Apocalypse pursued Thanos to the Milky Way’s center, where Thanos used the Heart of the Universe to threaten Universe-616. After defeating Thanos and driving off the multiversal invaders, Apocalypse recovered and said he still needed one thing before taking the final step, then led the others back to Earth to meet someone.

• Apocalypse and Hela found Nidavellir’s Star Forge sealed and its Dwarves missing, then learned from a surviving Dwarf that Thanos had captured them.
• Apocalypse, Hela, and Captain Marvel found Thanos’s Stellar Web, freed Thor and Loki, and destroyed the Stellar Array before Apocalypse confronted Thanos at the Heart of the Universe.
• Thanos fused the Heart of the Universe into his body and battled Apocalypse across universes, while beings throughout the multiverse pledged their support to strengthen Apocalypse’s Fortune.
• Apocalypse and Captain Marvel blasted the Heart of the Universe out of Thanos, but Thanos opened passages that brought multiversal powerhouses into Universe-616 to fight over the heart and Apocalypse.
• The defenders of Universe-616 battled the invading powerhouses as Thor carried the wounded Apocalypse into the Heart of the Universe, where its energy restored him.
• Apocalypse awoke, revealed he had developed the Way of Truth, and killed the invading powerhouses who were not native to Universe-616.
• Apocalypse took the Heart of the Universe from Thanos and sent Thanos to endure Hell’s undead souls for ten thousand years.
• Apocalypse sealed the Heart of the Universe, restored Thor’s Hammer, and said he still lacked something needed for the final step before leading everyone back to Earth to meet someone.
