Background / History

Na'er was found alone at a street corner as a child, dressed in thin, worn clothing and surrounded by hooligans. Tang Wulin gave her food, while Lang Yue took pity on her and brought her into the family home. Na'er thereafter followed Tang Wulin closely, calling him “Big Brother” and relying on him for safety, encouragement, and companionship. 8

When Tang Wulin was ten, Na'er disappeared without a goodbye, leaving only a note asking him to grow stronger until they could meet again. She spent the intervening years cultivating at Shrek Academy under Yun Ming. 8

Tang Wulin reunited with her at Shrek as an Inner Court disciple and Soul Emperor. Though she had become the renowned “Dragon Spear Goddess,” she still addressed him as her brother and retained her warmth toward him. 8

Na'er is the auxiliary personality separated from Gu Yue, the Silver Dragon King's primary personality. Their shared origin created both an intimate connection and a rivalry over Tang Wulin. A Soul Contract bound a wager between them: if Tang Wulin chose Gu Yue at Sea God's Fate, Na'er would be devoured and returned to the Silver Dragon King's true body. Gu Yue ultimately defied the contract rather than sacrifice Na'er. 9 10 28

After the contract was broken, Na'er remained an independent member of Tang Wulin and Gu Yue's household. She later returned to Shrek's battle ranks, insisting that she had both the right and responsibility to fight as the Silver Dragon Spear's wielder and a Dragon God's incarnation. 30 62
