Jigen Arrives

The next morning, after breakfast with Genji, Qing Si got dressed and prepared to head to the lake for the day's training.

Outside the village, a monk slowly approached from afar, wearing an elegant, fitted white long-sleeved tailcoat and loose black trousers. It was Jigen.

"I've finally found you!" a muttered whisper came.

Jigen identified the aura and slowly made his way toward Qing Si's Household.

The remote fishing village rarely saw outsiders to begin with. Jigen was even heading straight for Qing Si's Household, immediately drawing the vigilance of the two jonin.

The two used the Body Flicker Technique to appear before Jigen and block his path. "Hey, who are you?" asked the jonin named Kaguya Sugito loudly.

"Heh." Jigen looked at them disdainfully, his expression blank. "Hidden Mist ninja... That aura. Are you descendants of the Kaguya Lineage?"

"Damn it, stop talking to yourself! Who are you, and what are you here for?" The other jonin, Kaguya Shinya, could not help but snap at Jigen's arrogant attitude.

Seeing that Jigen did not respond, the two knew that he had likely come with ill intent. They exchanged a glance and decided to strike first.

Sugito stomped heavily on the ground with his right foot and charged at Jigen at tremendous speed. Chakra burst from his body and wrapped around his right fist as he threw a heavy punch at Jigen. At the same time, Shinya rapidly formed hand seals behind him, preparing a ninjutsu attack.

Jigen calmly sidestepped Sugito's heavy punch, turned, raised his leg, and kicked Sugito in the abdomen.

"So fast!" Sugito was struck before he could react, his body flying uncontrollably to the side.

Jigen extended his right hand toward the kicked-away Sugito. Several black rods appeared instantly and pierced various parts of Sugito's body.

"Ah!" Sugito cried out in pain. "My chakra is being continuously drained!"

At the same time, Shinya had finished preparing his ninjutsu. "Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!" Torrential water gathered in the air into the shape of a dragon and surged swiftly toward Jigen.

"Then I'll play with you for a bit." Jigen spoke flatly, then slightly shifted aside to evade the incoming water dragon.

"Don't look down on me!" Shinya shouted furiously.

He then rushed at Jigen and threw a punch, only for Jigen to casually block it. Failing to land the blow, Shinya immediately kicked off the ground and leaped into the air, his hands rapidly forming seals. "Water Release: Water Fang Bullet!"

Water condensed in a spiraling motion, then shot out a large number of water spears at Jigen.

At the same time, Shinya adjusted himself in midair and charged down at Jigen once more. His hands kept forming seals, and a spinning water blade appeared in his hand.

"Water Release: Water Fang Blade!"

Jigen flashed aside to avoid the incoming water spears, then seized the hand holding Shinya's condensed water blade. Before Shinya could react, the water blade dissipated.

"Is this all the Hidden Mist ninja can do?" Jigen mocked calmly.

"Damn it!" Shinya roared as he attacked Jigen again. His rage had nearly made him lose all form, leaving him to fight solely on the Kaguya Clan's powerful physical instincts.

"Don't make me waste more effort. My purpose has nothing to do with you." Jigen effortlessly evaded all of Shinya's attacks as he spoke in a completely even tone.

With that, he raised his right hand toward Shinya again. An invisible wave of chakra blasted Shinya away, and several black rods instantly pinned him to the ground as well.

"Boring." Jigen sighed. No longer paying the two any attention, he walked directly toward his target.

The sounds of battle close by, along with the fluctuations of chakra and ninjutsu, had long since been sensed by Qing Si and Genji. Genji's expression was grave as he said to Qing Si, "It looks like he's coming for our Household. I'll cover you. You go first!"

However, before Qing Si could even leave the courtyard, the sounds of battle outside had already stopped.

This won't be easy today. To defeat two Kaguya Clan jonin in such a short time... Though they were ordinary jonin who had not awakened their bloodline limit, even I couldn't have done it that quickly before, Genji thought grimly.

For my son, it seems I'll have to risk my life today. Genji silently made up his mind.

Jigen walked at an unhurried pace. His confidence in his own strength left him in no rush at all.

When he arrived before Qing Si, a trace of excitement finally appeared on his perpetually expressionless face.

"Come, mortal! Become one with a god!" Jigen shouted at Qing Si in a fanatical tone.

Qing Si's expression turned extremely grim as he looked at Jigen, who had approached him.

He recognized this monk-like man before him: Isshiki Otsutsuki's vessel, Jigen, the leader of the Kara Organization in Boruto.

"Though there are still several decades before Boruto, Isshiki Otsutsuki's injuries should only be worse now. But he is still a genuine Otsutsuki! What a disastrous start!" Qing Si, who had only recently awakened the memories of his previous life, lamented inwardly.

Having seen scenes of Kawaki and Isshiki Otsutsuki, Qing Si sensed the completely undisguised malice Jigen held toward him and clearly understood what Isshiki Otsutsuki wanted to do.

Qing Si had never encountered other ninja before and did not understand ninja combat methods, but against Jigen, whom he had already identified as an enemy, he targeted Jigen's vital points the moment he attacked.

As Isshiki Otsutsuki's vessel, Jigen likewise possessed the Otsutsuki Clan's lofty disdain for ordinary people. Qing Si was merely a young boy, and most of Isshiki's consciousness was still asleep. Caught off guard by Qing Si's calculated attack and his own carelessness, Jigen was struck hard by the Dance of the Clematis.

Although Jigen's body had become incredibly strong after a thousand years of training, he had encountered the Dead Bone Pulse, strengthened by chakra and regarded as the hardest substance in the Shinobi World. Jigen still suffered a minor injury and was knocked several steps back.

"Cough!" Jigen climbed up from the ground. "I underestimated you, insect. You actually managed to hurt me!"

"Qing Si, stand back! This isn't an enemy you can handle. I'll stop him. Run!" Genji stepped between Qing Si and Jigen and shouted at Qing Si.

"Another one coming to die?" Jigen's expression did not change.

Genji held both arms level, his ten fingers pointed at Jigen.

"Dead Bone Pulse: Ten-Finger Bullet!"

Ten white bone bullets flew from his fingertips and accelerated toward Jigen. Jigen did not dodge. He spread the fingers of his right hand, materializing a long black rod. Grasping it in his right hand, Jigen swept it across the incoming bone bullets, and the chakra storm it unleashed perfectly defended against the rapidly approaching projectiles.

He's strong. Time to risk my life! Genji thought. He slowly formed hand seals with both hands while shouting aloud.

"Go now!"

"Yes, Father. Take care!" Tears filled Qing Si's eyes as he looked at Genji, the only father he had known in both his lives. He knew his father was about to use a forbidden technique.

"Dead Bone Pulse: Blood Burning Technique!" After completing twenty hand seals, Genji's solemn voice rang out, each word heavy and distinct.
