"It's already four in the afternoon," Kateya said. "Xielis has finished fusing the spell and is waiting in the laboratory for your order to test it."

"Was she really that slow at fusing spells?" Lohr was a little stunned.

Good heavens. She had only needed to learn one spell and fuse it with the Fireball Spell, yet it had taken eight hours. How had she even broken through to become a Second-Level Apprentice?

"The fusion sequence you left behind was rather difficult," Kateya said helplessly. "It took her four hours just to memorize it, then another two hours to barely complete the fusion."

"Alright, let's go see how effective it is." Lohr stood up, took the lead out of the bedroom, and headed toward the laboratory.

Kateya hurriedly followed him.

The moment he entered the laboratory, he spotted Xielis waiting eagerly by the small-scale spell testing ground.

"Lord Lohr, I'm ready. May we begin the test now?" Xielis hurriedly asked upon seeing him arrive.

"Wait a moment. I'll activate the protective barrier first." Lohr walked to the right side of the testing ground and infused a little earth element into a small magic array.

With a soft hum, a translucent yellow barrier rose around the small-scale spell testing ground.

Its purpose was to prevent large-scale spells from affecting other parts of the laboratory during testing. It only blocked from the inside, not the outside.

There was also a scale in front of the barrier that could directly test a spell's power, though it was not very precise.

There were only six marks in total, representing 0.1, 0.4, 0.7, 1, 1.4, and 1.7 respectively.

"Alright, begin." Lohr looked at Xielis and gave the order with some anticipation.

"Alright, the test is complete. Xielis, dispel the Magma Eruption Spell." Lohr turned and spoke to Xielis, who was still standing there blankly without moving.

"Yes."

Lohr's words woke the two women from their joy. Xielis answered, then hurriedly waved toward the small testing ground.

The magma, which had already piled up three meters high and was still continuing to rise, vanished. The testing ground returned to its original state once more.

"You've both worked hard today. Kateya, take Xielis to collect her reward, then go back and rest."

Lohr looked at the restored testing ground, nodded in satisfaction, and then gave the two women their instructions.

The two models intersected, ultimately forming a larger and more complex model.
