Ch. 1Fall of the Gods

Lor Rokes woke in the body of a twelve-year-old in a world where wizards were rising and gods were falling, and planned to improve his meditation talent before a wizard arrived. After killing an intruder and burying the dead, he prepared to buy live fish to earn charge points and build up his strength.

  • Lor checked his panel and decided to gather charge points to raise his meditation talent before a wizard came to town.
  • When Barber broke into the courtyard to loot the house, Lor hid in the storeroom and killed him with a firewood chopper.
  • Lor found gold and silver coins hidden on Barber, cremated his body, and buried the previous owner's parents in the courtyard.
  • Lor counted his wealth and planned to buy live fish the next day so he could harvest charge points and sell the fish as salted fish.

Ch. 2Paying Taxes, Militia Protection

After the gods took many believers into their Divine Kingdoms, twelve-year-old Lohr paid Baron Radev’s steward and militia to protect him and keep his family business safe. He learned that more than seven thousand people remained in town, where the militia had killed looters, and stayed under Clysis’s protection.

  • Lohr opened his door to Cotri and two militia members, then gave Cotri the five-gold-coin commercial tax and a generous extra payment.
  • Cotri assigned the young red-haired militia member Clysis to protect Lohr for several days.
  • Lohr prepared breakfast for Clysis and asked him about the town’s condition.
  • Clysis said more than twelve thousand empty bodies remained after believers were taken to the Divine Kingdoms, while looters had reduced the surviving population to a little over seven thousand.
  • Clysis said the militia had tracked down and killed the looters, and wondered why they had not targeted Lohr.

Ch. 3Charge Points +1

Lohr visited Roya Village to buy fish and discovered that fish containing trace elements could increase his Charge Points. After negotiating a higher price to select fish himself, he killed nearly three hundred and gained one Charge Point.

  • Lohr waited three days for order to return to town, then traveled with Clysis and three carriages to Roya Village.
  • Lohr told Garcia that the God of Wealth had taken his parents and said he had come to carry out the god’s will by buying fish.
  • Lohr tested killing fish from the village pond and found that fish containing trace elements increased his Charge Points.
  • Lohr offered Garcia double the usual price for fish he selected himself, and Garcia agreed to let Hargwen help him.
  • Lohr selected and killed nearly three hundred fish, gained one Charge Point, and had the rest loaded onto carriages to be made into salted fish.

Ch. 4Adding Points, Plans

Lohr spent a day harvesting fish in Bluefish Village, using a Charge Point to raise his Constitution and earning more points as he worked. On the way back to town, he decided to seek out another fishing village to build up Charge Points for his future studies in witchcraft.

  • Lohr spent his first Charge Point to raise his Constitution from 0.7 to 1.7 before returning to work.
  • Lohr worked faster and gained two more Charge Points, though progress slowed as he exhausted most of the element-rich fish in the pond.
  • Lohr bought nearly three thousand pounds of fish from Hargwen and gave copper coins to Clysis and the cart drivers.
  • Clysis accepted Lohr's payment for protection and promised to keep him safe on the journey back to town.
  • Lohr concluded that he needed another source of fish and planned to visit a fishing village nearly thirty li from town.

Ch. 5Adding Points Again, Constitution 2.7

Lohr salted eight hundred fish with Clysis, sold the previous batch for twelve gold coins, and increased his Constitution to 2.7. He then prepared to travel with Clysis to another fishing village, carrying an iron sword in case of danger.

  • Lohr and Clysis worked until midnight to salt and hang eight hundred fish, and Clysis praised Lohr's strength.
  • Lohr spent two Charge Points to raise his Constitution from 1.7 to 2.7, then decided to focus future points on meditation talent and buy an iron sword.
  • Over the next five days, Lohr dried the salted fish and sold the batch left by his parents for twelve gold coins.
  • Lohr asked Clysis to accompany him to a distant fishing village, and Clysis warned that they might have to stay overnight in dangerous territory.
  • Lohr showed Clysis his iron sword, packed food, and set out with him to rent a carriage.

Ch. 6Opening New Trade Routes

Lohr traveled to Dural Village and bought selected fish from Mihau Cadiz, gaining Charge Points while filling three carriages. He paid the villagers and his workers, then set off back toward town without staying overnight.

  • Lohr and Clysis arrived at Dural Village, where Mihau Cadiz greeted them and agreed to sell fish.
  • Lohr negotiated a price of one silver and five copper coins per hundred pounds, then personally selected fish from the village pond.
  • Lohr gained Charge Points as Clysis and the carriage drivers loaded the chosen fish into the carriages.
  • After a lunch break, Lohr filled all three carriages and paid Mihau four gold coins and five silver coins for the fish.
  • Lohr declined Mihau's offer to stay overnight and gave Clysis and the three carriage drivers extra copper coins before leaving the village.

Ch. 7Five Months Later, a Wizard Arrives

Five months after arriving in the world, Lohr raised his Meditation Talent to level three and waited anxiously for a wizard to reach his town. When a red-robed wizard arrived, Lohr tested as having fifth-level talent and watched the wizard attack Baron Radev’s castle before militiamen began forcing townspeople to the temple square.

  • Lohr spent three Charge Points to raise his Meditation Talent from level one to level three.
  • Five months later, Lohr worried about which wizard would come to take over the town’s temple and whether the town lay on the doomed Murphy Continent.
  • A red-robed wizard destroyed the temple and ordered the townspeople to gather at the square, where Lohr arrived first.
  • The wizard tested Lohr’s talent with a crystal ball and identified him as having fifth-level Meditation Talent.
  • The wizard flew to Baron Radev’s castle, where explosions silenced the commotion inside, while Lohr worried about Clysis.
  • Militiamen went door to door, forcing the townspeople to the temple square.

Ch. 8Parting Gift

The red-robed wizard took control of Radov Town and tested its residents for meditation talent after Lohr had already passed the test. Meanwhile, Temple Knights Anjek and Rosa planned to gather strength and seek revenge, and the chapter ended with the wizard finding no talent among more than a thousand townspeople.

  • Baron Radev announced that the red-robed wizard had come to offer the townspeople a chance to become wizards, and the wizard burned more than thirty protesting fanatics to ash.
  • Anjek and Rosa watched from a mountain, decided the town no longer needed their protection, and left to absorb the God of War's final gift and seek allies.
  • The red-robed wizard ordered the townspeople to line up and touch his crystal ball, while Lohr gave Clysis instructions for curing salted fish as a farewell gift.
  • Lohr explained that he had already touched the crystal ball and waited for the wizard, who then allowed him to stand behind him and forced Baron Radev to join the line.
  • The red-robed wizard tested more than a thousand townspeople but found no one else with meditation talent.

Ch. 9Choosing a Wizard Path

After Lohr was identified as having Fifth-Level Meditation Talent, Wizard Mara brought him aboard an airship and let him choose a wizard school. Lohr chose the Fire-Earth Wizard Faction, intending to pursue a path toward becoming a Space Wizard.

  • Baron Delaf dismissed the townspeople after the talent tests found no one else with meditation talent, and Wizard Mara ordered him to ensure future children were tested.
  • Mara introduced himself to Lohr, summoned a black-iron airship, and took Lohr and another young man aboard.
  • Mara gave Lohr a parchment listing wizard schools and explained that apprentices with fifth-level talent could freely choose one.
  • Mara warned Lohr about the dangers of Bloodline Wizards, while Lohr decided to pursue the Fire-Earth path toward becoming a Space Wizard.
  • Lohr told Mara that he wished to join the Fire-Earth Wizard Faction.

Ch. 10Murphy Continent, Cultivating the Meditation Method

Lohr obtained a Fire-Earth Meditation Method aboard an airship bound for the Murphy Continent, which he knew would be destroyed in ten years. He began learning to cultivate independently, and his latest attempt at constructing the method’s rune model remained intact despite developing cracks.

  • Mara gave Lohr a Fire-Earth Meditation Method and said he would send him to the only Wizard Tower on the Murphy Continent with a Fire-Earth School mentor.
  • Lohr realized the continent would be destroyed by Faith Wizards in ten years and considered how difficult it would be to leave before then.
  • Mara showed Lohr to cabin 5, where he weighed ways to cross the continent and decided to wait until he reached the Wizard Tower before making plans.
  • Lohr read the Fire-Earth Meditation Method and learned that it cultivated the Sea of Consciousness and included models for Fireball, Rock Wall, and Wall of Flame.
  • Lohr repeatedly attempted to construct the method’s complex rune model, suffering two collapses that left him dizzy before his next attempt developed cracks without collapsing.

Ch. 11Invitation, Earth-Fire Meditation Model Completed

Lohr erased his flawed Meditation Model and successfully completed a new Earth-Fire Meditation Model aboard Mara’s airship. He learned his Elemental Domain could hold five spell models and planned to choose his remaining spells carefully at the Wizard Tower.

  • Lohr carefully erased most of his flawed Meditation Model, then let it collapse with little harm to himself.
  • Lohr declined Tekok Vess’s offer to join his group unless they were assigned to the same Wizard Tower, and he went downstairs to eat.
  • After returning to his room and reviewing the Meditation Method, Lohr completed the meditation rune and drew Earth and fire elements toward his Sea of Consciousness.
  • Mara sensed the elemental disturbance, recognized Lohr’s talent, and decided the Fire-Earth School should reward him.
  • Lohr examined his completed Meditation Model and its Elemental Domain, which could hold up to five spell models.

Ch. 12Temple Knights Attack

Lohr strengthened his Spirit and Wall of Flame aboard the airship while deciding which spells to learn next. Three days from the Wizard Tower, the airship was attacked by Temple Knights, and Wizard Mara fought back as the vessel began to fall.

  • Lohr spent Charge Points to raise his Spirit to 5.6 and improve Wall of Flame to 0.7 Ring.
  • Fifteen Temple Knights voted to take revenge on the approaching mark of war and left their hidden cave.
  • Lohr raised his Spirit to 5.9 and considered choosing an escape spell and Microscope Spell before the airship suddenly shuddered under attack.
  • Wizard Mara flew out of the airship, but a second strike destroyed its elemental reaction core, killed apprentices, and sent it plummeting.
  • Wizard Mara slowed the airship with a Levitation Spell and attacked the aged knight below with five Fireballs as the other knights swung their swords at him.

Ch. 13Hidden

Wizard Mara fought the Divine Grace Knights while the airship crashed, and Lohr hid in the dining room as the knights stormed aboard. After Xiani killed the apprentices searching the first floor, a Fireball struck him from behind.

  • Wizard Mara burned the knights with a Heavenly Fire Curtain and Chain Burst Fireballs while the old knight endured his attacks and unleashed divine power.
  • Lohr decided against hiding on the third floor and crawled into a pile of bread in the dining room.
  • Wizard Mara withheld his Fourth Circle spell scroll and hoped his student and Lohr would survive as he continued fighting the old knight.
  • The airship crashed, and eight Temple Knights entered through the breach; their leader sent Xiani to search the first floor and took the others upstairs.
  • Xiani searched the corridors and killed the apprentices he found while Lohr stayed hidden in the bread.
  • A Fireball exploded behind Xiani and burned him to charred remains.

Ch. 14Rewards

Mara returned to the flying vessel, killed the Temple Knights who had slaughtered its occupants, and let Lohr search the first two floors while he recovered. Lohr found a useful earth-element spell and collected gold and Magic Stones from the wreckage, leaving the vessel with its energy compartment still under scrutiny.

  • Mara found the third floor devastated and saw the Temple Knights kill his apprentice Blanya as they completed their objective.
  • Mara encountered the four Temple Knights on the second floor and vaporized them with deep blue flames.
  • Mara found Lohr hiding in the dining room and allowed him to explore the first and second floors before taking him to the Wizard Tower the next day.
  • Lohr searched the library, memorized the Earthvein Breathing Spell, and then collected more than five hundred gold coins from the cabins.
  • Lohr found the wrecked energy furnace, refused to absorb a Magic Stone, and continued collecting the remaining fire-element Magic Stones.

Ch. 15Arriving at the Wizard Tower

Lohr recovered 37 fire-element magic stones from the flying boat wreckage, then Mara flew him to the vast city surrounding the wizard tower. Mara introduced Lohr to a wizard of the Fire-Earth School, and Kateya escorted him inside, where she asked why he had chosen the school.

  • Lohr searched the energy cabin ruins and collected 37 fire-element magic stones before settling in for the night.
  • The next morning, Mara flew Lohr east and reached the city around the wizard tower before sunset.
  • Mara introduced Lohr to the wizard and reported his talent, rapid progress, and survival of the attack by War Temple Knights.
  • The wizard sent Kateya to escort Lohr into the tower while he spoke with Mara.
  • Kateya led Lohr through the tower and asked why he had joined the Fire-Earth School.

Ch. 16Teaching

Lohr learned how the Supreme Wizard Council’s Contribution Point system worked and settled into his new home in the Fire-Earth School. Kateya’s mentor, Fray, advised her to become Lohr’s laboratory assistant, while Lohr remained focused on improving spell models.

  • Lohr told Kateya he chose the Earth-Fire School because he felt close to both elements, then asked where to obtain spell models.
  • Kateya explained that apprentices could borrow basic models from the Grand Library and earn Contribution Points for contributions, including improving spell models.
  • Lohr declined to borrow Kateya’s Contribution Points and chose to settle into the apprentice residential area before visiting the library.
  • Kateya showed Lohr around the school and gave him the key to his private house, then reflected on former roommates who had died or left wizardry.
  • Fray told Kateya that several Second-Circle Wizards were negotiating with Mara to mentor Lohr and advised Kateya to offer to become Lohr’s laboratory assistant.
  • Kateya resolved to follow Fray’s advice and help Lohr with daily chores.

Ch. 17Thoughts

Lohr and Kateya agreed to work together as she became his experimental assistant, and they searched the Grand Library for a spell that could reveal tiny objects in a wizard’s Sea of Consciousness. Their search had only begun when Mara, watching Lohr through a magic array, praised his idea and regretted not recruiting him into the Fire Element School.

  • Fray offered to replace Kateya at her registration job if she became Lohr’s experimental assistant, but Kateya chose to help Lohr.
  • Lohr agreed to Kateya’s offer, and they went to the Grand Library to look for earth-element apprentice spell models.
  • Lohr asked Kateya about a spell for seeing extremely tiny objects in the Sea of Consciousness, but she could not recall one.
  • Lohr and Kateya split up to search the library, agreeing to give up if they found nothing within an hour.
  • Mara watched Lohr on a light screen with other wizards and praised his idea, regretting that she had not recruited him into the Fire Element School.

Ch. 18Central Archive, Levitation Spell, Optimized Spell Model Testing Grounds

Lohr went to the Central Archive with Kateya to learn the Levitation Spell, then brought her to the testing grounds to submit an optimized spell model. Kateya paid the testing fee for him, and the story left them preparing to test his work.

  • Mara persuaded Gulei and the elderly wizard to keep watching Lohr before deciding whether to change his apprentice quota.
  • Lohr met Kateya at the Central Archive, and she found him a parchment containing the Levitation Spell model.
  • Kateya kept five First-Level Wizard Apprentices waiting while Lohr memorized the spell, then accompanied him to the optimized spell model testing grounds.
  • Kateya introduced Lohr to Lus, who questioned how a First-Level Apprentice could have optimized a spell model.
  • Lus explained the five-Contribution-Point testing deposit, and Kateya paid it for Lohr.

Ch. 19Complete Surrender, One-Fifth of the Slots

Lohr demonstrated that he had improved Wall of Flame into a powerful defensive spell through intuition, stunning Lus, Kateya, and the wizards watching from the Wizard Tower. The Fire-Earth Element School gained one-fifth of the Murphy Continent’s apprentice slots, and Agular and Gulei began negotiating how Lohr’s future training would be arranged.

  • Lohr cast his improved Wall of Flame, revealing a towering stone-and-fire barrier that consumed more than half his elemental reserves.
  • Lus was stunned by Lohr’s successful improvement, while Kateya celebrated the strength of the spell and Lohr’s talent.
  • Agular transferred one-fifth of the school’s apprentice slots on the Murphy Continent to Mara under their contract, and the Fire-Earth School wizards thanked Mara for bringing Lohr to them.
  • Agular sent Fray to help Lohr claim his reward and dismissed the other wizards from the laboratory.
  • Gulei asked Agular to make Lohr his student, but Agular proposed that all the wizards let Lohr choose among their core spell combinations once he became an Official Wizard.

Ch. 20Test Completed

Lohr’s optimized Wall of Flame passed its power and defense tests, and Wizard Fray took the model for an overlap check. Lohr received his wizard robe and Contribution Card and prepared to return to his room to work on his next spell and increase his Charge Points.

  • Gulei had Agular sign a contract promising not to interfere with Lohr’s choice of First-Circle spell, then left him to teach Lohr.
  • Lus tested Lohr’s Wall of Flame and found its flame power had risen to 4.5 degrees and its defensive strength to 0.7 circles.
  • Lohr recorded the optimized Wall of Flame model so Lus could submit it for an overlap check and Contribution Points assessment.
  • Fray arrived, examined Lohr’s model, gave him a wizard robe and Contribution Card, and took the parchment for verification.
  • Lohr asked Lus whether he could leave and considered how to use meditation to absorb a small amount of Magic Crystal energy.
