Background & Identity
Celine was created as a deliberately ordinary-looking lone-adventurer identity before the journey from Crowcandle Castle to Red Kite City-State. The persona concealed Isolde's existing connections, authority, and Rosalind-related relics, allowing her to travel with fewer political complications. Before departing, she entrusted Crowcandle Castle and its inn to Lia. 132
Her identity is not merely a conventional disguise. Matilda later confirmed that two distinct souls inhabit Celine's body, and Celine met Isolde directly within an inner realm resembling Crowcandle Castle. Isolde claimed that they had known one another far longer than Celine remembered, but refused to explain further. 212
A God-Witnessed Covenant later bypassed Witch's Mask and identified Celine by her undisclosed real name rather than her adopted persona. Celine consequently treats “Celine” as the name others should use, while recognizing that divine contracts may perceive her soul differently from ordinary people. 208
Appearance
Celine's standard adventurer appearance was designed to be capable but forgettable: a woman in her early twenties with dark-chestnut hair, light-brown eyes, and the sharp bearing of an experienced solo traveler. 132
- Uses Witch's Mask to alter facial features, hair, eye color, apparent class, and other identifying traits. 15 161
- Often wears a plain black mask in Secret Alley to prevent information brokers from identifying her. 161
- Favors practical clothing suitable for movement and combat. 150
- Her appearance is unreliable enough that Chloe identifies her more by instinct and scent than by sight. 175
Personality
Celine is pragmatic, skeptical, and highly protective of her independence. She consistently seeks money, manpower, information, and legal leverage because she refuses to place her survival in someone else’s hands again. 151
She approaches cooperation as a transaction of aligned interests rather than charity. This attitude defines her partnership with House Rosalind, her agreements with Chloe and Norani, and her negotiations with Golden Balance. 145 190 197
Despite her calculating manner, Celine repeatedly risks herself for others when doing nothing would be intolerable. She entered Red Well’s execution match to free Chloe from a control collar, protected the unconscious Norani during Samila’s attack, and showed genuine concern for Leora’s worsening health. 170 199 196
Abilities & Skills
Witch's Mask
A mutable disguise skill that underpins Celine's survival outside Crowcandle Castle.
- Alters her appearance and helps conceal her attributes, faction, title, and true identity. 15 161
- Can imitate the appearance and class of individuals she has devoured. 15
- Allows her to present conflicting impressions to investigators; Red Well spectators variously identified her as an Evil Affinity assassin, Holy mage, or Common Affinity user. 169
- Cannot reliably deceive divine authority, as shown by the God-Witnessed Covenant. 208
Soul Thread Techniques
Celine's core combat style centers on Soul-Binding Thread, Mana-Conducting Thread, and thread-formed weapons.
- Uses Soul-Binding Thread for attacks, restraint, mobility, environmental manipulation, and battlefield setup. 15 167
- Uses Mana-Conducting Thread to manipulate weapons and objects, pursue targets, track Norani, and redirect attacks. 136 141 168
- Forms the Truth Scythe and Bow of Truth from Soul Threads. 166 201
- Uses Strangulation to snap threads taut and tear apart the shattered souls of Corrupted Withered Corpses. 178
- Requires preparation and positioning; direct confrontations with physically superior opponents remain dangerous. 167 171
Mobility and Time Manipulation
Celine survives stronger enemies through evasion, repositioning, and selective use of expensive skills.
- Shadowstep enables short-range displacement and was central to her fights against Talu and Samila. 167 168 199
- Repeated Shadowstep use rapidly consumes mana and strains her legs. 168 199
- Dusk Hourglass: Twilight Scar slows incoming objects within a five-meter radius for a brief period, allowing her to evade dense projectile attacks and recover with potions. 168
Holy and Ranged Techniques
Celine supplements her Soul Thread combat with holy power and precision attacks.
- Purifying Light can be integrated into Soul-Binding Thread to suppress corruption. 15 200
- Weakness Mark identifies vulnerable points, including Samila’s contaminated wing roots. 15 201
- Afterglow Spike can damage Evil Affinity defenses, destroy the runes on Chloe’s control collar, and strike exposed weaknesses. 168 172
- Shattered Blade Scatter fires mana blades; Celine uses it for precision attacks rather than brute-force armor penetration. 168
Corrupted Root Stub
Celine carries a Corrupted Root Stub whose origin and long-term effects remain unresolved.
- Its aura can be sensed by Norani and resonates with similar fragments. 137 199
- Celine used it to absorb corruption from an infected captive, but concealed this ability from Chloe. 176
- After Isolde fused a second fragment into their shared body, the Root Stub became stronger and more complete, though Corona Halo temporarily suppresses its instability. 205
- Its corruption can interact with Samila’s, intensifying both sides’ instability. 200
Equipment & Assets
- Mistglass Earrings — Appraise the basic attributes and condition of non-combat targets after observation; enhanced by Witch's Mask to warn Celine when she is being investigated. 118

- Corona Halo — Suppresses the Root Stub's instability and can summon Moon. 138 205
- Derek's Finger — Relic capable of pointing toward a clearly envisioned person, object, or location; can also establish teleportation anchors for later returns. 176
- Secretsight Button — Revealed a hidden clause in Castro's warehouse trusteeship contract. 146

Relationships
- Isolde — The other soul within Celine's body. Isolde has taken control during crises, fused the second Root Stub fragment, and refuses to explain their shared history. 205 212
- Lia — Trusted steward of Crowcandle Castle. Celine left the castle and inn under Lia’s authority while traveling to Red Kite. 132
- Moon — Magical black horse and combat partner. Moon rescued Celine during her fall from Golden Balance’s tower by revealing hidden wings and later fought Samila alongside her. 200 201
- Norani — Elven investigator and uneasy ally. Norani initially manipulated Celine into confronting Verdant Shade, but later supplied intelligence on corruption and the underground operations. 137 151
- Chloe — Beastfolk ally, caravan guard, and debtor of favors. Celine freed her from Red Well’s control collar; Chloe later assists with combat, transport, recruit assessment, and the Northern Route trial. 172 187 196
- Leora Rosalind — Head of House Rosalind. Celine returned Ilena's necklace to her and became her family’s Northern Route cooperative agent; their relationship gradually becomes familial. 145 158 196
- Alvin — Rosalind representative who supports Celine’s warehouse investigation, recruitment plans, and reconstruction of the Northern Route caravan. 157 158
- Samila — Red Kite’s Wishborn Spirit lord. They fought over their shared Root Stub corruption before forming a God-Witnessed Covenant to protect Red Kite from future loss of control. 199 207
- Matilda — Witch and Secret Alley contact. Matilda identified the two souls within Celine and guided her into the inner realm where she met Isolde. 212

- Chloe repeatedly objects to Celine calling her a rabbit, insisting that she is Beastfolk. 174
- Celine’s public identity was sufficiently convincing that Red Well spectators debated whether she was an assassin, a Holy mage, a Common Affinity user, or a player. 169
