The moment Thor heard that, he panicked. With a swing of his hammer, he vanished from where he stood.
"Your Majesty, we'll talk later." Apocalypse hurriedly said goodbye.
Sif gave a quick bow and followed him out.
Rainbow Bridge.
At this moment, the Rainbow Bridge shone brilliantly. Within the translucent crystal, countless streams of energy surged toward the Rainbow Control Room.
The circular pointer-like device in the Rainbow Control Room emitted a powerful beam that crossed Asgard's cosmic sea and vanished into the dark void of space.
Its energy level was ten thousand times greater than during teleportation.
There was no need to guess. That seven-colored divine light had to be aimed at the Frost Giants' lair—Jotunheim.
The seven-colored divine light could be strong or weak. If properly controlled, it could form a rainbow passage and teleport people anywhere in the universe.
But now that it had been amplified ten thousandfold, anyone who entered would be torn to powder. It was no longer a teleportation passage, but a passage of death.
Over in Jotunheim, divine light suddenly descended from the heavens and struck the Frost Giants' temple directly. The mountains collapsed and the earth split apart!
As more and more energy poured into the seven-colored divine light, the crust was continuously overturned. If it was not stopped, it would pierce the crust and detonate the planetary core.
When that happened, all of Jotunheim would explode into fragments like a balloon.
"Loki! What exactly are you trying to do?" Thor demanded sharply.
Loki said, "What am I doing? I'm proving to Father that I'm the one worthy of being his son! I saved his life, and I'll destroy the detestable race of Frost Giants. Then there will be no more need to worry about war between the two realms."
"You're being too reckless. We have no right to decide whether an entire race lives or dies. Stop this immediately."
On Earth, Thor had been willing to risk his life for ordinary humans. Now that he saw an entire race about to be wiped out, how could he possibly agree to it?
"Hahaha, it's already too late to stop. My brother, just sit back and enjoy the show."
Thor flew into a rage and shot a bolt of lightning straight at Loki.
Where the lightning passed, Loki vanished. It had been an illusion.
The real Loki suddenly appeared behind Thor. Divine light burst from his scepter, nearly knocking Thor off the Rainbow Bridge.
With a flick of his hand, Thor sent Thor's Hammer flying. But when it struck Loki, he found that it had become an illusion.
Thor did not want to waste time fighting him. He charged straight toward the Rainbow Control Room, only for Loki to ambush him halfway there, leaving him unable to break free.
"Don, go to the control room and pull out the Guardian Sword."
"Got it!"
Apocalypse charged straight toward the control room.
Suddenly, Loki appeared before Apocalypse, raised his scepter, and thrust it straight at him.
Without even thinking, Apocalypse suddenly grew what looked like eight arms. Above and below, left and right, front and back, he threw a wild barrage of flailing punches.
For a moment, afterimages filled the air. Aside from the two legs planted on the ground, his entire upper body seemed to be nothing but arms!
Bang bang bang bang bang... A dense series of air explosions rang out like firecrackers.
Suddenly, one of the arms at his side clenched around something solid.
Bang!
The real Loki fell out of thin air and slid dozens of meters away. His face twisted in pain, and his chest had caved in.
Trying to play illusions in front of me? I'll beat you to death!
Apocalypse did not have time to keep chasing Loki. Letting him go, he rushed to the Rainbow Control Room.
At that moment, the Rainbow Control Room was dazzlingly bright, with vast amounts of golden divine light pouring out.
Even with his eyes closed, the divine light still shone through his eyelids and pressed directly against his eyes, creating the illusion that it could blind him.
Apocalypse tried to charge inside, only to find that he could not get in at all.
The pressure of the light was too strong now, forming a natural energy barrier that protected the control room.
Apocalypse raised both hands before him and unleashed all his strength, forcing himself forward one step at a time.
He had not even pushed halfway through when the ground gave way. The hard floor had been crushed into powder by the immense pressure.
Unable to find footing, Apocalypse was immediately shoved back out.
He tried several more times, but there was nothing he could do.
Roar...
Since the gentle approach did not work, he would try brute force.
Apocalypse unleashed three times Hulk's strength and punched forward with all his might!
Unfortunately, although the force was immense, striking the light pressure felt like punching cotton. There was nothing solid to hit.
Apocalypse was secretly alarmed. Just a portion of the leaked energy was already this powerful. Even with three times Hulk's strength, he could not get close. How terrifying must the energy Jotunheim was enduring be?!
Sure enough, before power capable of destroying a planet, human strength still seemed far too insignificant.
"Thor, I can't get in. Let me borrow your hammer!"
Apocalypse extended a hand. Thor sensed his hammer being pulled and quickly released his control over it.
Thor's Hammer flew into Apocalypse's hand. Combining his immense strength with the power of lightning, he hurled it with all his might at the Guardian Sword.
It was useless!
Though it pushed in a little farther, it was still bounced back by the light pressure. Like a cannonball, it ricocheted past Apocalypse.
Damn it, even this doesn't work?! Apocalypse cursed inwardly.
No wonder Loki said it could not be stopped. Now, no matter who it was, they could not approach the control room until the energy ran out.
Apocalypse stepped back a few paces and thought for a moment.
He noticed that there was light pressure inside the control room, but not around the pointer device outside that emitted the Rainbow Light.
The device was spherical and spinning at high speed, with a pointer extending from its front!
It was only called a pointer from a planetary perspective. To a person, it was an enormous barrel.
The Rainbow Light shot out from the pointer and vanished into the void ahead.
In order to gather energy, the spherical device and the pointer were tightly sealed, with no divine light leaking out.
The moment Apocalypse saw it, he made a huge leap, soaring high into the air before landing beside the spherical pointer.
"Yah..."
Apocalypse pressed both hands against the rapidly spinning spherical device. The instant he touched it, his flesh was ground bloody and mangled. Even the Hulk physique that cannonballs could not pierce did not seem particularly formidable before this device.
Enduring the agonizing pain, Apocalypse exerted force with both hands and used his sheer strength to forcibly twist the pointer's direction, lifting it upward.
Thor, in the distance, was horrified and shouted, "Don, don't!"
Unfortunately, the rapidly spinning pointer was too noisy. Combined with the Rainbow Light shaking the void around them, nothing could be heard.
The massive beam of light was slowly lifted from the plane of the cosmic sea.
Thor was frantic!
His brother had lived on Earth his entire life and had never even gone into space. He had no basic knowledge of cosmology.
On Earth, the ground was solid and above it was empty space. When firing ceremonial guns or cannons, shooting upward would not hit anything.
But in the universe, there was no distinction between sky and earth. Galaxies existed in every direction.
Moreover, Asgard was not a planet, but a vast and strange flat continent, which gave Apocalypse an even stronger false impression.
And Apocalypse did not understand the properties of the Rainbow Bridge.
The Rainbow Light could pass through countless dimensions of time and space. Unless it encountered something solid, it would never dissipate.
Only objects on the scale of planets or larger could block divine light this intense.
By lifting it like this, Apocalypse was merely shifting the energy meant to destroy Jotunheim onto some unlucky planet somewhere in the universe.
As the Rainbow Pointer was raised, over on Jotunheim's surface, the divine light slowly swept across the continent, leaving behind a bottomless grand canyon.
Then, the divine light moved away from Jotunheim and cut into the cosmic void. Wherever it passed, space warped and stars vanished.
Who knew how many distant, unknown planets suffered this undeserved disaster!
Loki stood in the distance, staring at Apocalypse with a cold smile curling across his lips.
Thor no longer had time to fight Loki. He frantically waved his hands and shouted, "Don, don't push it!!!"
Seeing Thor's gestures, Apocalypse thought Thor was telling him to try harder. He shouted back, "Come help me! I can't lift it any higher."
Unfortunately, beneath the enormous buzzing roar of the spherical device, neither of them could hear the other.
Thor spun his hammer, intending to fly over and stop Apocalypse.
But then he reconsidered. As long as the Rainbow Light did not stop firing, going over would be useless. So long as the rainbow light continued shooting into the universe, planets would still suffer.
At that thought, Thor raised his hammer high and thought of the only solution!
Bang!
Thor's Hammer smashed viciously into the Rainbow Bridge.
Apocalypse panicked. Was Thor an idiot? He had already changed the plot, so why was he still smashing the Rainbow Bridge?
There were still beautiful wives waiting for him on Earth, and so many things he needed to do. He did not want to be trapped in Asgard for years.
Could it be that Thor thought he had not lifted it high enough? Then he would just try harder.
"Yah..."
Apocalypse roared, "Idiot, don't smash it!!"
Unfortunately, Thor could not hear him. Instead, he saw the light pointer move again in the cosmic void and became even more frantic.
Bang!
"Moron, don't push it!"
After the second blow, cracks began appearing in the Rainbow Bridge's crystal. This time, Apocalypse was enraged.
"Yah..."
"Don't smash it!"
Bang!
"Don't push it!"
"Yah..."
"Don't smash it!"
Bang!
"Don't push it!"
"Yah..."
Bang!
"Don't!!"
"No!!!!"
At last, this argument neither side could hear ended with Thor's victory.
Boom!!!
