The Second Round of Challenges Begins

The wizards in the square instinctively looked toward the names at the top of the ranking screen. Disbelief flashed across their faces, only to be dismissed just as quickly. Impossible. How would he dare?

"Is it against the rules?"

Dago raised his head and calmly met the spider's eight enormous eyes.

"Of course not. I, a spider, admire your courage immensely. This stage will belong to you young people in the end."

An eerie smile spread across its grotesque spider face. It opened its mouth and spat a streak of light toward Dago. Its low, raspy voice suddenly rose, as though deliberately drawing everyone's attention.

"But before that, you'll need to prove your strength to me. That person doesn't like being disturbed. Since you have the courage to try, I'm sure you won't refuse this fight, will you?"

Dago caught the streak of magical light Abochild had spat at him. A flickering name lay hidden within it.

When he saw the "challenger's" name, his eyes paused in surprise. His expression soon returned to calm.

"As you wish!"

Dago gently crushed the name within the light. His gaze shifted from Abochild's spider form to another direction, and he spoke softly.

The next instant, dazzling rays burst from the spot he was looking at. A sudden surge of power forced aside everyone in front of the light, sending wizards scrambling out of the way.

Then a handsome blond young man emerged from behind the crowd, as beautiful as a sun god and as brilliant as the sun itself.

He gazed at Dago from afar, a flawless smile on his face. "Dago, let me see what Bernal taught you."

An uproar swept through the square like a hurricane. Countless Ring of Law wizards stared in stunned disbelief.
