Two Spells, Why Aren't You Buying Anything?

The Pumpkin Carriage, like Bird Wings, was also a flying spell.

The Potato Mine embedded explosive potato mines into flat surfaces. Once triggered, they would explode within a certain range.

Both courses fell within the scope of Combat Wizards. Each cost 15 Magic Stones and belonged to the neither obscure nor popular category.

Including the Knight Puppet Spell, Leo's additional monthly expenditure on spell courses came to 30 Magic Stones.

After choosing his spell courses, Leo temporarily put away the cards and began considering the Potion Wizard side of things:

There are as many as thirty-six formulas for Starter Potions in Basic Potionology. If I can raise the quality of the Starter Potion compendium to superior or even perfect, then the practical assessment for Potion Wizards definitely won't be a problem.

But to brew potions, tools are naturally indispensable.

Previously, Leo had not had any Magic Stones, so he could only borrow the potion-making tools in the teaching room.

But the teaching room could not possibly be open to Leo around the clock. It was only available during class hours, so even if Leo wanted to brew potions, it was very troublesome.

Now, however, Leo had Magic Stones. He could buy his own potion-making tools and freely arrange his time to brew potions in his own room.

Leo first made a list of what he needed to buy. Then he took his Magic Stones and the inferior-quality Withered Wood Potion he had brewed earlier and headed to the Woodpecker Hut.

Outside the Woodpecker Hut, Leo ran into a familiar figure.

"Hughes."

"Leo."

With a smile on his face, Hughes warmly said, "Are you also here to prepare materials for your subject? My subject is Potionology, and I came here to buy some Potionology herbs."

Leo nodded. "My subject is Potionology too."

Hughes said, "Then let's go in together."

"Alright," Leo said.

The two entered the Woodpecker Hut together. When the elf in charge of reception saw them come in, she greeted them with a professional smile. "Welcome, esteemed Wizards."

Then the elf's gaze settled on Leo, and her eyes lit up. "Wizard Leo, congratulations on becoming a true Wizard."

Leo said in surprise, "You can actually tell?"

The elf smiled. "We deal with Wizards often. Over time, we have developed a rather unique eye for such things."

Leo gave a slight nod, then quietly examined the elf.

After becoming a Wizard, he noticed something different when he looked at the elf again.

He had already seen before that she possessed mental energy.

But now that he was a Wizard, Leo noticed a more subtle detail: the elf's mental energy was vastly different from a Wizard's mental energy.

In terms of type, it was closer to that of a knight.

Leo guessed that the elf might not be a Wizard, but she was likely some kind of profession related to mental energy.

Leo took out the Withered Wood Potion he had prepared for sale and asked, "Miss Clerk, I brewed a bottle of Withered Wood Potion. May I sell it here?"

Hughes, beside him, also said, "I have a potion I'd like to sell here as well."

The elf smiled and asked, "May I have a look at both esteemed Wizards' potions?"

"Of course."

Leo took out the Withered Wood Potion he had brewed.

After examining it carefully, the elf shook her head. "I'm sorry, Wizard Leo. This is an inferior-quality potion. The rule of our Woodpecker Hut is that we only sell potions of ordinary quality or above."

"Alright."

"If you brew potions of ordinary quality or above in the future, you are welcome to sell them here. We will offer a very fair purchase price."

After saying that, the elf looked at Hughes.

Hughes looked awkward. "I suddenly remembered that I forgot to bring my potion. Maybe next time, maybe next time."

In truth, Hughes had also brought a Starter Potion he had brewed himself. It was a Basic Recovery Potion, but it too was of inferior quality.

Seeing that Hughes had no intention of taking it out, the elf turned to Leo again and said:

"Wizard Leo, I have a proposal regarding this bottle of Withered Wood Potion. If you do not intend to use it yourself, you may consider selling it to the Glory Hut. The Glory Hut is a Potionology shop catering to knights. As long as something is useful to knights, they are willing to accept it, even if it is an inferior-quality potion."

Leo's eyes lit up. "Could you tell me the exact location of the Glory Hut?"

The elf took out a map. "Wizard Leo, I have a map here that records the locations of various shops and important places in the Tower of Dawn. For just one Magic Stone, you can know the Tower of Dawn like the back of your hand."

Leo took out a Magic Stone and bought the map.

The elf accepted the Magic Stone with a smile, then added, "However, the selling price of the potion may not satisfy you. Even when inferior-quality potions are accepted, they generally sell for less than half the price of the materials."

Leo frowned. He had not expected inferior-quality potions to be so unwelcome.

Leo asked, "What about ordinary-quality and superior-quality potions?"

The elf said, "At our shop's purchase price, ordinary-quality potions are bought for one hundred to one hundred and ten percent of the material cost. Superior-quality potions are bought for around one hundred and fifty percent of the material cost. Other shops are generally within the same price range."

The purchase prices for potions were much lower than Leo had expected.

Inferior-quality potions could not even recover their costs.

Ordinary-quality potions could only be said to neither profit nor lose money. A ten-percent profit was more or less just enough to make up for the cost of time.

Superior-quality potions could make money.

But superior-quality potions were not easy to brew.

After digesting these prices, Leo said, "Miss Clerk, I would like to buy a set of potion-brewing tools. Also, please prepare these herbs for me... three portions of each."

Leo took out his list.

Besides buying potion-brewing tools, Leo had also come here to purchase the herbs needed for all kinds of entry-level potions.

"Wizard Leo, the total is ninety Magic Stones."

Herbs were still rather expensive.

Apart from the fifty Magic Stones for the tools, the materials for these entry-level potions alone cost a full forty Magic Stones.

Carrying bags upon bags of materials, Leo found it very inconvenient to move around.

The elf beside him said, "Wizard Leo, carrying all this is inconvenient for you. I have a Spatial Storage Bag here, with a small portable space inside. For just one hundred Magic Stones, you can take this magical mechanical item home."

Leo was speechless.

He felt that, at this rate of spending, the Magic Stones on him would not last long.

But the Spatial Storage Bag recommended by the elf really would be a great help to Leo right now.

In the end, Leo still bought the Spatial Storage Bag.

Though it was called a small space, the space inside was already roughly as large as a three-story house.

After putting everything away, Leo picked up the map and carried the Spatial Storage Bag, preparing to leave the Woodpecker Hut.

Suddenly, Leo remembered something. He said, "Hughes, aren't you buying anything?"
