Practice
After Coach Ochiai Coach Kataoka Ochiai wandered aimlessly around the field.
By this time, many athletes had already taken his advice and either started weighted running or went to the gym to lift weights.
Therefore, Coach Ochiai had to wander around the campus, secretly observing the athletes' practice.
He doesn't need to worry about Sendou. Ever since they discovered him, and he's been actively training specifically to help him when he's in a slump, he's been doing even more of that.
Sendou's most pressing task right now is to find the state in which his body and instincts are in perfect harmony during the summer.
He had no idea about the details of the bat swing, especially since he knew that Sendou's swing was personally trained by Coach Nakanishi.
However, he also knew a little inside information: Coach Kataoka planned to start intensive training to improve Sendou's ability to watch the ball when holding Practice Match with other schools next year.
He didn't need to worry about that at all; that training was the type that Sendou liked.
This was also thanks to Coach Kataoka spending so much time with Sendou, which made his mind more and more agile, plus a sudden flash of inspiration during Practice Match in his third year.
However, no Practice Match will be scheduled before next spring, so the plan has to be postponed, and only a few members of the coaching staff know about it.
"Call out!"
"Smack!"
"Damn it! Is it still too high?!"
"Um?"
Coach Ochiai, who was wandering around the school like a ghost, lost in his own thoughts, heard Sawamura's voice coming from inside the Indoor Practice Field as he approached it.
The biggest difference between now and in his previous life is probably Coach Ochiai's attitude towards Sawamura.
At least for now, Coach Ochiai sees Sawamura as a very valuable asset to the team, even though he is the third pitcher who can share playing time with Kawakami after Furuya leaves the game.
Even because he might have been the number two pitcher back then.
Upon hearing about a contestant they were interested in, they naturally wanted to go and see for themselves.
"No! The ball wasn't bad at all!"
Just as Coach Ochiai was about to go check, another voice came from behind. Judging from the content, Coach Ochiai knew it was the first-year catcher who often partnered with Sawamura.
However, he certainly doesn't know the name.
After all, in his eyes, if Kariba wanted to advance to the First Team, he would have to wait until Kariba was in his third year at the very least.
He only vaguely remembers the names of players who might make it into the First Team; he can barely recall them.
Coach Ochiai then walked over and secretly observed. (Standing at the Daimon)
"Indeed, the pursuit was too deliberate, and the location wasn't very good."
Staring at the gloves for too long might cause you to overexert yourself! While Sawamura was practicing, he was also thinking, but he was just a little slow on the uptake.
"Relax! Relax!"
Relax your whole body!
Don't focus on the gloves!
"Hey!" Sawamura thought to himself, trying to relax, and then grinned innocently.
"What are you laughing at?" Kariba saw Sawamura's first silly grin and felt a chill run down his spine.
I wonder what outrageous things this guy is thinking of this time.
"Concentrate your power in that instant... at your fingertips!!"
"Call out!"
"Smack!"
"Nice ball!!!"
Sawamura!!
"That Ball Trajectory was perfect!" Kariba was also very excited.
This was the best pitch besides the one where Senior Chris struck out.
Coach Ochiai at the door, was now leaning against the door frame.
Upon seeing this ball, he stroked his beard, lost in thought.
"That's true!!!" Sawamura was also very happy, finally finding his rhythm.
"This is it!"
"Write it down quickly before you forget it." Sawamura immediately squatted down to write it down on the ground with a stick.
No, no, no!
"Now is not the time to write this; the body should remember." He immediately changed his mind.
This series of actions fully expressed his current mood.
Calm down!
"I'll catch it no matter how many balls they throw!" Kariba comforted her.
"You're a good person!!" Sawamura was so moved he almost cried.
"Although I know he's been focusing on ball control, he always seems to be putting his energy into strange places."
Now that I've focused my energy, I feel more powerful than usual!
"Is it related to the silly grin I just saw?" As Kaguya squatted down again, he wondered to himself, considering the previous changes.
That year, he learned a lot from Miyuki and his group.
At least that's the case from a knowledge perspective regarding baseball.
Seidou has no shortage of excellent catchers.
"Relax first... then..."
"Puff!"
"Call out!"
"Smack!"
"How was that shot?!"
Hahaha!
"That was a good shot too!"
At least they didn't use their power in strange ways.
"Have you found that feeling you had when Practice Match with your seniors?" Kariba praised loudly.
This made Sawamura even happier.
"The Outside Corner Ball are definitely not bad now!"
During previous Practice Match, the focus was probably on physical condition rather than technical analysis.
It seems like they've figured out a bit of the trick.
In an official match, even if three out of five goals are scored, if the Strike Zone is scored from a low-scoring situation, the lethality of the Inside Corner Ball kick will increase exponentially.
If it's like the first goal, Outside Corner Ball could also be his winning goal.
However, it's probably too early to do that right away.
"Wait, if that person is willing to help, this time could be significantly shortened," Coach Ochiai commented, stroking his mustache.
"Sergeant! Are you free right now?" Sawamura, who was wiping his sweat, inadvertently saw Coach Ochiai in front of the door.
Coach Ochiai walks silently; I wouldn't have noticed him if I hadn't just turned around.
Coach Ochiai heard Sawamura's voice, looked left and right, and found that there was no one else besides the three of them.
"Hmm?" So he pointed to himself with his finger.
"That's right! It's the one with droopy eyebrows..."
If you have time, could you please be the referee?
"Actually, I'm very busy!" Coach Ochiai replied.
In truth, this person was somewhat speechless at the nickname Sawamura gave him, especially since it was so rude of him to call him "the one with drooping eyebrows."
"Here we go again. Don't you always doze off on the bench?"
Suddenly, I found myself in an environment where everyone around me was a stranger.
I imagine you must be troubled by this too!
"You should probably open your heart and join our team too!" Sawamura said to Coach Ochiai with a smile.
This expression is as sunny and cheerful as can be.
"Do you think I'm a transfer student?" Coach Ochiai's face changed.
"I'm so sorry, this kid's head is a bit... something..." Kariba quickly apologized.
"This is so troublesome!" Coach Ochiai walked in slowly.
"Those footsteps are so heavy!!" Kagura thought to himself.
"Well! I have something to say!" Coach Ochiai thought to himself.
