Background / History

Tang San is a reincarnator who retains the skills and knowledge of his previous life as a Tang Sect genius. At the time he encounters Ye Xunhuan in the Star Dou Forest, he has recently awakened Blue Silver Grass and is still an unringed Rank 10 Spirit Master. 7 8

He accompanies his teacher, Yu Xiaogang, during a hunt for a suitable first Spirit Ring. When a roughly four-hundred-year Mandala Snake poisons and incapacitates Yu, Tang San fights alone. His Blue Silver Grass cannot restrain the beast, and his hidden weapons cannot penetrate its scales, forcing him to reveal his second martial soul, the Clear Sky Hammer. 8

Before Tang San can kill the snake, Ye Xunhuan intervenes and kills it, deliberately denying Tang San its Spirit Ring. Ye then destroys the ring itself. Tang San immediately suspects Ye and Ling Yuan of having witnessed his secret rather than expressing gratitude for the rescue. 8 9

Tang San expends much of his soul power using the Mysterious Heaven Skill and antidotes to purge Yu Xiaogang's venom. He later defends Yu during Ye's public dismantling of the latter's theories, ending their encounter with a warning that he will remember it. 9 11

Tang San initially appears to be a thin six-year-old boy with blue hair and blue eyes. His Blue Silver Grass martial soul manifests as an ordinary clump of grass coiled around his hand. 7

Tang San is intensely guarded and secretive. After Ye Xunhuan saves him from the Mandala Snake, his first concern is how long Ye had been watching and whether his twin martial souls have been exposed. Ling Yuan's previously undetected presence further deepens his suspicion. 8 9

He is loyal to Yu Xiaogang despite privately recognizing the danger caused by his teacher's poor performance. Tang San exhausts himself purging Yu's venom, supports him after Ye's verbal attack, and openly confronts Ye for humiliating him. 8 9 11

In battle, Tang San remains composed until conventional methods fail. He uses Blue Silver Grass, hidden weapons, and Tang Sect techniques before resorting to the Clear Sky Hammer as a final measure. 8

Tang San's first appearance places him in the altered version of his original first Spirit Ring hunt. His struggle against the Mandala Snake forces him to expose the Clear Sky Hammer, after which Ye Xunhuan kills the beast and destroys the Spirit Ring Tang San would have absorbed. 7 8 9

Conflict with Ye Xunhuan
