Eli's Frustration

After the O.W.L. exams, some were naturally delighted while others were disappointed. One person, meanwhile, was utterly furious and jealous.

Holding his report card and staring at the string of "O"s that looked like sheep droppings, Eli desperately wanted to beat up a certain bushy-haired girl who was grinning from ear to ear.

"Didn't you say you got one question wrong?!" Eli demanded loudly, shaking his report card until it rustled.

Hermione could not hide the smile on her face at all. Seeing Eli so exasperated only made her happier.

"Yes, I only got one wrong." She held her chin high, the corners of her lips curling up.

Eli gritted his teeth. So when she said she had gotten one wrong, she had meant she had gotten only one wrong!

Hermione had taken ten subjects for her O.W.L.s, and she had earned an "O" in every single one! The highest grade in all of them.

Based on Hermione's usual study habits, practical subjects like Defense Against the Dark Arts had been somewhat difficult for her. But with Eli's tutoring, she had ultimately earned an excellent "O" there too.

"Haven't you gotten used to it by now?" Harry cut in. Ever since the results came out, his smile had not faded once.

Ron was the same. The two of them had passed seven subjects.

Of all the subjects, only nine were compulsory for the O.W.L.s. With Harry and Ron's personalities, taking even one extra subject would have felt like a huge loss.

Passing seven out of the nine subjects they had taken was already a pretty good result.

Ron could not have been happier. His goals had never been high, and now he had earned more O.W.L. passes than Fred and George combined.
