As the distance closed, Xiao Teng saw what it looked like.
Its body towered like a mountain, its enormous form half-hidden beneath the seawater. On its back rested an island, lush with verdant trees and blooming flowers.
Wherever it passed, the seawater automatically parted to either side, yielding a broad and tranquil path.
"If I'm not mistaken, this should be Bixi, the sixth son of the dragon. It is said to love carrying heavy loads most of all. This must be it," Xiao Teng said.
Bixi's aura was also immensely powerful, having reached the Late Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm.
Neither Xiao Teng nor Er Wa was a match for it.
Yet Bixi seemed not to care about their presence. After brushing past them, it continued swimming toward the endless distance.
The exotic beast beneath Xiao Teng's feet had been frightened stiff by the dragon might emanating from Bixi's body, not daring to move in the slightest.
Although Bixi was merely a hybrid of tortoise and dragon, the dragon might it released carried an innate deterrence toward marine creatures. Wherever it went, all living beings bowed their heads in submission.
"Father, this Bixi looks so strong!" Er Wa said.
Xiao Teng said, "It can't be helped. This fellow has lived no fewer years than we have. If we count only from the time it took human form, it has existed in this world even longer than us. It is only natural that it is stronger."
"Forget it. Don't provoke it."
Originally, Xiao Teng had wanted to ask Bixi whether it had seen the Three Immortal Isles.
But from the looks of it, Bixi was not easy to approach.
They had killed a dragon, and some Dragon Clan aura had inevitably clung to them. If Bixi discovered it, the loss would outweigh the gain.
Of course, if they truly had to fight, they were not afraid of Bixi. Still, it was best to avoid trouble whenever possible.
After the exotic beast recovered its senses, they continued searching for the Three Immortal Isles.
They searched bitterly across the East Sea for a full ten thousand years. At last, Heaven helps those who help themselves—they finally obtained news of the Three Immortal Isles.
Seventh Gourd was the one who discovered the location of the Three Immortal Isles. His luck had always been quite good.
Thus, Xiao Teng and the other Calabash Kids hurried over.
A smile appeared on Xiao Teng's face as he looked at the island shrouded in mist ahead.
From afar, the Three Immortal Isles lay concealed within a hazy veil of fog, like an unrivaled beauty holding a pipa before her face, half concealing her beauty, exuding an aura that set hearts racing.
The islands were enveloped by an array, with mist spreading throughout. One truly would not find them without looking carefully.
Er Wa furrowed his brow tightly. "Father, I can't see what's inside."
Even Er Wa could not see through it, which proved this array was indeed rather interesting. The more it was so, the more it stirred Xiao Teng's curiosity. He wanted to see just what the Three Immortal Isles were like.
"Let's go in. Everyone, stay close together. Don't get separated."
With that, Xiao Teng stepped into the great array first, the Calabash Kids following closely behind.
The instant they entered the great array, dense white mist engulfed them. All around was chaos; as far as the eye could see, there was nothing but boundless whiteness. Their divine senses seemed to have sunk into a swamp, utterly unable to detect anything nearby.
At that moment, even the Calabash Kids' figures had vanished from sight. Fortunately, they shared a special connection and could sense each other's locations.
"Don't panic, everyone. We'll think of a way to break this array together."
Xiao Teng's voice was calm and resolute, giving the Calabash Kids a reassuring anchor.
The Calabash Kids themselves knew arrays and had studied them, so all eight of them began deciphering the formation together.
However, this Primordial Array was truly too powerful. Even joining forces, it was not easy for them to break it or open it.
"Everyone, use an array to break the array," Xiao Teng said.
The seven Calabash Kids found one another and gathered together.
Light flickered around them as their powers slowly merged, and they unleashed the peerlessly mighty Seven-Colored Primordial Unity Heavenly Dipper Formation.
Array light flashed, like a multicolored blazing sun blooming with dazzling radiance amid the white mist.
At the same time, Xiao Teng activated the Five-Element Spirit Pearls and opened the Five-Element Formation.
For a time, the two formations echoed one another, like two nimble flood dragons fighting their way through the white mist.
Gradually, under the powerful impact of the formations, a faint passage slowly emerged within the mist.
Xiao Teng's gaze sharpened, and he shouted, "Go!"
No one dared slack off in the slightest. They swiftly filed into the passage and finally stepped successfully into the Three Immortal Isles.
After entering the array, it felt as though they had arrived in an entirely new space.
Beneath their feet stretched a vast sea glimmering with ripples. At its center stood three towering islands, like three brilliant pearls set within it.
"It's so beautiful here, far more beautiful than our Mount Kongtong!" the Calabash Kids exclaimed in wonder.
Xiao Teng looked around, deeply moved as well. "These Three Immortal Isles truly are a rare blessed paradise in this world."
Excitement gleamed in Seventh Gourd's eyes as he tugged on Xiao Teng's sleeve. "Father, why don't we take this place for ourselves?"
Xiao Teng pondered slightly. If he remembered correctly, the Three Immortal Isles should later be occupied by Eastern King Duke and his people. After Eastern King Duke fell, this place would become the territory of the Demon Race.
But now that they had found this place first, it was not entirely impossible to claim it as their own.
After a moment, determination flashed through Xiao Teng's eyes. "All right, it's settled. We'll take the Three Immortal Isles."
Compared with Mount Kongtong, the Three Immortal Isles possessed obvious advantages. They stood alone above the East Sea, like an earthly paradise cut off from the world, unlikely to be swept up in the many disputes and calamities of the Primordial World's mainland.
Once the Shaman-Demon Tribulation and the Investiture Tribulation erupted, heaven and earth would surely be shattered by the fighting. When that time came, whether Mount Kongtong could remain intact would be difficult to predict.
With the Three Immortal Isles as their backyard, nothing could be better for them.
"Wonderful! The Three Immortal Isles are ours!" The Calabash Kids cheered and leaped with joy, then flew down toward the three islands separately.
The Three Immortal Isles were named Fanghu, Yingzhou, and Penglai. Of them, Penglai was the most distinctive and enchanting.
Xiao Teng drifted down and landed steadily upon Penglai Island.
Medicinal herbs covered the island. Immortal grasses swayed gently in the breeze, as though welcoming his arrival.
These medicinal herbs were vibrant in color and wreathed in spiritual energy, clearly all treasures of the world.
There were also numerous spiritual treasures on the island, some concealed among rocks, others scattered through the grass, emitting faint treasure light.
Moreover, Penglai Island contained many unique ores. These ores held powerful spiritual energy and were excellent materials for refining magical treasures.
Though these things held some value to Xiao Teng, they were not the primary objective of his visit.
What Xiao Teng sought were even more unique spiritual treasures.
