The Giants were furious. Even after killing the insolent Macnair, they remained restless and agitated.
Especially the new Gurg. He had only just finished a challenge that decided both victory and death, when someone came running over to sneer at him. He had nearly gone to find Voldemort himself to settle the score.
Since he was setting a trap for Voldemort, Eli showed no restraint whatsoever.
He ordered Macnair to first express distrust toward the new Gurg, then mock the Giants as an inferior race in Voldemort's voice. Finally, he said that as long as the Giants obediently followed orders, Voldemort would mercifully allow them to become his servants after the war was won.
The outcome was obvious. Although Eli could not understand the Giant language, he could guess the result simply from the Giants' reactions.
This trip had not only made the Giants withdraw their support for Voldemort, but had also filled them with immense hatred for Voldemort and the Death Eaters. It had been an absolute windfall.
Eli immediately set off for Hogwarts.
The return trip was much simpler than the journey there. He merely spent a little more magic and used the Phoenix to travel straight back to Hogwarts.
He walked through the castle. It was the weekend, and there were not many students in the corridors, though he still spotted several familiar faces.
Dean saw Eli from afar. He glanced around, then quickened his pace slightly and walked up to Eli. "When are we starting training? I can't wait any longer."
Eli patted him on the shoulder and smiled. "I'll go speak to Harry and the others now. We've only just gotten through Christmas, after all. The students should take some time to savor the holiday."
Dean smiled and waved his hand, then brushed past Eli.
