Besides Roxy, Cui Ciyou had two other frequent visitors to his room.
Ghislaine and Alice.
If Roxy's daily visits were a warm, peaceful lullaby, like the afternoon sunlight,
then the other two visitors to Cui Ciyou's "sickroom" brought a symphony of hilarity to his dull days of recovery, leaving him unsure whether to laugh or cry.
Ghislaine, the Beastfolk Sword King, came by several times every day without fail.
Her way of showing concern was always direct and hardcore, full of the Beastfolk's disregard for formalities and reverence for strength.
Every time she visited, Ghislaine carefully checked how Cui Ciyou's wounds were healing.
And her method of doing so was to get hands-on.
With brisk, decisive movements, she would undo the bandages that Roxy or Alice had only just painstakingly wrapped.
Then she would lean in close and carefully examine the color of the wounds and how well they had healed.
Ghislaine would even... poke and press around the wounds with her callused fingers to make sure his bones were all right.
Whenever this happened, Roxy and Alice, standing nearby, would react to this outrageously "rough" act of "injuring him all over again."
They would glare at her and protest vehemently, though to little effect.
"Ghislaine, be gentler... Ciyou's still hurt!"-That was Alice's roar.
"Um... Miss Ghislaine, wounds... you can't just press on wounds like that."-That was Roxy's timid remonstration.
This was precisely why Cui Ciyou's bandages had to be redone several times a day-Ghislaine forcibly removed them several times a day in the name of checking his injuries.
Occasionally, Ghislaine would also bring him "precious supplements" that she personally believed would greatly help his recovery.
For example, the fresh heart of some unknown high-level magic beast, half the size of Cui Ciyou's head, reeking of blood and still twitching
