"L-last... last night... was I... a little... too bold?"
The morning sunlight had yet to fully reach into the room.
Roxy had buried almost her entire head in the soft pillow, her voice muffled.
It was as though someone might overhear and laugh at her the moment she said it.
Her face burned crimson, and even the tips of her ears had turned an adorable pink.
Cui Ciyou froze for a moment, then couldn't help chuckling softly.
-She'd already won, so why did she look like a losing heroine?
You're not the heroine who loses out.
Cui Ciyou reached out and gathered both the blanket and Roxy's petite body into his arms, gently drawing her against his chest.
He felt her slightly trembling shoulders beneath his palm, while her quick, restrained heartbeat reached his ears.
"No, not at all..."
Cui Ciyou leaned close to Roxy's ear, his voice low and tender.
"Most people would like a girl who's that bold."
Roxy murmured softly, "What about you, Ciyou?... Do you like it?"
At those words, Cui Ciyou paused briefly.
Then he answered with a quiet laugh, "I don't like girls like that, but... I like Roxy like this."
"W-what is that supposed to mean..."
"You... really are far too good at this..."
Roxy buried her face even deeper, her voice barely audible, though her heart felt as sweet as if it had been drenched in honey.
An odd thought first occurred to Roxy: had he learned this from Mr. Paul? It felt so much like Mr. Paul's style.
If they ran into Paul in the future, she would have to keep Ciyou away from him.
After that, Roxy actually wanted to ask-what about Alice? What about Sylphy?
But with the words on the tip of her tongue, she held them back.
