Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Novice 1/100 | 4 | Successfully cast after Dago opens Mental Sight; initially manifests as a compressed ball of air that explodes on impact. |
| Novice 56/1000 | 6 | Becomes faster in compression and flight, producing a palm-deep indentation in a thick tree trunk. |
| Beginner 110/1000 | 7 | Dago continues training it alongside the Universal Wizard Meditation Method before enrolling at Ainak Wizard Academy. |
| Beginner 166/1000 | 11 | Dago can fire up to ten Air Bullets at full spiritual power; a charged shot severely injures a Shadow Leopard. |
| Composite application: Ice Crystal Cannon | 13 | Air Bullet is combined with the Ice Crystal Technique: compressed air acts as propulsion while the ice pillar serves as shell and barrel. The system recognizes Ice Crystal Cannon as a separate skill, while Air Bullet remains improvable as a sub-skill. |
| Metamorphosis | 27 | The spell undergoes Metamorphosis, but its full output requires more spiritual power than Dago naturally possesses at the time. |
| Apex: Flame Core Air Bullet | 27 28 | With a Mental Potion supplement, Dago compresses a vast volume of air and energy particles into a walnut-sized, white-hot Flame Core. The resulting technique is classified as an “Apex of Sorcery.” |
| Enhanced Apex output | 47 | Increased spiritual power improves the Flame Core’s range, compression force, speed, and destructive power; a full-strength casting still exhausts all of Dago’s spiritual power. |
History
Air Bullet is the accompanying spell of the Universal Wizard Meditation Method. It becomes available once Dago opens Mental Sight and can perceive energy particles, marking his advancement to a Second-Level Wizard Apprentice 4.
Although intended to help complete the Meditation Method’s final step—mental power interfering with the material world—Dago develops it into his primary early offensive spell. He repeatedly drains his spiritual power by casting Air Bullet, then meditates to recover and improve both the spell and his cultivation 4.
Its limitations in raw destructive power lead Dago to use it as the propulsive component of the Ice Crystal Cannon. Later, its Metamorphosis produces Flame Core Air Bullet, a high-cost trump card capable of overwhelming far stronger opponents 13 27 28.
Spell Mechanics
Air Bullet requires Mental Sight to locate nearby energy particles. The caster sustains them with mental power, gathers them into a thin membrane, compresses the enclosed air, and releases the resulting projectile 4.
- The degree of compression depends on the caster’s mental-power output. 4
- Early in its development, Dago can only compress the projectile to roughly fist size; further compression becomes exponentially more difficult. 6
- Its normal casting range is constrained by the range of the caster’s spiritual vision. 12
- The spell’s explosion creates a shockwave on impact. 5
- Fine control over compressed air can be used for movement, including sudden leaps and evasive propulsion beneath Dago’s feet. 27 38
Applications
Direct Fire
Air Bullet is primarily fired as a high-speed compressed-air projectile.
- A developing Air Bullet strikes with force comparable to a motorcycle traveling at about forty kilometers per hour. 5
- It shatters a Swift Deer’s ribs and is sufficient for hunting small forest animals. 5
- At Third-Level Apprentice strength, a fist-sized shot can destroy a tree more than ten meters away. 15
- It can kill a Shadow Leopard in one shot at Dago’s later level of development. 15
- Against armored targets such as Bronze Crocodiles, it is more effective at slowing or distracting than penetrating their toughest body parts. 16
- A shot can disrupt an enemy’s aim through its blast wave even when blocked by a protective barrier. 17
- At Half-Step Formal Wizard strength, Dago rapidly fires Air Bullets through the Ice Crystal Wand while fighting blood beasts. 50
Mobility
Dago applies compressed air beneath his feet for explosive movement.
- He uses it to evade a Shadow Energy Ball by launching himself away from the point of impact. 27
- The technique enables repeated leaps of several meters while fleeing Raymond. 38
Ice Crystal Cannon
Air Bullet serves as the propulsion system for Dago’s composite ice-element technique.
- Compressed air functions as “gunpowder,” while an Ice Crystal Technique pillar becomes the shell and barrel. 13
- The resulting Ice Crystal Cannon can pierce two large trees and becomes Dago’s most destructive shaping spell. 13
- Air Bullet, Ice Crystal Technique, and Resonance Art can be combined to create the cannon’s strongest initial shot. 17
Flame Core Air Bullet
The Apex form compresses air and free energy particles into an intensely heated Flame Core.
- The Flame Core resembles a miniature sun and warps the surrounding air with its heat. 27
- It requires immense spiritual power; Dago initially needs a Mental Potion to cast it. 27
- A normal battle permits only one casting at Dago’s earlier spiritual-power level. 29
- Its later full-power output is described as comparable to a Formal Wizard-level attack, but it completely drains Dago’s spiritual power. 47
Limitations
- Mental Sight continuously consumes mental power and cannot be maintained indefinitely. 4
- Dago can initially cast only two or three Air Bullets before requiring meditation to recover. 5
- Compression becomes increasingly difficult once the projectile reaches approximately fist size. 6
- A normal Air Bullet cannot reliably breach a wizard’s protective barrier. 17
- Flame Core Air Bullet has a long charging time and is difficult to employ in direct combat without restraining or distracting the target. 27 38
