Beginning the Assessment

Bernal cast a disdainful glance toward Campbell in the distance and said mockingly, "Those hunting dogs who specialize in recruiting for Thorns of Pain demand a far greater price for a recommendation than I do."

"Hm?"

Dago froze. "They demand benefits too?"

Bernal said flatly, "Without sufficient profit, why would a stranger of a wizard take the risk of recommending you?"

"If you enter the Ring of Law through a hunting dog, you'll have to hand over thirty percent of all mission rewards for at least the next ten years. But they have their own connections and methods, making it easier for you to pass the entrance test. It's basically a guaranteed pass."

"After all, once you successfully enter the Ring of Law, they can collect another reward from Thorns of Pain. Typical double-dipping dog brokers."

Dago was stunned, then relieved. Thankfully, Campbell had looked down on him and rejected him back then.

Compared to that, he would rather deal with a true villain like Bernal.
