Xandar was the capital of the Nova Empire, and the Nova Empire was an advanced civilization.

In the original plot, there were not many scenes that showcased the Nova Empire's strength.

Its biggest battle was stopping Ronan's mothership from charging into Xandar. They used thousands of small fighters to form a combined fighter net, forcibly preventing Ronan's mothership from landing.

If Ronan had not obtained the Power Stone at the time and borrowed the power of the Infinity Stones, he might not have succeeded.

There were also other ways to glimpse the empire's strength.

The Nova Empire had once fought the Kree civilization before ultimately signing a peace treaty.

Judging by Xandar's prosperity, the Nova Empire had clearly not suffered much in that civilizational war.

The Kree civilization was Ronan's parent civilization. It dominated countless star systems, leaned toward evil by nature, loved war, and was exceptionally tyrannical.

During her period of amnesia, Captain Marvel had been taken to Hala, the capital of the Kree civilization, where she briefly lived as a Kree.

She was later sent to hunt down the Skrulls. Had Captain Marvel not awakened in time, the Skrulls would likely have truly been exterminated.

Yet even such an overbearing civilization had no choice but to sign a humiliating treaty with the Nova Empire and coexist peacefully.

There was another scene in the original plot: Xandar's Nova Prime spoke with the Kree and accused them of indulging Ronan and provoking conflict.

If they did not restrain him, it might trigger a war between the two civilizations.

The fact that they dared speak that way to the Kree civilization showed the Nova Empire's confidence.

From this, it was clear that the Nova Empire's strength was at least no weaker than the Kree civilization's, perhaps even slightly superior.
