The driver and the child's mother stared at each other, then glanced around, but they could not see anyone.

In today's world, superheroes and supervillains were everywhere. They assumed that a passing superhero had saved the child and spared the driver from an accident.
It was just a pity they did not know who that hero was, so they could not spread his name.
