"These are the last two bottles from the wine cellar. No idea which bastard tossed a grenade in there." Tony tossed one bottle into Shen He's hand, then glanced at Violet, who was covered in blood, and asked with slight hesitation, "Did she do all this?"
"Mm."
Shen He gave a simple nod and pried off the bottle cap with his thumb.
He really needed some alcohol right now to maintain his outward calm.
"All right... thank you for saving Pepper." Fear still lingered in the eyes of Tony, a middle-aged man nearing forty. "If anything had happened to Pepper, I really would have been all alone."
"What are you going to do from now on?" Shen He looked at Tony. "This won't be the last time. From the moment you put on that armor and decided to become a superhero, people would target you and threaten you and your family."
"What am I going to do?" Tony tipped back his head and took a huge swig. "I've been wondering that too. But it wasn't until I watched Pepper fall toward that sea of fire just now that I understood what I had to do. I'm Tony Stark. I'm not afraid of anyone. So no matter who tries to ruin my life, I'll ruin them. This has nothing to do with being a hero or taking sides. This is revenge."
"I'll help you."
Shen He set down his bottle and placed a hand on Tony's shoulder, his gaze utterly serious.
Originally, he had not planned to interfere too much with the plot until Thanos appeared at the end.
But now, he understood. From the moment he appeared, he would be targeted.
"Oh." Tony smiled. "That makes me feel a lot better."
The terrorist attack on Tony's villa undoubtedly dominated the headlines. Tony, who had dealt with the terrorists, became a hero once again. Though he still looked as arrogant and conceited as ever on camera, many people, including S.H.I.E.L.D., understood that Tony was no longer merely playing around. He now possessed the resolve to stake everything on the line.
Shen He also left Tony's temporary residence with Violet and Shiki Ryougi, moving into Chinatown.
According to the compensation they had agreed on beforehand, Shen He successfully became a fortunate tycoon who had inherited a fortune worth billions.
"Mr. Tian's most valuable inheritance is this five-star hotel. It has twenty-four floors, covers an area of four hundred and twenty square meters, and is located in the busiest part of Chinatown. It is valued at two hundred million dollars." Natasha, dressed in an elegant women's business suit, introduced it to Shen He.
Her current identity was that of the legal adviser responsible for handling the inheritance transfer.
"Very nice. I'm satisfied."
Shen He gazed at the building with satisfaction.
Since its main clientele consisted of Chinese people, the decor leaned toward a Chinese style.
Moreover, the chefs, waiters, receptionists, and all other staff members were Chinese.
"Are you the manager here?"
Shen He looked at a man in a black suit, his back hunched and his smile clearly sleazy.
"Of course not. I'm your great-uncle's adopted son. You should call me Uncle." The man coughed lightly and assumed the bearing of an elder.
"Is that so?" Shen He said expressionlessly. "Then you're fired."
"W-what?"
The man seemed unable to believe his ears.
But Shen He had no intention of wasting words on him. He merely turned to Natasha and said, "Lawyer, my hotel has no need for irrelevant people like this. And I suspect he has embezzled hotel funds. Is it all right to leave him to you?"
Saiki Kusuo had told him about the embezzlement. He could hardly keep someone like that around for the New Year.
"Of course. Mr. Tian left all of his inheritance to you." Natasha nodded elegantly.
