Ling Chen entered the Purple Extreme Sect’s inner sect around the same time as Ye Yun. When Ye Yun rose onto the Hundred Strong Ranking, Ling Chen was surprised but treated his junior’s success as motivation to cultivate harder rather than fall behind. 39

As the young master of the Myriad Treasures Pavilion, Ling Chen provided Ye Yun with commercial connections, market knowledge, and access to rare resources. He readily agreed to handle Ye Yun’s large and potentially sensitive transactions, including goods worth hundreds of thousands of taels of gold, and promised to keep suspicious merchandise out of the Great Chu Dynasty. 60 84

After being pursued into Profound Yin Ravine and cornered by a giant serpent Phantom Beast King, Ling Chen and Li Qinglian were rescued by Ye Yun.
