Ye Lingling was introduced as the youngest member of Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s Heaven Dou Tier students. She possessed the rare Nine-Heart Begonia, a top-tier healing Martial Soul, and had level 19 Soul Power at eleven years old despite the cultivation difficulties faced by support-type Soul Masters 23.

At the academy, she joined Yu Tianheng, Dugu Yan, the Shi brothers, Yu Feng, Oslo, and Cao Benqi in the Emperor Team’s tournament training. Her role was to remain behind the frontline and preserve the team’s endurance through healing rather than direct combat 37.

Qin Ming later paired her with Cao Benqi for Soul Ancestor-level two-person matches. Their partnership became the Star Sea Team, named after elements of their Martial Souls 39 41.

Ye Lingling is quiet, solitary, and uncomfortable in lively or crowded environments. When given free time in Heaven Dou City, she declines sightseeing and chooses to remain at the hotel instead 40.

Though outwardly aloof, she is proud and conscientious about her role as a healer. During the Star Sea Team’s gambling-arena streak, she repeatedly heals Cao Benqi despite his lack of injuries because she does not want to become a burden 45. She is also capable of anger when provoked, as shown when Feng Ying insults her in the Gambling District 44.

Her experiences alongside Cao Benqi gradually build her confidence and trust in him. She follows his instructions during dangerous matches and remains close to him when the Gambling District’s atmosphere makes her feel unsafe 43 44.

Her determination to contribute also makes her reluctant to depend excessively on him. She voluntarily reduces the number of their two-person matches, delaying her Silver Soul advancement rather than imposing further on her partner 46.

After returning from Suotuo City, she begins cultivating with an intensity that alarms Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan. She explains that she wants to overcome the weakness that she believes held Cao Benqi back, while Qin Ming interprets her behavior as evidence of romantic affection that is likely unrequited. Heaven Dou Royal Academy

Ye Lingling enters the Heaven Dou Tier as its youngest student and becomes part of the Emperor Team’s future tournament lineup. Her level 19 cultivation and Nine-Heart Begonia establish her as a talented but developing support Soul Master 23.

As the team trains, she reaches level 21 and becomes a Grand Soul Master. Her beauty and distant temperament draw attention from Yu Feng, Oslo, and the Shi brothers 35.

Emperor Team Training

During Qin Ming’s six-against-one practical exercise against Cao Benqi, Ye Lingling stays at the rear with her Martial Soul ready to heal the team. Cao Benqi deliberately avoids striking her when he uses Thousand Mountains Formula to suppress the others, after which she heals the injured team members 37 38.

Star Sea Team and the Great Soul Arenas

Qin Ming pairs Ye Lingling with Cao Benqi for two-person Soul Battles. Despite her worry that her lower cultivation will hinder him, she accepts the partnership; together, they register as the Star Sea Team 39 41.

In their first match, the Crimson Flame Team underestimates Ye Lingling as a level-35 support Soul Elder. When Qian Yan attempts to attack her, Cao Benqi remotely manifests a Stellar Shield to protect her and immediately defeats him 41 42.

The pair then enters the Gambling District, where Ye Lingling is unsettled by the hostile attention directed toward her. After the Wind Wolf Team insults and targets her, Cao Benqi protects her throughout the match and defeats both opponents 43 44 45.

Her insistence on healing him after each fight nearly exhausts her Soul Power despite his remaining uninjured. Recognizing her condition, he ends their two-person gambling matches for the day, and Qin Ming advises her to meditate and recover before the evening team battle 45.

Suotuo City Training

After the Emperor Team relocates to Suotuo City for more serious practical combat, Ye Lingling continues fighting exclusively beside Cao Benqi. The Star Sea Team remains undefeated for over half a year, allowing her to become the third Emperor Team member to receive a Silver Soul badge 46.

She earns the badge only half a month after Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan. Her advancement could have come earlier, but she voluntarily limits their two-person matches because she does not want to burden Cao Benqi 46.

Battle Against the Shrek Seven Devils

During the Emperor Team’s match against the Shrek Seven Devils, Ye Lingling uses the Nine-Heart Begonia’s Healing Light to rapidly restore Yu Tianheng after he is injured. Following the battle, she openly supports Cao Benqi’s stance toward their opponents despite her normally reserved nature 51 54.

While Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan leave to obtain their fourth Spirit Rings, she remains in Suotuo City with the other teammates and uses the quieter period to cultivate and consolidate her gains 54.

Return to Heaven Dou and Shrek’s Arrival

After returning to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Ye Lingling cultivates so intensely that her teammates become concerned. Qin Ming discovers that she blames her insufficient strength for holding Cao Benqi back in the arena. Recognizing the affection behind her explanation, he warns her to protect her health and watches her more closely to prevent overtraining 60.

Two months later, she visits Cao Benqi at his mountain cultivation site to report that Shrek Academy and its teachers have arrived, apparently intending to join Heaven Dou Royal Academy. She explains their small size, shares knowledge drawn from her clan’s records, and predicts that their clash with Prince Xue Beng will prompt Prince Xue Xing to interfere 60.

She subsequently discusses the Shrek Seven Devils’ unexpectedly young ages with Cao Benqi. Although she considers their talent stronger than that of the regular Emperor Team, she explicitly excludes him from that comparison. The proposed merger eventually collapses after Dugu Bo’s intervention, and Qin Ming leaves with Shrek 61.

Continental Elite Soul Master Tournament

When the tournament begins, Ye Lingling has reached level 39 but remains a Soul Elder. Her new instructor accepts this because Nine-Heart Begonia’s healing is already sufficient for the team, although she is personally disappointed at not reaching Soul Ancestor. Heaven Dou’s imperial affiliation gives the team direct entry into the finals in Spirit City 65.

In the second round, she fights alongside six Soul Ancestors while Cao Benqi remains out of the lineup. The team wins decisively and impresses the spectators, but its next draw places it against Martial Soul Hall Academy’s Golden Generation 69.

Before that match, Ye Lingling supports Cao Benqi’s determination to fight and helps restore the team’s confidence. Once combat begins, her healing sustains Yu Tianheng against Yan’s superior Soul Power and Flame Lord attacks 70 71.

Xie Yue and Hu Liena’s Demon Charm fusion technique then envelops the battlefield in red mist, disrupting Heaven Dou’s vision and coordination. Unable to see the situation clearly, she continues activating Nine-Heart Begonia at full strength to heal her teammates. The opposing team identifies her as its foremost target, and an attacker reaches her while her allies are unable to provide protection 72.

Her elimination is a decisive turning point: Yu Tianheng loses the healing that had allowed him to resist Yan, and the rest of the team is subsequently defeated, leaving Cao Benqi alone. He nevertheless overturns the match and defeats the Martial Soul Hall Academy Team. Ye Lingling shares in the celebration, receives an excited embrace from Dugu Yan, and shows greater warmth and respect toward him 72 75.

Later developments in Spirit City deepen her reaction from admiration to awe. Alongside her teammates, she looks at Cao Benqi as though he is an insurmountable peak rather than merely another member of the team 84.

Championship Rewards and Return

Heaven Dou ultimately wins the tournament championship. During the allocation of the prize Soul Bones, the Rapid Advance Wind Chasing Left Leg Bone is considered unsuitable for Ye Lingling’s healing-support role. Yu Feng purchases it under an arrangement to compensate the other eligible teammates with gold soul coins after their return 87.

Ye Lingling returns as a member of the first Heaven Dou Imperial Academy team to win the Continental Elite Soul Master Tournament. The academy and Heaven Dou City welcome the champions with a grand reception, recognizing a victory unprecedented for both the academy and the empire 89.
