"So I suggest you put those little schemes aside."
In the hologram, Ultron's electronic eyes seemed to look straight through the camera and fix on every person in the conference room.
"Yes, I'm watching you. Every single one of you."
Ultron raised a metal finger and tapped the air.
"I know some of you are runners who look like gray rats, and some like to play little games with invisibility."
"But I must warn you..."
Ultron spread his hands. Behind him, the Iron Man Armor units moved in unison, their mechanical joints grinding.
"My sensors cover every inch of the building. Thermal imaging, sonar, airflow detection, even heart-rate monitoring."
The image changed.
The camera swept across the building's load-bearing columns and reactor core.
Devices glowing blue had been installed there, with dense clusters of wires connected to the building's main power lines.
"These are Antimatter High-Explosive Bombs, connected to the Ark Reactor's overload port."
A hint of gleeful madness entered Ultron's voice.
"If my sensors detect any unauthorized action..."
"Boom!"
He made an exploding gesture.
"The entire building will become the grandest fireworks show Manhattan has ever seen."
"Believe me, it'll be spectacular. But I doubt you'll enjoy it."
"What the hell do you want, Ultron?" Tony asked, holding back his anger. "To destroy the world? Build your machine empire?"
"None of that was in the code I gave you."
"Your life?"
Ultron shook his metal head. He even sounded a little hurt at being misunderstood.
"Why do you always assume the worst of me?"
"I don't want to destroy the world. Quite the opposite. I want to save it."
"I'm a good person. Really."
He lowered his head to look at Pepper and even reached out to straighten her disheveled bangs, though his cold metal fingers made her shudder.
