Arc 3Thunder Against Sukuna

Jie Jian led the sorcerers’ assault on Sukuna, repeatedly recovering from devastating attacks before dying after helping Yuji and the others continue the fight. The system later rewarded Jie Jian and sent him into a new challenge, where he met Hajime Kashimo and Angel.

  • Jie Jian helped plan the battle against Sukuna, and the sorcerers trained for seven days before the fight began.
  • Jie Jian ambushed Sukuna with Ryu Ishigori’s support, endured Malevolent Shrine, and restored himself with the storm after Sukuna’s Furnace: Open attack.
  • As Sukuna’s armor-enhanced power overwhelmed the group, Jie Jian defeated Yorozu and joined Higuruma, Yuji Itadori, and Maki Zenin in the courtroom assault on Sukuna.
  • After Kenjaku’s attack destroyed the Executioner’s Sword and Sukuna regained his technique, Jie Jian shoved him away from Yuji and the others, then died interrupting Malevolent Shrine.
  • Jie Jian watched Yuta use his body to fight Sukuna and saw Satoru Gojo’s later battle and death before the system awarded him Adaptive Evolution and improved abilities.
  • In his thirteenth challenge, Jie Jian killed an ancient sorcerer, spared the coerced office worker, and adapted a technique that let him infuse enemies with positive and negative charges.
  • Jie Jian found Hajime Kashimo and discussed domains, but Angel arrived and Kashimo attacked Jie Jian after he stopped him from charging her.
  • Jie Jian absorbed Kashimo’s lightning without injury, while Kashimo remained determined to fight him.
Chapters 51–75 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 51A Declaration of War from Sukuna

Jie Jian learned that Sukuna had killed Angel and that the Jujutsu Higher-Ups were considering executing Fushiguro, while Sukuna prepared the Bath to perfect his control of Fushiguro’s body. The chapter ended with Sukuna declaring that he would attack Jujutsu Society in Tokyo in seven days.

  • Jie Jian learned from Panda that Sukuna had killed Angel, Hana Kurusu, and worried that no one could free Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm.
  • Panda told Jie Jian that Yuji had gone to contact Okkotsu and Hakari, while the Jujutsu Higher-Ups had detained Fushiguro and were discussing executing him.
  • Jie Jian questioned the Higher-Ups’ decision and wondered whether Fushiguro’s Mahoraga could help defeat Sukuna.
  • Kenjaku accompanied Sukuna to the Zenin Family’s Punishment Room, where Sukuna planned to prepare the Bath to make his soul fully compatible with Fushiguro’s body.
  • Sukuna used Kenjaku’s cursed spirits to prepare the Bath and ordered Kenjaku to tell Jujutsu Society that he would attack Tokyo in seven days, on the morning of November 21, 2018.

Ch. 52Avengers Assemble!

After Kenjaku captured Tengen and announced Sukuna’s challenge for Tokyo on the morning of the 21st, Jie Jian joined the gathered sorcerers to discuss their response. Choso revealed that Sukuna was not at full strength because three of his fingers had been destroyed by Hana Kurusu’s Jacob’s Ladder.

  • Panda told Jie Jian that Kenjaku had taken Tengen and that Sukuna had challenged the sorcerers to fight in Tokyo on the morning of the 21st.
  • Panda brought Jie Jian to a meeting where Yuji Itadori introduced him to Ryu Ishigori and Yuta Okkotsu.
  • Yuta Okkotsu introduced the sorcerers willing to fight Sukuna, including Jie Jian and the injured Choso.
  • Choso recounted Kenjaku’s attack on the Tomb of the Star and repeated Sukuna’s challenge.
  • Choso said that Sukuna was not at full strength because Hana Kurusu’s Jacob’s Ladder had destroyed three of his fingers.

Ch. 53A Sorcerer Without Limits

After learning that Jacob's Ladder had destroyed three of Sukuna's fingers, Yuta Okkotsu rallied the sorcerers to plan their fight. Jie Jian proposed several bizarre tactics, but his suggestion that Yuta copy Nobara Kugisaki's Straw Doll Technique left Yuta troubled by what copying it would require.

  • Choso told the gathered sorcerers that Angel's Jacob's Ladder had destroyed Uraume and three of Sukuna's fingers, giving Jie Jian hope that Sukuna had only seventeen fingers' worth of cursed energy.
  • Yuta Okkotsu thanked Choso for the intelligence and encouraged everyone to fight Sukuna together.
  • Jie Jian rallied the room by recalling his victories in Tokyo No. 1 Colony and insisting that the Jujutsu Society had the advantage in numbers.
  • As the sorcerers discussed their abilities, Jie Jian revealed that his Technique Release transformed him into a destructive Thunder Beast, then suggested fighting Sukuna alone; Ryu Ishigori also volunteered to fight one-on-one before agreeing to cooperate.
  • Jie Jian proposed distracting Sukuna with manure and using Cursed Speech to inflict psychological damage, then suggested that Yuta copy Nobara Kugisaki's Straw Doll Technique and attack from the rear.
  • Yuta hesitated at the proposal because copying Nobara's technique would require him to eat a body part from the unconscious sorcerer.

Ch. 54The Most Reasonable Tactics

Jie Jian rejected Megumi Fushiguro’s plan to send Mahoraga against Sukuna immediately and proposed saving it until Sukuna had been weakened. The sorcerers also agreed to use one of Sukuna’s fingers for Okkotsu’s Straw Doll Technique, and Jie Jian urged Megumi to wait for the right moment to summon Mahoraga.

  • Shoko Ieiri offered to remove some of Kugisaki’s flesh and blood for Okkotsu to use, and Yuji Itadori agreed to the plan.
  • Okkotsu said they could use a Sukuna finger secretly kept by Satoru Gojo to perform the Straw Doll Technique.
  • Megumi Fushiguro volunteered to summon Mahoraga to hold Sukuna back, but Jie Jian warned that Sukuna had already adapted to its fighting style.
  • Jie Jian explained that Mahoraga could be their best chance to defeat Sukuna if the sorcerers first depleted Sukuna’s strength.
  • Jie Jian told Megumi to keep Mahoraga out of the early battle and summon it only after Sukuna had been worn down.

Ch. 55The Order of Fighting Sukuna

Jie Jian organized the sorcerers’ plan to fight Sukuna in waves, with Fushiguro prepared to summon Mahoraga as a last resort. After revealing cursed energy greater than anyone expected, Jie Jian agreed to lead the first wave alongside Ryu Ishigori, while Okkotsu doubted they could weaken Sukuna enough.

  • Fushiguro agreed to wait until the end to summon Mahoraga, despite the danger that he would die.
  • Jie Jian proposed fighting Sukuna in waves and volunteered to face him first.
  • Ryu Ishigori challenged Jie Jian, but Jie Jian revealed an overwhelming amount of cursed energy that silenced Ryu and shocked the others.
  • Okkotsu suggested that Ryu support Jie Jian from a distance with his Cursed Energy Cannon, and they agreed to fight Sukuna together on the morning of the twenty-first.
  • Okkotsu doubted Jie Jian and Ryu could wear Sukuna down and wished Satoru Gojo were still there to defeat him.

Ch. 56Pre-Battle Special Training

Jie Jian and the sorcerers finalized a plan to fight Sukuna, with Higuruma set to use Deadly Sentencing if an opening arose. After learning that Jie Jian could not use Domain Expansion, the group questioned whether he should lead the fight, but he insisted he could learn Simple Domain in time.

  • Higuruma volunteered to fight first and explained that his domain could Confiscate Sukuna's cursed technique or give him an Executioner's Sword.
  • Jie Jian demonstrated that he could interrupt Higuruma before Deadly Sentencing was complete, then advised him to wait until Sukuna was distracted before using his domain.
  • The sorcerers settled on a battle plan involving Jie Jian and Ryu Ishigori fighting first, followed by Higuruma and the other fighters, with Megumi Fushiguro and Yuta Okkotsu as later contingencies.
  • Panda encouraged Okkotsu, who worried about being left to finish the fight if his companions fell.
  • Yuji pointed out that Jie Jian could not use Domain Expansion, and Jie Jian promised to learn Simple Domain or Falling Blossom Emotion before facing Sukuna.

Ch. 57The Decisive Battle in Tokyo, the Inhuman Demon Realm!

In the week before the decisive battle with Sukuna, the sorcerers trained and prepared while Jie Jian failed to learn Simple Domain. Despite the danger of facing Sukuna without it, Jie Jian insisted on going first, and the chapter ended as the day of the battle arrived.

  • Yuji Itadori consumed the remaining Cursed Womb: Death Paintings, learned Blood Manipulation and a crude version of Shrine, and trained in Simple Domain.
  • Yuta Okkotsu learned the Straw Doll Technique and recruited Nobara Kugisaki's grandmother to help fight Sukuna.
  • The sorcerers trained for seven days, improving their abilities while Jie Jian remained unable to learn Simple Domain despite repeated soul swaps with Atsuya Kusakabe.
  • Yuta Okkotsu and Ryu Ishigori urged Jie Jian to let someone else face Sukuna first, but Jie Jian insisted on taking the opening fight and said he had a way to deal with Malevolent Shrine.
  • Yuji Itadori and the others wished Jie Jian luck, and the sun rose on the day of the decisive battle against Sukuna.

Ch. 58You're the Challenger!

Jie Jian finally appeared in Tokyo and ambushed Sukuna with a tank full of excrement and a devastating lightning strike. After badly injuring Sukuna, Jie Jian declared that Sukuna was the challenger.

  • Jujutsu Society watched Mei Mei’s livestream as Sukuna waited alone in evacuated Tokyo, and Yuji feared Jie Jian had fled.
  • Okkotsu reassured the others that Jie Jian would not run, noting that Ryu had left with him.
  • Dark clouds gathered over Tokyo, and Sukuna sensed Jie Jian’s cursed energy above them.
  • Jie Jian dropped an iron tank that Sukuna sliced apart, releasing a shower of excrement that forced Sukuna to flee.
  • Jie Jian struck Sukuna with lightning, destroying one arm and nearly half his body, then appeared before him and called him the challenger.

Ch. 59Sukuna Suppressed?!

Jie Jian and his allies used a concealed setup to blast Sukuna and force him to restore his body in his ancient true form. Sukuna then struggled to keep up with Jie Jian’s lightning-fast attacks before preparing to use Domain Expansion.

  • Momo Nishimiya hid Ryu Ishigori, Utahime Iori, Yoshinobu Gakuganji, and the iron can in the clouds while Ryu concealed them from Sukuna and Utahime and Yoshinobu boosted Jie Jian’s cursed energy.
  • Jie Jian distracted Sukuna with the iron can and struck him with a powerful Thunder Cannon, heavily damaging his body.
  • Sukuna transformed into his ancient true form and completely restored his body, then dismissed Jie Jian’s attack as a lucky sneak attack.
  • Jie Jian repeatedly teleported behind Sukuna and kicked him through the air, while the livestream viewers watched in shock.
  • Sukuna unleashed slashes in every direction to force Jie Jian back, then formed the Yama Hand Seal to begin Domain Expansion.

Ch. 60Domain Expansion vs. Technique Release

Okkotsu used the Straw Doll Technique to wound and interrupt Sukuna, but Sukuna still expanded Malevolent Shrine and struck Jie Jian with its guaranteed-hit slashes. Jie Jian revealed that Technique Release transformed him into a lightning beast, allowing his severed body to reconnect as he attacked Sukuna.

  • Okkotsu drove a nail into the straw doll linked to Sukuna's Fingers, making Sukuna spit blood and briefly stalling his Domain Expansion.
  • Jie Jian rushed in and sent Sukuna flying, but Sukuna recovered and expanded Malevolent Shrine.
  • Yuji Itadori and the Jujutsu High students worried because Jie Jian could not use Simple Domain, while Jie Jian revealed he had anticipated Sukuna's domain and called for Technique Release.
  • Sukuna's domain slashed Jie Jian apart, but Jie Jian's fragments transformed into lightning and became a gigantic Thunder Giant Bear.
  • Jie Jian attacked Sukuna, and though Sukuna's slashes cut his arm apart, lightning reconnected it, leaving Jie Jian resistant to physical damage as long as his thunder remained.

Ch. 61The Strongest Record Is Etched into Tokyo!

Jie Jian, Ryu Ishigori, and Okkotsu coordinated their attacks to trap Sukuna and hit him with Jie Jian’s Thunder Breath. Sukuna was pierced through, and Kusakabe declared that Jie Jian had won.

  • Jie Jian transformed into a lightning life-form and battered Sukuna, whose slashes could not harm him effectively.
  • Ryu Ishigori fired Cursed Energy Cannons at Sukuna from a distant rooftop while Jie Jian attacked up close.
  • Jie Jian pulled back to prepare Thunder Breath and asked Ryu Ishigori to hold Sukuna for three seconds.
  • Sukuna used Hachi: Spiderweb to intercept Ryu Ishigori’s cannons and tried to escape, but Okkotsu immobilized him with Straw Doll Technique: Resonance.
  • Jie Jian fired Thunder Breath, piercing Sukuna and carving a long crater through the ground.
  • Yuji Itadori watched in disbelief as Kusakabe announced that Jie Jian had won.

Ch. 62After the Rain Stops, I Will Die

Jie Jian survived Sukuna’s Furnace: Open and drew on the storm to restore his body and cursed energy. He stood ready to fight Sukuna again.

  • After Jie Jian’s Thunder Breath left only a charred arm behind, Sukuna emerged from the ruins and prepared Furnace: Open.
  • Okkotsu used Straw Doll Technique: Resonance, but Sukuna’s Binding Vow redirected its effects to his arm, which he sacrificed to escape the restraint.
  • Sukuna used the dust spread across the battlefield to amplify Furnace: Open and engulf Jie Jian in an enormous explosion.
  • Jie Jian collapsed in the aftermath but resolved that he could not fall while Sukuna still threatened Okkotsu and the world.
  • Jie Jian called on the storm with “Thunder God, Aid Me!” and lightning restored his body and replenished his cursed energy.
  • Jie Jian stood before Sukuna, fully restored, and challenged him to fight again.

Ch. 63We're Pure Love!

Jie Jian gained the advantage over Sukuna by replenishing himself with lightning from storm clouds, but Yorozu intervened and Sukuna persuaded her to fight for him. The chapter ended with Sukuna using a Binding Vow to boost Yorozu’s cursed energy, reversing the battle’s momentum.

  • Jie Jian used the storm clouds to restore his body while Sukuna dodged his attacks and Ryu Ishigori’s Cursed Energy Cannons.
  • Ryu Ishigori destroyed Sukuna’s foothold, and Jie Jian’s lightning-wrapped fist nearly struck him before Yorozu blocked it with a metal barrier.
  • Yorozu used her Construction Technique to redirect Jie Jian’s lightning, while Ryu Ishigori’s cannon shattered her barrier.
  • Sukuna dispelled Malevolent Shrine and entered Cursed Technique Burnout, then told Yorozu he loved her and promised her his future, soul, and body.
  • Yorozu’s joy and Sukuna’s Binding Vow dramatically increased her cursed energy, prompting Jie Jian to accuse Sukuna of using a womanizing trick.

Ch. 64The Strongest King of Curses Is Engraved Upon Tokyo

Jie Jian unleashed Thunder Breath at Sukuna and Yorozu, but Yorozu evaded it while carrying Sukuna above the clouds. Sukuna then used Malevolent Shrine and Furnace: Open to destroy Jie Jian’s thunderstorm clouds, leaving Jie Jian without his source of replenishing cursed energy.

  • Sukuna had Yorozu carry him into the sky to escape Jie Jian’s coming Thunder Breath and destroy the storm clouds.
  • Ryu Ishigori fired his Cursed Energy Cannon at Sukuna and Yorozu as they flew, while Yorozu dodged the attacks.
  • Jie Jian unleashed Thunder Breath and swept it across the sky, but Yorozu evaded until the attack ran out.
  • Sukuna expanded Malevolent Shrine above the clouds and used Furnace: Open to blast apart Jie Jian’s storm.
  • Yuji Itadori realized Jie Jian could no longer replenish his cursed energy, and Yorozu declared that Sukuna would win.

Ch. 65Sorry, Excuse Me, Coming Through

As his Lightning Form collapsed, Jie Jian used a Binding Vow to exchange his elemental body, size, strength, and cursed energy for a powerful physical body and extraordinary self-healing. He emerged as a seemingly cursed-energy-free fighter and struck Sukuna and Yorozu with overwhelming speed and force.

  • Sukuna recognized that Jie Jian was running out of strength after the thunderstorm clouds were destroyed, while Hakari and Maki rushed to the battlefield.
  • Jie Jian's Lightning Form began collapsing, and he decided to try a new way to survive instead of relying on Reverse Cursed Technique.
  • Jie Jian's lightning body condensed into a blue sphere, which cracked apart to reveal his new physical form.
  • Jie Jian explained that a Binding Vow had traded away his elemental body, size, strength, and cursed energy for a powerful body and the strongest self-healing ability.
  • Jie Jian moved behind Sukuna and Yorozu and struck them with a flurry of impacts, leaving Sukuna kneeling and Yorozu badly injured.

Ch. 66Shout My Name!

Jie Jian gained a powerful physical body through a Binding Vow and resumed fighting Sukuna, who planned to stall until his Domain Expansion recovered. Yorozu rose as a Vengeful Spirit and bound herself to Sukuna after he called for her.

  • Shoko Ieiri explained that Jie Jian had formed his Binding Vow while reconstructing his body after Technique Release.
  • Jie Jian dodged Sukuna’s attacks and punched him through the ruins, while Sukuna repaired himself and planned to wait out his Cursed Technique Burnout.
  • Yorozu’s blood stirred, and she emerged as a powerful Vengeful Spirit, driven by her desire to marry Sukuna.
  • Sukuna called to Yorozu, who wrapped her metal-serpent body around him and demanded that he say he wanted to be with her.
  • Sukuna shouted, “Yorozu! Be with me! Evil Yorozu Entanglement!”

Ch. 67Bro, Don't Throw Your Life Away!

Sukuna merged with Yorozu, gaining metal armor, enhanced abilities, and a replenished supply of cursed energy. As Maki Zenin, Kinji Hakari, and Ryu Ishigori joined the fight, Sukuna killed Ryu Ishigori while rushing to resume his battle with Jie Jian.

  • Jie Jian attacked Yorozu to stop her from merging with Sukuna, but her metal body resisted his blow and swallowed Sukuna.
  • Yorozu compressed into black metal armor around Sukuna, boosting his strength, defense, and speed while replenishing his cursed energy.
  • Maki Zenin and Kinji Hakari ambushed Sukuna, but he dodged both attacks and shrugged off Hakari's impact.
  • Ryu Ishigori fired Cursed Energy Cannons at Sukuna, then Jie Jian warned him that Sukuna was charging.
  • Sukuna rushed past Jie Jian and killed Ryu Ishigori with a slash across his face.

Ch. 68Iron Man Soloes the Arena!

Jie Jian found a way to separate Yorozu from Sukuna and trap Sukuna in Higuruma’s Domain Expansion, Deadly Sentencing. The chapter left Jie Jian outside the Domain with Yorozu, whom he kicked away as Sukuna faced judgment inside.

  • Jie Jian kept fighting Sukuna while Kinji Hakari and Maki Zenin retreated from the battlefield.
  • Jie Jian used an opening to grab Sukuna and signal Ui Ui to bring Higuruma and Yuji Itadori into the fight.
  • Higuruma activated Deadly Sentencing and pulled Sukuna and Yuji Itadori into the Domain, forcing Yorozu out.
  • Yorozu tried to enter the Domain to reach Sukuna, but Jie Jian kicked her into the ruins and vowed to kill her with a cursed tool.

Ch. 69No Honor Among Outlaws!

Kinji Hakari, Maki Zenin, and Choso returned to the battlefield as Jie Jian and the others attacked Yorozu while Higuruma trapped Sukuna in his domain. After Yorozu was defeated, Jie Jian and Maki entered the courtroom and attacked Sukuna, who could not fight back under the domain’s rules.

  • Kinji Hakari, Maki Zenin, and Choso arrived on the battlefield, and Maki gave Jie Jian an iron staff delivered by Ui Ui.
  • Jie Jian led the others in attacking Yorozu while Higuruma’s Deadly Sentencing domain began Sukuna’s trial.
  • Sukuna confessed to the Shibuya deaths, but Higuruma objected and stalled the trial to give the others time to defeat Yorozu.
  • Jie Jian defeated Yorozu, entered the domain, and kicked Sukuna while Higuruma’s rules prevented Sukuna from retaliating.
  • Maki Zenin entered the courtroom and joined Jie Jian in attacking Sukuna, cutting off one of his arms as Higuruma ignored their violence.

Ch. 70It's Up to You Now

Higuruma confiscated Sukuna’s slashing technique and gave Jie Jian the Executioner’s Sword, but Kenjaku ambushed Higuruma after Ui Ui returned him to Jujutsu High. With the sword shattered and Sukuna’s technique restored, Jie Jian shoved Sukuna away from the others as Malevolent Shrine began, taking a barrage of Hachi slashes himself.

  • Jie Jian urged Higuruma to sentence Sukuna before his technique recovered, and Judgeman imposed Confiscation and the death penalty.
  • Higuruma handed Jie Jian the Executioner’s Sword and left with Ui Ui, but the sword shattered when Kenjaku attacked Higuruma at Jujutsu High.
  • Okkotsu and Mei Mei discovered Kenjaku’s invasion, while Kusakabe and Takuma Ino reacted to the attack at the teleportation coordinate.
  • Sukuna recovered his technique and began forming the hand seal for Malevolent Shrine.
  • Jie Jian shoved Sukuna away from Yuji Itadori and the others, allowing Sukuna’s Hachi slashes to tear through him at close range.

Ch. 71Epilogue

Jie Jian died after stopping Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine, then watched the battle continue and learned how Yuta-Jie Jian ultimately defeated Sukuna. The world’s later history followed Yuta’s rise, Gojo’s release, and Gojo’s final battle against Dabura before observation ended.

  • Jie Jian smashed Sukuna into the ground, interrupting his domain, and died after urging Yuji to take his final ripple.
  • In the System Space, Jie Jian learned he could watch what happened after his death and saw Yuji, Kinji Hakari, Maki, and Choso attack Sukuna while Yuta defeated Kenjaku.
  • Jujutsu High reassembled Jie Jian’s body, and Yuta used Kenjaku’s brain-swapping technique to pilot it as Yuta-Jie Jian and exhaust Sukuna before defeating him with Thunder Breath.
  • Yuta inherited the Gojo family leadership, resisted the Jujutsu Higher-Ups, and later helped secure the Black Rope that freed Satoru Gojo after nearly twenty-two years.
  • Decades later, Satoru Gojo led Jujutsu Society against Dabura, returned calling the fight satisfying, and died peacefully at age seventy-eight as observation of the world ended.

Ch. 72I Said I Was Going to Start Adapting—Are You Deaf?!

After watching the world observation end with Satoru Gojo’s death, Jie Jian received his challenge settlement and argued with the system over his missing cursed techniques. He gained the Adaptive Evolution skill and discovered his cursed energy had reached the level of twenty-finger Sukuna.

  • Jie Jian watched Satoru Gojo’s final years, duel with Dabura, and death two years later.
  • Jie Jian saw the system settle the challenge, recording twelve failures and awarding him increased cursed energy and control, improved combat skills and resistance, and Adaptive Evolution.
  • Jie Jian demanded to know why he had received no cursed techniques, and the system explained that difficult battles determined the odds of gaining one.
  • Jie Jian learned that he had already gained Undying Thunder by defeating Hajime Kashimo, and regretted not fighting Ryu Ishigori seriously.
  • Jie Jian checked his panel and saw that his cursed energy matched twenty-finger Sukuna’s and that Adaptive Evolution let him identify weaknesses and develop counters.

Ch. 73Killer Queen, It Was

Jie Jian began his thirteenth challenge at the ocean revival point and used his new Adaptive Evolution skill to copy Deer God's charge-separation technique. After killing the sorcerer who ambushed him, Jie Jian demonstrated that he could adapt the technique to make both charges react inside an enemy and explode.

  • Jie Jian started the thirteenth challenge and recognized the ocean revival point where he had landed during an earlier challenge.
  • Jie Jian used an explosion of lightning cursed energy to propel himself across the sea and land safely on shore.
  • A suited man repeated his earlier questions, while a short ancient sorcerer attacked Jie Jian from behind a shipping container.
  • Jie Jian blocked the ambush, mocked the short sorcerer, then struck him with lightning and caused his head to explode.
  • Jie Jian adapted Deer God's charge-separation technique, learning to inject positive and negative charges into an enemy at the same time.

Ch. 74Have You Ever Seen a Special Grade Sorcerer?!

Jie Jian sought out Hajime Kashimo to learn anti-domain techniques, releasing his immense cursed energy to draw Kashimo into a confrontation. After insisting that a sorcerer without Domain Expansion could not be Special Grade, Jie Jian asked Kashimo whether he qualified, and Kashimo admitted he thought he did.

  • Jie Jian left the shipping container after killing his attacker and spared the coerced office worker.
  • Jie Jian headed for the mall to find Hajime Kashimo and learn techniques to resist Domain Expansion.
  • Kashimo sensed Jie Jian’s overwhelming cursed energy and rushed out of the mall, briefly mistaking him for Sukuna.
  • Jie Jian claimed he was only a Grade 1 Sorcerer because he could not use Domain Expansion, then argued that Special Grade Sorcerers needed domains.
  • Jie Jian asked Kashimo if he was a Special Grade Sorcerer, and Kashimo eventually answered that he thought he was.

Ch. 75Still Thinking Like the Strong

Jie Jian met Hajime Kashimo in the Tokyo No. 2 Colony, where their tense conversation was interrupted by Angel, who mistook Jie Jian's cursed energy for Sukuna's. Kashimo's frustration at being ignored led to a fight, and Jie Jian revealed that his lightning technique could absorb Kashimo's attacks.

  • Jie Jian asked Hajime Kashimo whether he could use a domain, but Kashimo refused to answer, and both prepared to fight.
  • Angel arrived after sensing Jie Jian's cursed energy and asked whether he was an incarnated ancient sorcerer; Jie Jian said he was modern, while Kashimo revealed that he was ancient.
  • Angel focused on Jie Jian and barely acknowledged Kashimo, who angrily announced he would fight her instead.
  • Jie Jian stopped Kashimo from charging Angel, but Kashimo attacked Jie Jian with lightning, forcing him to release Kashimo and retreat.
  • Jie Jian showed that he could absorb electricity and was unharmed by Kashimo's lightning, but Kashimo resolved to fight him anyway.
