Happy Little Hours of Summer Vacation

Once the exams were over, regardless of the results, it was time to throw oneself into the joy of the holidays.

Eli and the others happily boarded the little train home. Of course, Harry was the only one who was less than happy.

Just thinking about going back to that awful place and seeing those three awful people made Harry genuinely want to apply to stay at school.

But Eli told him Professor Dumbledore would never agree to it.

Eli's reason was that Hogwarts did not allow students to remain at school over the holidays.

Yet in reality, there was always a group of diligent little eagles who stayed at school during the break.

Naturally, Eli did not tell Harry the real reason.

Harry carried the Blood Protection Charm his mother had left behind. Every year, he had to spend enough time with his blood relatives for the charm to take effect.

Of course, Eli had it too. So in fact, the time Eli and Harry had already spent together at Hogwarts was enough to keep the charm active. Harry would have been fine even without returning to the Dursley family.

But if he told Harry that, wouldn't that be the same as directly telling him that Eli was the unlucky little brother Harry had lost all those years ago?

Eli felt that they had already built a friendship. If brotherly affection suddenly got piled on top of that, he might not be able to handle it.

So, Harry, just put up with staying with the Dursley family a little longer. Hehe...
