Xu first meets Ye when she finds him unconscious in a wooden tub after his bloodline fusion. Once both realize that they have been assigned the same dormitory, their initial panic gradually gives way to formal introductions and a tentative roommate relationship 20 21.

Academy Isolation and Zhao Lie’s Duel

Ye learns that Xu’s lack of a team is not due to a lack of demand, but Zhao Lie’s deliberate intimidation of potential recruiters. When Zhao tries to make her membership in the Blazing Team the stake of a duel, Ye rejects the premise that she can be wagered. Xu then asserts her own agency by agreeing to the stake herself and placing her trust in Ye 24 26.

After Ye defeats Zhao, Xu runs into the arena to support him. She later remains close to Ye in public, joking that she is acting as his “shield” against the attention he receives 27 28.
