Background / History
Shrek stood at the center of the Douluo Continent for ten thousand years. It did not participate in politics or seek hegemony; instead, it upheld righteousness, sheltered weaker soul masters, and guarded the common people across generations. 1
In Tang Wulin's original era, the Federation, Spirit Pagoda, and Holy Spirit Cult joined forces to eradicate Shrek and the Tang Sect. Two Level-12 Fixed-Mounted Godslayer Soul Cannon Shells struck Shrek City and the Tang Sect headquarters, devastating the academy, city, and their inhabitants. 1
Pavilion Master Yun Ming burned his quasi-god body, cultivation foundation, and divine soul origin to weaken the shells and preserve surviving disciples. His sacrifice could not prevent Shrek's fall, but it protected Tang Wulin and other survivors. 1
After Tang Wulin was pulled through a spatial-temporal fissure, he arrived in an earlier era where Shrek City and its academy remained prosperous and intact. 3
