Teach Kid a Lesson

"Oh, it's just me. This is a deserted island, so I suppose I count as its owner, right?" Ian looked up at Kid, his tone still calm. "Then can you tell me what year it is in the Sea Circle Calendar?"

"Kid, you still don't seem to understand the situation!" Kid ignored Ian's question and revealed a cruel smile. "From the moment I set foot on this island, it became mine!"

Kid laughed wildly and looked at Ian mockingly, wanting to see how he would react.

All his underlings looked at Ian with mocking smiles, as though they were watching a lamb awaiting slaughter.

Watching these people eye him like tigers, Ian shook his head. "You're the ones who don't understand the situation. And besides..."

"I'm asking you a question!" Ian's gaze sharpened, and an immense aura suddenly surged from his body!

That aura was as deep as an abyss and as imposing as a prison, pressing down on everyone like a massive mountain!

Everyone felt a terrifying pressure bear down on them.

In an instant, nearly eighty percent of them were knocked unconscious by that terrifying aura.

"Oh? You've got some skill, at least!" Ian looked at Kid and Killer, his aura still pouring forth and crushing the two before him.

But as he watched this scene, he secretly guessed, Is this Conqueror's Haki?

This scene did seem rather similar to Conqueror's Haki...

Under the pressure of Ian's aura, Kid and Killer felt the same crushing force, but they could still endure it!

"What kind of power is this? A Devil Fruit ability?" Kid frowned. What exactly was this power? Why had it knocked so many people unconscious in an instant?

Kid's expression became slightly grave. The man before him was certainly no ordinary person. He looked at Ian and spoke in a low voice. "Who exactly are you?"

"Just an ordinary person." Ian spread his hands.

"Whoever you are, and whatever type of Devil Fruit you ate, I won't let you off for attacking my men!" Kid said viciously. Magnetism surged as he dragged swords, spears, blades, and other metal objects from the ground, forming a gigantic mechanical hand!

Killer stood beside Kid without saying a word. He held his sickle-like weapon in hand, his eyes fixed firmly on Ian, his sharp gaze seeming to pierce straight through him.

Ian merely smiled without speaking. He also wanted to test his current strength. Since obtaining his abilities, he had yet to fight anyone!

"Are you sure you want to attack me?" Ian's tone was mocking. His Observation Haki had not sensed much threat from Kid and the others; they should not be his opponents!

The enormous mechanical hand moved freely at Kid's command as he said, "Since you haven't moved, that must be the drawback of your Devil Fruit! Kid! This world is vast! Don't think eating some special Devil Fruit means you can rule the seas!"

"Die!"

A cruel look appeared in Kid's eyes as the gigantic metal arm slammed down. The immense force compressed the air until it burst outward, smashing toward Yun Ye!

"That's what I should be telling you. Don't think you're anything special just because you ate a Devil Fruit. A weakling who doesn't even know how to use Haki dares to act so arrogantly? You really don't know your place!" Ian coated his fist in Armament Haki and threw a punch to meet it.

Though Ian himself had not known how to use Haki before, who could stop him from showing off now?

Boom!

Ian's Armament Haki-coated fist blasted Kid's mechanical arm into pieces. The force exploded, sending fragments shooting in every direction!

"This world is vast. Don't underestimate anyone!" Ian used Flash Step and closed in before Kid, throwing a punch that struck Kid hard in the abdomen.

Kid took the heavy blow as though he had been struck by a giant hammer. Blood spewed from his mouth as his body flew backward like a ragged sack.

Countless pieces of metal scattered and fell away as he was sent flying.

Killer was shocked. In a flash, he caught the flying Kid in his arms. Although he caught him, the force still made his chest tighten. His legs dragged long trails across the ground, and he could not help coughing up a mouthful of blood with a "Wah!"

"T-This is impossible!!" Killer was horrified. What kind of power was that?

Kid spat out another mouthful of blood and dropped to one knee. He looked at Ian with fear in his eyes. Who exactly was this guy? Why was he so powerful?

His own strength was simply no match for the man before him!

Kid took a deep breath and rose with Killer's support, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. His voice was heavy, and fear lingered in his eyes. "Who exactly are you? A powerhouse from the New World? And what kind of power is Haki?!"

Was I too strong, or was he too weak? Ian clenched his fist and muttered to himself. Although his Observation Haki had not detected any threat from Kid and the others, defeating them in just one or two moves still exceeded Ian's expectations.

He waved his hand in boredom. "Since this world has Logia-type Devil Fruit users, there are naturally abilities capable of countering them. Haki is one of them!"

"Enough nonsense. I'll give you two choices. First, die here while I take your ship and leave. Second, I requisition your ship, and you take me off this island!" Ian raised a finger and spoke calmly.

Did they dare refuse?

They did not!

With no room to choose, Kid could only take Ian away from the island!

At sea, Kid's ship drifted toward the distance.

Aboard the ship, Ian also learned the rough timeframe of the present era.

Sea Circle Calendar 1519. It should not be long before the main cast set sail...

And this was another route on the Grand Line, one that had never appeared in the original story.

Ian yawned and closed his eyes to rest. With Observation Haki, he had no fear of Kid and the others launching a sneak attack...

Before long, Kid's ship reached an inhabited island. After dropping Ian off, they fled in disgrace.

As for why he had let Kid go, he was just a useful pawn. Giving him a lesson was enough.

Since he could not pose any threat anyway, wasn't it better to let him become Luffy's "classmate" in the future?

After getting off the ship, Ian put the matter out of his mind and walked straight into town.

Once in town, Ian headed into a restaurant, ordered several dishes, and began eating!

After taking his first bite, he realized that he had no Beli on him. It was rather awkward...

He could not exactly dine and dash, could he?

Just as Ian was struggling with this, a group of people burst in from outside.

Their clothes were ragged, making them look like refugees, but they came in aggressively. All of them carried weapons and wore fierce expressions.

"Who's the owner here!!"

"Hurry up and bring us food! We're starving!"

The group sat down at a large table, casually tossing their weapons about as they began shouting and clamoring. They did not care that this was a public place, frequently bursting into loud laughter!

The customers in the restaurant were all frightened away. Some even ran out in disgrace without paying.

Only Ian and that group remained in the restaurant.

At that moment, the owner came out from the back, wiping cold sweat from his forehead. The moment he saw the group, his face fell, as though they were unwelcome guests...

He was only an ordinary civilian and did not dare drive them away. He could only agree meekly and go to the back to prepare the food...
