The next day.
When Hu Liena woke up, she suddenly discovered someone else beside her.
"Ah—"
A shrill scream sharp enough to rupture eardrums tore through the air, loud enough for even those outside the hotel to hear.
However, the people of Slaughter City seemed long accustomed to such screams. They had developed a strong immunity to them, each going about their business without changing expression, with no intention of meddling.
Covering his ears, Yang Ming climbed out from under the covers and shot Hu Liena an irritated glare. She had curled up in the corner, using the blanket to cover most of her body.
Hu Liena looked at Yang Ming with complicated eyes as fragmented memories from yesterday flooded into her mind like a tide.
She finally remembered that yesterday, she had been the one to ask Yang Ming for help, asking him to treat her. Yet during the treatment, Hu Liena had felt as though she were immersed in amniotic fluid, warm and comfortable all over. Even the nerves that had remained tense after two straight weeks of nightmares and sleepless nights had finally relaxed. Then... then it seemed that she had taken the initiative with Yang Ming...
