A Sudden Realization

After leaving, Eli kept pondering Dumbledore's words.

Slytherin had mentioned the Death God, and Dumbledore had mentioned the Death God as well. That basically confirmed that the Death God truly existed in this world.

Eli's mood grew somewhat heavy. So it was not just Voldemort waiting for him ahead, but also a Death God constantly waiting to lure him to his death.

The Death God could influence a person's mind and entice them into an accidental death. As long as someone had an obsession, they could be influenced.

Voldemort feared death. He had split his soul, allowing the Death God to exploit the opening. He had already become meat on the Death God's chopping block.

Eli suddenly thought of Dumbledore's rather tragic past.

His younger sister had been cruelly abused by Muggles, turning her into an Obscurial who could erupt at any moment.

His mother had died because of his sister.

He had met someone closer than a brother, and the two had shared equally lofty ambitions.

Yet because of an argument, he lost his sister, his brother came to hate him, and that person left him as well.

He had spent the rest of his life under the shadow of his sister's death. That was why, while searching for Voldemort's Horcruxes, he had been drawn to the Resurrection Stone and suffered a fatal curse!

Eli was startled. In the original story, Dumbledore had only one year left to live after suffering that fatal curse, and in the end, he died to Snape's Killing Curse.

That meant that, in the original plot, even Dumbledore had fallen into the Death God's death trap!
