment and performance evaluation.

The on-the-spot assessment tested the basics, and most Wizards could earn fairly good scores in this category.

The performance evaluation examined a Wizard's improvements and innovations, which were the main scoring criteria for the Wizard profession.

The sample answers Sally had given him chiefly recorded improvements and innovations, including both positive and negative cases.

There were no right or wrong answers, only high or low scores.

The low-scoring negative cases were those with very little value.

For instance, there was a potion called White Tiger Depilatory Cream. After use, it could quickly remove the hair from the area where it was applied.

A potion so utterly useless it beggared belief was still considered an innovation, but it was a low-scoring negative case.

There were also potions that originally caused frequent urination for a few days after being consumed, but after improvement, caused coughing for a few days instead, even though the effects of the two potions were otherwise identical.

Such improved potions were likewise low-scoring negative cases.

Professional examinations did not merely demand innovation and improvement; they also required practical value.

Of course, where there were bad examples, there were naturally good ones as well. Some good examples were failures too, yet still held reference value.

Even Leo felt that he had gained a great deal from reading them.

Just then, a gentle notification interrupted Leo's thoughts.

"Low-quality Finlig Magical Pressure Potion (Improved) Codex discovered. Record it?"

A thoughtful expression appeared on Leo's face.

If these failed cases could become Codices, did that mean he could use them as formulas for his own innovation and potion improvement efforts?

The thought made Leo somewhat excited.

After all, the greatest difficulty of the professional Wizard examination lay in improvement and creation.

Improvement and creation required vast accumulations of time, as well as luck and inspiration.

If he could obtain them through the Compendium Manual, it would be of enormous help to Leo's Wizard profession examination.

Leo's gaze swept over the examination questions for the three Wizard professions.

Although Potion Wizard, Arcane Botany Wizard, and Combat Wizard were all three directions he was considering studying, he still had his priorities.

Potion Wizard and Combat Wizard came first; Arcane Botany Wizard could be considered later.

Arcane Botany Wizards needed time before they could produce results, so there was no need to rush.

Potion Wizards, meanwhile, had the Compendium Manual and could produce results the fastest.

And Combat Wizards went without saying. In this dangerous world, the ability to protect oneself was what he needed most.

Below the materials lay a white translucent card and a note.

The note explained the card's purpose.

"Remote Spell Classes."

Through this card, one could directly connect to every course offered by the Tower of Dawn.

These courses were jointly conducted by all Wizards of the Tower of Dawn, including courses taught by Formal Wizards. Every course required a fixed number of Magic Stones to access.

Every Wizard of the Tower of Dawn was entitled to courses totaling 20 Magic Stones per month. Courses exceeding 20 Magic Stones required additional Magic Stones.

Leo took out the card and poured spiritual energy into it.

The card refracted a screen of light. Within it were what looked like portraits of the Wizards themselves, each marked with the corresponding course content and Magic Stone price.

There was also a searchable search bar at the top.

After thinking for a moment, Leo entered Battle Mage and searched.

Soon, one spell after another appeared.

Basic Body Fortification Spell, Basic Cell Vitality Enhancement Spell...

Battle Mage spells were all simple spells that strengthened the body.

Yet the courses for each spell were exceptionally expensive, with the cheapest costing 20 Magic Stones and the most expensive reaching as high as 50 Magic Stones.

Leo then tried searching for Wing Spell, and matching images quickly appeared.

One of them was unmistakably Nova himself.

One of Nova's classes was worth 100 Magic Stones.

The other Wizards teaching the same spell were much cheaper, costing only around 50 Magic Stones.

Leo pondered briefly. He did not choose that spell course, instead continuing his search.

This time, Leo selected spells related to knights.

The result brought up a great many Battle Mage spells.

Leo roughly scanned through the spells, and then one of them caught his attention.

"Knight Puppet Spell."

This spell did not belong to the Battle Mage system.

Its core principle was to separate a portion of one's own flesh and blood. This flesh and blood served as a medium, reacting through spiritual energy to form a Flesh Puppet.

The special aspect of this Flesh Puppet was that it could undergo knight training.

As a Prossian, Leo was naturally endowed with an exceptional body. Combined with training in the Knight Breathing Technique, he was likely already close to the level of a Battle Mage.

Yet there was another reason the Knight Puppet Spell attracted Leo: it could create more than one Flesh Puppet.

When the time came, a dozen or twenty Flesh Puppets with Battle Mage-level strength could appear alongside the spell. Their combat capability would be quite considerable.

Moreover, as consumables, these Flesh Puppets could also be used to probe the spell methods of other Wizards.

This spell did not require many Magic Stones either. It only cost 10 Magic Stones per month.

However, this spell was probably rather niche. Only a dozen or so people had selected the course, whereas Nova's courses had no fewer than a thousand students each.

Each course lasted one hour. One could enroll in up to three courses at once, and could cancel them at any time to choose other courses.

Leo began considering his next course. His fingertip slid, and the Prismatic Dragon Scale slipped to the tip of his finger.

The Prismatic Dragon Scale Leo had obtained on this voyage had made him somewhat more interested in these dragon creatures, which had now vanished from the Twin Continents.

This time, Leo searched using dragon as the core term.

A vast number of dragon-related spells appeared.

These spells basically came from one Wizard profession: Bloodline Mage.

Bloodline Mages were Wizards who integrated the Bloodline Abilities of magical creatures into their own spells.

This integration was not learning, but bloodline transplantation and bodily modification.

Leo looked from the highest Magic Stone cost down to the lowest.

However, the Wizard course with both the highest Magic Stone cost and the greatest number of readers caught Leo's attention.

"Dragon Blood Purification Spell."

This was a spell that continuously purified the Dragonblood Lineage transplanted into one's body, thereby obtaining a bloodline closer to the True Dragon Bloodline.

This spell had the same underlying principle as the final potion in the Grand Compendium of Potions that Leo had previously obtained, the Dragon Blood Purification Potion.

Coincidentally, the Wizard who had released this spell was also a Formal Wizard.

Leo did not select this spell as a course. After all, he did not even possess a Dragonblood Lineage; considering purification now would be sheer wishful thinking.

After some thought, Leo restricted the search to Rainbow Dragon.

There was not a single Wizard course regarding the Rainbow Dragon bloodline.

Leo was somewhat disappointed.

Since bloodline modification involved altering one's own body and carried considerable risks, after discovering that he could not find the Rainbow Dragon bloodline modification he wanted, he temporarily gave up on this category of spell courses.

Leo then searched for Arcane Botany Wizard courses.

He then settled on two fairly good spell courses.

One was the Pumpkin Carriage Spell, and the other was the Potato Mine Spell.
