Background

Tang San awakened the Clear Sky Hammer at age six. After this awakening, Tang Hao left Holy Soul Village with him while abandoning Tang Shuo, Tang San’s older brother, behind with only a few coins. Tang Hao continued to regard Tang San as the son with boundless potential while dismissing Tang Shuo as a failure. 1 32

After studying at Notting Junior Soul Master Academy for over a year, Tang San returned to Holy Soul Village with Xiao Wu. He described Tang Shuo as an ordinary person with a damaged mirror martial soul and no soul power, then treated his brother with pity and condescension. Tang San gave him several gold soul coins, declared that they belonged to different worlds, and said he would not return. 2

At Shrek Academy, Tang San became a central member of the Seven Monsters. He trained under Yu Xiaogang, supported his teammates through strenuous physical exercises, and later advanced to Soul Venerable after acquiring his third soul ring and the Eight Spider Lances. 25 31

Tang San initially remained unaware of Tang Shuo’s true identity and extraordinary advancement, repeatedly believing that his own cultivation had left his older brother behind. By the time of the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, however, he recognized Tang Shuo and his hostility toward him had become an open personal feud. 25 32 95

After repeated defeats by Tang Shuo, Tang San trained under Tang Hao to complete Divine Slaughter’s Domain. He later entered Slaughter City alone to further temper himself through genuine killing, eventually surviving its trials and advancing toward the Road to Hell. 104 126 128

Tang San subsequently completed the Sea God’s final trial and inherited the Sea God’s godhood. Upon returning to the Clear Sky Sect, he compelled the sect to recognize him as its supreme authority and ordered it to reenter the world during the war against the Spirit Hall Empire. 137 140 141

Appearance

Tang San is a black-haired youth with an ordinary but composed appearance. During his return to Holy Soul Village, he wore the uniform of Notting Junior Soul Master Academy and carried the Twenty-Four Bridges Under the Moonlit Night at his waist. 1 11

Following his inheritance of the Sea God’s godhood, Tang San appeared with black hair, blue eyes, a golden trident mark on his brow, blue divine armor, and the Sea God’s Trident. 140

  • Black hair. 11 140
  • Usually calm and restrained in bearing. 11
  • Uses the Twenty-Four Bridges Under the Moonlit Night storage soul tool. 1
  • Wore Sea God divine armor after inheriting godhood. 140

Personality

Tang San is disciplined, analytical, and highly competitive. He endures intense training, carries additional weight for Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong, and carefully evaluates the combat methods behind Shuofeng’s arena victories rather than dismissing them outright. 25 48

He is also loyal to his Shrek companions. When Ma Hongjun was critically poisoned, Tang San immediately took charge of treatment, using acupuncture and poison knowledge for hours while Dai Mubai protected Ma Hongjun’s heart meridian. 42

However, Tang San is dismissive toward Tang Shuo. He considers his elder brother powerless and unsuitable for cultivation, and later mistakenly believes that the gap between them will only continue to widen in his own favor. 2 25 32

Tang San is fiercely protective of Shrek Academy’s members and treats attacks on them as personal provocations. Dai Mubai’s severe injuries at Shuofeng’s hands prompted him to seek revenge, while later defeats hardened his resentment toward Tang Shuo into a vow of vengeance. 53 104

Although usually strategic, Tang San can become desperate and reckless when his pride, companions, or martial abilities are threatened. He repeatedly continued fighting Tang Shuo despite overwhelming injuries, resorting to the Clear Sky Hammer, Eight Spider Lances, Tang Sect hidden weapons, and Divine Slaughter’s Domain. 61 108 109 129

As the Sea God, Tang San demonstrates increased authority and confidence. He confronts the Clear Sky Sect’s elders directly, orders the sect to reenter the world, and commands its forces in the war against Spirit Hall. 140 141 142

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang San awakened the Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand at age six. Its appearance caused Tang Hao to place his hopes in Tang San rather than Tang Shuo. 1

  • Uses the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer technique to build momentum through repeated hammer strikes. 61 96
  • Tang Shuo shattered the Clear Sky Hammer during their conflict on the Road to Hell, causing severe martial-soul backlash. Tang San was nevertheless later stated to have used both martial souls to complete the Sea God’s final trial. 129 137

Mysterious Heaven Technique and Tang Sect Arts

Tang San practices the Mysterious Heaven Technique and Tang Sect techniques, applying them to conditioning, combat analysis, and hidden weapons. 25 39 48

  • Uses the Mysterious Heaven Technique to regulate his breathing and assess his progress after physical training. 25
  • Believes Tang Sect movement techniques, Control Crane, Capture Dragon, and hidden weapons could potentially match Shuofeng’s style under the right conditions. 48
  • Maintains and uses the Zhuge Divine Crossbow. 48
  • Uses Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track for rapid, deceptive movement. 60 74
  • Uses the poison-resistant Mysterious Jade Hands in close combat; the technique was broken by Tang Shuo’s attacks on multiple occasions. 61 108
  • Used the wide-area hidden weapon Batwing Reincarnation in a final attack against Tang Shuo, but its projectiles were reversed and struck Tang San himself. 109

Purple Demon Eyes and Poison Treatment

Tang San uses the Purple Demon Eyes to inspect poison within a target’s body and combines this perception with silver-needle acupuncture. 42

  • Identified Ma Hongjun’s condition as a compound poison of more than a dozen mutually reinforcing toxins. 42
  • Sealed Ma Hongjun’s soul power and administered simultaneous treatment through precisely placed silver needles. 42
  • Successfully stabilized Ma Hongjun, though permanent damage remained. 42
  • Treated Dai Mubai’s more than twenty mutually complementary toxins with Ning Rongrong’s support, exhausting much of his Soul Power and mental energy. 53
  • Attempted to use the Purple Demon Eyes as a spiritual attack against Tang Shuo during the tournament, but Tang Shuo’s Divine Silence destroyed the attack and severely damaged Tang San’s eyes. 97

Eight Spider Lances

Tang San obtained the Eight Spider Lances after absorbing the soul ring of a thousand-year Man-Faced Demon Spider. 31

  • External soul bone manifested as eight deep-purple spider legs from his back. 31
  • Greatly increased his combat strength. 31 32
  • Used the lances to form a defensive shield against Tang Shuo’s physical punch, though they were left covered in cracks. 96
  • Launched the lances at Tang Shuo during the tournament finals; one was crushed by Tang Shuo’s bare hand, with the remaining lances also cracking through their mental connection. 108

Divine Slaughter’s Domain

Tang San completed the awakening of Divine Slaughter’s Domain under Tang Hao’s guidance after his earlier defeats by Tang Shuo. 104

  • Enhances Tang San’s killing intent and combat aura. 104 107
  • Was overwhelmed by Tang Shuo’s higher-level aura during the tournament finals. 108
  • Was instantly suppressed by the Eastern Sovereign Domain on the Road to Hell. 129
  • His experience in Slaughter City was intended to complete and strengthen the domain through real killing and survival. 126 128

Sea God Power

Tang San inherited the Sea God’s godhood after completing the Sea God’s final trial. 137

  • Pulled the Sea God’s Trident from the sacred mountain by using both martial souls, domains, and his full strength. 137
  • Wore divine armor and wielded the Sea God’s Trident upon returning to the Clear Sky Sect. 140
  • Used the Trident’s divine pressure to stop the Second Elder’s Clear Sky Hammer and force him to kneel. 140
  • His divine aura forced the Clear Sky Sect’s elders and disciples to submit. 141
  • Tang Shuo later destroyed the Sea God’s Trident with a beam from the Eastern Sovereign’s Golden Crow manifestation. 142
