Yu Tianheng is a direct-line heir of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect and a candidate for its future young clan master. He possesses the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon, described as the continent’s number one Beast Martial Soul 23 24.

Before Ning Chen’s arrival at Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Tianheng had long held the highest cultivation among his peers through disciplined training rather than the complacency associated with a privileged heir 23 24. His position, lineage, and age give him considerable prestige among the Emperor Team members 40.

His enrollment also reflects the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect’s closer cooperation with the Heaven Dou imperial family. Alongside the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, his clan strengthens its imperial ties to restore its influence and resist Martial Soul Hall after the Clear Sky Sect’s withdrawal 36.

Personality

Ning Chen’s exceptional cultivation awakens Tianheng’s competitive drive. He trains day and night to keep up, eventually pushing himself close to the Soul Ancestor realm 24 36. In battle, he attacks seriously and without reserve, but accepts defeat honorably and sincerely acknowledges others’ skill 24 38.

As captain, he takes responsibility for both discipline and morale. He checks Yu Feng’s impatience when Qin Ming is issuing instructions and later rallies the team before its confrontation with Martial Soul Hall’s Golden Generation. His stated principle is that a Soul Master may lose, but must never be afraid 40 70.

His courage can become fierce determination under pressure. Against Yan, he disregards his own injuries and Soul Power consumption to continue trading blows with the help of Ye Lingling’s healing, although the stronger opponent ultimately exhausts and eliminates him 72.

Heaven Dou Tier student

Tianheng is introduced as one of the academy’s strongest younger Heaven Dou Tier students, with level 23 Soul Power at age fourteen. He immediately welcomes the newly enrolled Cao Benqi and offers mutual assistance 23.

Rivalry with Cao Benqi

Cao Benqi’s arrival challenges Tianheng’s long-held position as the group’s strongest cultivator. Tianheng silently responds by training more intensely, while Dugu Yan becomes concerned by the extent of his effort 24.

Qin Ming later arranges a spar between Tianheng, Dugu Yan, and Cao Benqi. Tianheng and Dugu Yan combine lightning offense with poison support, but Cao Benqi disrupts their formation and forces Dugu Yan’s concession. Tianheng responds by praising Cao Benqi’s footwork rather than making excuses 24.

Emperor Team training

As the Emperor Team develops, Tianheng becomes its captain and one of its strongest regular combatants. During the six-against-one exercise against Cao Benqi, he leads the team’s direct offense with Thunderclap Dragon Claw and Thunderous Fury, but Cao Benqi repeatedly uses Tianheng’s proximity to Dugu Yan’s poison against their formation 37.

Cao Benqi ultimately suppresses Tianheng and the rest of the team with Thousand Peaks Shaking Mountains. Tianheng admits that his earlier dismissal of self-created Soul Skills had been narrow-minded and calls Cao Benqi a “monster” 38.

Great Soul Arena training

Qin Ming pairs Tianheng with Dugu Yan for two-person Soul Battles and assigns him a central leadership role in the Emperor Team’s year-long practical training program 39 41. The pair are the first team members besides Ning Chen to earn Silver Soul status through their seamless coordination 46.

When the team relocates to Soto City for harsher competition, Tianheng continues leading team battles without Ning Chen. The Emperor Team’s performance improves but remains less stable against veteran formations without its strongest member 46.

The team eventually defeats the brutal Mad Battle Team without Ning Chen’s participation, earning its Silver Soul Badge in team battles. By this point, Tianheng and Dugu Yan have both reached level 40 but still require fourth Soul Rings 47.

First battle against the Shrek Seven Devils

Before the Soto match, Tianheng is surprised that Shrek has earned Silver Soul status so quickly despite its comparatively low cultivation. Cao Benqi’s warning about Tang San’s combat ability and leadership convinces him to take the opposition seriously 48.

Tianheng opens the battle with a direct attack on Dai Mubai, but their clash ends evenly despite his three-rank Soul Power advantage. He then attempts to eliminate Tang San, recognizing him as Shrek’s tactical core. Tang San evades his Thunderclap Dragon Claw with elusive footwork and restrains him with Blue Silver Grass, leaving him isolated within Shrek’s formation 49.

Shrek follows with a coordinated assault involving Ma Hongjun’s flames, Xiao Wu’s Charm, Dai Mubai’s transformed attacks, and Zhu Zhuqing’s claws. Tianheng activates all three Soul Skills and Dragon Transformation, but successive attacks prevent him from recovering his balance. Xiao Wu’s Waist Bow and Dai Mubai’s simultaneous strike leave him seriously injured, prompting Dugu Yan’s furious poison counterattack 50.

Ye Lingling completely heals him, allowing him to reassure Dugu Yan and resume fighting Dai Mubai. After Xiao Wu is injured by the Shi brothers, Tianheng joins the Emperor Team’s renewed advance. Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing then activate Hell White Tiger, decisively knocking Tianheng and Yu Feng off the arena 51 52.

Cao Benqi ultimately wins the match for the Emperor Team. Tianheng leaves with injuries still unrecovered and Dugu Yan supporting him. During the subsequent discussion, he recognizes Qin Ming’s connection to Shrek Academy and admits that the team probably would have lost without Benqi 53 54.

Fourth Soul Ring and return to the academy

Two days after the Shrek match, Tianheng and his teammates have recovered from their injuries. Since both he and Dugu Yan have reached level 40, Qin Ming arranges for academy personnel to assist them in obtaining their fourth Soul Rings 54.

With the assistance of two Soul Sages, they complete their hunt in Star Dou Forest and return to Heaven Dou Royal Academy as Soul Ancestors. Although Tianheng initially wishes to relax after the breakthrough, Ning Chen’s renewed dedication and his own responsibilities as captain push him back into intensive cultivation 60.

Tianheng accompanies Dugu Yan to observe Shrek Academy’s attempt to join Heaven Dou Royal Academy. Dugu Bo’s intervention causes the negotiations to fail, and Qin Ming leaves with Shrek. The Emperor Team remains confident about facing Shrek in competition, but the loss of its longtime instructor deeply affects the members 61.

Continental Elite Soul Master Tournament

By the tournament’s opening, Tianheng has reached level 44. The Heaven Dou Imperial Academy Team receives direct entry into the finals as the imperial representative, leaving Tianheng and his teammates impatient for an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities publicly 65.

In Spirit City, the team wins its second-round match without Cao Benqi, fielding six Soul Ancestors and Ye Lingling. Its third-round draw against Martial Soul Hall’s Golden Generation initially unsettles the members, but Tianheng joins Ning Chen in restoring their morale. He reminds them of their experience in Soto and declares that a Soul Master can lose, but cannot be afraid 69 70.

During the match, Tianheng intercepts Yan, preventing him from freely burning away Dugu Yan’s poisonous mist. Dragon Transformation and Ye Lingling’s healing allow Tianheng to hold out temporarily, but Yan’s superior cultivation steadily places him in danger. After Demon Charm’s red mist spreads across the arena, Tianheng desperately exchanges blows until he exhausts himself and is eliminated 70 71 72.

Ning Chen subsequently defeats the opposing team and secures Heaven Dou’s victory. Tianheng celebrates enthusiastically, embracing Ning Chen and praising him for overcoming Martial Soul Hall’s entire lineup 75.

After Ning Chen defeats Shrek and Godwind’s combined fourteen-person assault, Tianheng is left stunned. His admiration now includes a clear sense of awe at the enormous difference between their abilities 83 84.

Championship final and departure

In the final against Shrek, Tianheng is horrified when the opposing team channels its combined Soul Power into Tang San, enabling him to wield a Clear Sky Avatar with Soul Sage-level striking power. Ning Chen steps forward to withstand the blow and then feigns unconsciousness to conceal his true strength 85 86.

Unaware of the deception, Tianheng rushes forward to catch him. Ye Lingling points out that Shrek’s members have exhausted themselves, prompting Tianheng to entrust Ning Chen to her and order an immediate combined attack. The Emperor Team overwhelms the helpless opposition and is declared tournament champion 86.

The team receives a grand welcome upon returning to Heaven Dou City, having secured the first championship for both the academy and the empire. During the following two months, Tianheng, Dugu Yan, and the other members leave Heaven Dou Royal Academy, dispersing to their sects, families, or imperial appointments 89.
