Background / History
At age twelve, Lohr is the only remaining member of his family in Radov Town. During the disorder following the gods' fall, he stays awake behind the manor gates, fearing that violence in the streets will reach him. This experience leaves him deeply concerned with security and order 2 6.
He uses his Game Panel to turn fish harvesting into Charge Points, improving his Constitution and establishing fish-purchasing routes with nearby villages. He works with Clysis to salt and sell the fish, then leaves Clysis a detailed fish-curing method before departing the town 4 5 6 8.
When Dion Mara tests the town's residents, Lohr is the only person found with meditation talent. His verified fifth-level talent lets him choose his own faction; he selects the Earth-Fire School, rejecting bloodline wizardry because he refuses to risk losing his humanity 7 9.
Lohr survives the Temple Knights' attack on Mara's airship, searches the wreckage for thirty-seven fire-element magic stones, and arrives at the Earth-Fire School's wizard tower as its sole surviving prospective apprentice 15. There he becomes Agular's student, develops optimized spell models, creates the Microscope Spell, and obtains a personal laboratory with Kateya as his assistant 22 25.
Appearance
At twelve, Lohr is about one and a half meters tall and notably conspicuous for carrying an iron sword only slightly shorter than an adult's. His physique increases through Charge Point allocation, eventually leaving him taller than the twelve-to-thirteen-year-old Berk 6 24.
- Carries an iron sword for personal protection during his early trading journeys 5 6.
- Wears the red-and-yellow robe of the Earth-Fire School after receiving it from Fray 20.
- Keeps a spatial ring on his right ring finger after winning it in the Divine Kingdom Trial 48.
Personality
Lohr is cautious, practical, and intensely self-directed. He allocates his first Charge Point to Constitution rather than future-oriented talent because he considers physical safety his immediate priority. He also consciously limits how much unusual knowledge he reveals, recognizing that repeated slips could attract suspicion 4 21.
He is focused on magical research to the point of disregarding social and romantic distractions. Kateya and Fray both observe that his attention is overwhelmingly directed toward improving spells and advancing his plans 16 23.
Despite his pragmatism, Lohr values reciprocity. He compensates workers fairly, gives Clysis a means to support himself after their parting, and refuses to accept valuable equipment from Levan without an appropriate exchange of benefits 4 8 49.
Inside the Divine Kingdom, Lohr becomes notably ruthless toward those who threaten him. He prefers intimidation when it saves elemental energy, but treats participation in the trial as an acceptance of lethal risk 36 37.
Abilities & Skills
Game Panel
Lohr possesses a gaming-style interface that converts acquired resources and activities into Charge Points.
- Uses Charge Points to improve physical attributes, meditation talent, mental power, and spell models 4 7 12.
- Gains Charge Points through activities such as harvesting fish and recovering magic stones from the crashed airship 4 15.
- Cannot directly increase his Meditation Method through the Panel; advancement depends on spiritual growth and meditation-rune development 12.
- The cost of improvements rises sharply at higher levels, particularly for meditation talent and limit-breaking 34 48.
Earth-Fire Spellcasting
Lohr is an Earth-Fire School apprentice who combines fire and earth elemental magic.
- Learns Fireball, Rock Wall, and Wall of Flame shortly after beginning his apprenticeship 12.
- Optimizes Wall of Flame into a defensive spell rated at Third-Level Apprentice strength 19 20.
- Develops Earthfire Attraction and High-Temperature Amplitude as components for more advanced fusion magic 29.
- Creates Small Lava Eruption and later Lava Eruption Sorcery, whose reported 1.4-Ring power overwhelms ordinary apprentices 32 43.
- Uses Adaptive Rock Barrier as a defensive spell; sustaining major attacks can consume substantial elemental energy 33 48.
Spell Fusion and Optimization
Lohr's greatest talent is his ability to analyze, improve, and combine spell structures.
- Improves spell models through intuition and deliberate rune analysis, earning recognition as a genius within the Earth-Fire School 19 20.
- Uses the Consciousness-Sea Microscope to identify elemental molecular intersections between spells 30.
- Fuses Fireball and Earthfire Attraction to develop Small Magma Eruption, an apprentice spell comparable to a First-Circle spell 29 32.
- Pursues spell fusion as part of his long-term goal of becoming a Space Wizard 26 30.
Microscope Spell
Lohr independently develops both a physical microscope and a spell model capable of magnifying structures within the Sea of Consciousness.
- Builds a physical microscope with Kateya and identifies bacteria on a vegetable leaf 23.
- Creates the Microscope Spell in ten days with Berk testing the completed model 24 25.
- The spell magnifies internal structures in the Sea of Consciousness, allowing Lohr to study spell models at an elemental-molecular level 25 30.
- Its limited direct combat use initially confuses Berk, but Agular recognizes its value to Official Wizards 25.
Mobility and Magic Arrays
Lohr supplements his direct combat power with movement and battlefield-control techniques.
- Learns Levitation Spell as an attribute-less escape and mobility spell 18.
- Uses Levitation Spell to travel through trees and rapidly reposition in the Divine Kingdom 34 36.
- Establishes Lava Eruption Magic Arrays to defend resource caches, delay intruders, and restore elemental energy 37 39.
