Background / History

Kyu transmigrated to the ninja world and spent nearly a year rising from Fugaku Uchiha’s obscure cousin to vice-captain of the Uchiha Police Force. His progress system let him perfect techniques without ordinary limits, while his growing strength made him a symbol to the clan’s radical younger generation 1 2.

He regarded Fugaku’s conciliatory approach toward Konoha as the primary cause of the Uchiha Clan’s political decline. After ordering the arrest of civilians who insulted the clan, Kyu openly rejected Fugaku’s warnings and committed himself to restoring Uchiha Clan power through self-reliance rather than cooperation with the Hokage faction 1 2.

Kyu secretly traded test subjects to Orochimaru for forbidden techniques copied from Konoha’s Sealing Scroll, including the Flying Thunder God Technique and the Five Elements Seal. He viewed the acquisition as preparation for a future confrontation with Konoha’s leadership and the Nine-Tails’ jinchūriki system 2 3.

After taking the Hokage position, Kyu transformed Konoha’s institutions into instruments for Uchiha Clan-led expansion. He consolidated the Land of Fire, founded the Immortal Empire, and built the Immortal Palace as the center of a planned Immortal City 47 78 108.

His later ambitions expanded beyond Konoha and even the shinobi world. He pursued the Tailed Beasts, the Ten-Tails, Ōtsutsuki knowledge, Divine Tree Fruits, and the Dragon Vein in preparation for imperial expansion into other worlds 125 135 179 245 250.

Appearance

Kyu is a young Uchiha Clan with flowing black hair. He is first seen wearing white beneath a cherry tree; after becoming clan head, he appears in black robe-sleeved clothing 1 13.

  • Crimson Sharingan, later revealed as Mangekyō Sharingan 2 6.
  • His Mangekyō use can leave blood streaming from his eyes 8.
  • Uses a long blade in close combat and carries Flying Thunder God-marked kunai 15 42.
  • As emperor, he wears a casual black coat threaded with gold and is attended by palace servants 194.
  • In Six Paths Mode, a white robe marked with Six Paths tomoe replaces his ordinary clothing; he manifests a forehead Nine-Tomoe Sharingan, Rinnegan, Truth-Seeking Orbs, and a black staff 135 137.

Personality

Kyu is intensely self-assured, confrontational, and contemptuous of indecision. He believes the Uchiha Clan’s survival depends on power, preparation, and the willingness to act ruthlessly when compromise fails 1 8.

He is also highly pragmatic. He recruits Orochimaru despite the scientist’s atrocities, uses Mikoto and Itachi as leverage against Fugaku, and treats war, economic control, and political appointments as tools for building long-term Uchiha Clan strength 4 20 32 47.

Despite his authoritarian methods, Kyu seeks collective Uchiha Clan advancement rather than personal glory alone. He promises his followers that the clan’s future success will belong to all of them, personally encourages younger members, and later protects the surviving Uchiha Clan during Konoha’s assault on the compound 18 32 39 45.

As emperor, Kyu increasingly treats fear, reverence, and controlled violence as necessary mechanisms of government. He uses collective punishment against hostile clans, ideological education for Uchiha Clan children, and political patronage to secure absolute loyalty 50 52 246.

He remains capable of selective respect and sentiment despite his ruthlessness. He honors fallen soldiers with burial, refuses to reclaim Obito’s gifted Sharingan from Kakashi because he recognizes its meaning as a symbol of friendship, and rewards service with status or protection for a subordinate’s family 51 88 99.

Abilities & Skills

Training Progress System

Kyu can view the completion progress of techniques and train them without normal aptitude bottlenecks 2.

  • Perfects both ordinary techniques and forbidden Uchiha Clan techniques through visible progress tracking 2.
  • Treats combat and war as opportunities to accelerate further progress 38.
  • Enables him to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique despite Orochimaru’s documented lack of aptitude for it 3.
  • Has learned every Konoha ninjutsu at least once, including all forbidden techniques recorded in the Sealing Scroll 72.
  • Uses the template as a foundation for mastering new knowledge, including lineage-factor theory and Yin–Yang Release applications 193 194.

Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan

Kyu possesses the Mangekyō Sharingan, whose ocular power gives him superior perception, genjutsu, battlefield control, and authority within the strength-oriented Uchiha Clan 4 6.

  • Can overwhelm weaker Uchiha Clan through the pressure of his higher-ranked Sharingan 4.
  • Uses genjutsu to incapacitate Uchiha Clan elders and force their removal from power 13.
  • Manipulates Yagura Karatachi’s mind and uses the connection to trigger a genjutsu backlash against Obito 33.
  • His ocular techniques consume substantial chakra and ocular power; repeated use of Space Crushing is restricted until he can attain Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan 7.
  • Later possesses Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, allowing him to use high-level ocular abilities without the ordinary Mangekyō’s progressive blindness 85.
  • Uses Mangekyō genjutsu to dominate the Nine-Tails and to torture information out of it when necessary 78 99.

Space Crushing

Space Crushing is Kyu’s primary Mangekyō spatial technique, exerting crushing force over a targeted area 6 7.

  • Instantly kills Root ninja through spatial compression 7.
  • Breaks through Earth Release barriers and kills hundreds of Leaf ninja on a battlefield-wide scale 9.
  • Forces Minato to flee during the conflict over Kushina and the Nine-Tails 41.
  • Destroys Konan’s Paper Release spear by distorting the space around it 56.
  • Requires heavy chakra and ocular-power expenditure, leaving Kyu exhausted after large-scale use 7 9.

Flying Thunder God Technique

Kyu acquired the Flying Thunder God Technique from Orochimaru’s stolen Sealing Scroll material and trained it through his progress system 2 3.

  • Teleports via marked kunai and uses scattered markers to control enemy movement 10 11.
  • Defeats more than twenty Anbu within a minute after surrounding them with marked kunai 15.
  • Counters Minato’s teleportation-based assassination style because he understands its mechanics 10.
  • Teleports the Nine-Tails across the battlefield to evade sealing attempts and strike Leaf forces unexpectedly 42.
  • Uses spatial movement alongside clones and misdirection to evade the combined Rinnegan and Akatsuki assault 56 57.
  • Teaches the technique, together with his personal notes, to Uchiha Kage after becoming Hokage 51.

Susanoo

Kyu can manifest Susanoo as a massive chakra construct for offense and defense 8 12.

  • Uses Susanoo to overwhelm Leaf forces during the initial uprising 8.
  • Deploys it against Hiruzen Sarutobi’s Ruyi Jingu Bang 12.
  • Covers the controlled Nine-Tails in Susanoo armor, creating an armored tailed beast comparable to Madara’s historical display of power 44.
  • The armored Nine-Tails form can be sustained for only several minutes at his current chakra level 44.
  • Can manifest Susanoo around himself against Rinnegan black rods and other high-level attacks 57.
  • Later coats the Ten-Tails in dark Susanoo armor, creating an armor-clad Ten-Tails capable of causing environmental catastrophes on a vast scale 243.

Tailed Beast Control

Kyu can dominate the Nine-Tails through Mangekyō Sharingan genjutsu 39 41.

  • Uses the Nine-Tails’ presence to halt an ongoing battle without immediately firing a Tailed Beast Bomb 39.
  • Suppresses the Nine-Tails’ own Tailed Beast Bomb with ocular power 41.
  • Uses the beast to slaughter opposing Leaf forces and pressure Minato into revealing himself 41 42.
  • Extracts the Nine-Tails from Kushina Uzumaki and seals it within himself, freeing her from the burden of being a jinchūriki 78.
  • Uses the Nine-Tails’ immense chakra reserves as a long-term source of power and information 99 116.
  • Later overwhelms the Ten-Tails’ will and becomes its jinchūriki, exercising complete control over its consciousness and power 135.

Rinnegan and Six Paths Power

After becoming the Ten-Tails’ jinchūriki, Kyu awakens Six Paths-level abilities 135.

  • Manifests the Ten-Tails’ Nine-Tomoe Sharingan on his forehead and fully awakens his own Rinnegan 135.
  • Enters Six Paths Mode, gains flight, forms a Six Paths staff, and controls Truth-Seeking Orbs that can erase ordinary matter on contact 135 137.
  • Uses the Rinnegan technique Time Rotation: Samsara of All Things to rapidly age and disintegrate Obito, killing him before he can resist 135.
  • Maintains that Sharingan and Rinnegan powers belong to separate systems and cannot be used simultaneously at full capacity 88.
  • Uses Six Paths power and his control of the Ten-Tails to prepare for threats from Hagoromo, Kaguya, and the wider Ōtsutsuki Clan 125 141 179.

Yin–Yang Release and Divine Tree Power

Kyu possesses Yin–Yang Power and applies it to both combat and biological research 135 193.

  • Understands Yin–Yang Release as the fusion of Yin and Yang capable of creating objects and life from nothing 193.
  • Cooperates with Orochimaru to decode lineage factors and create Kekkei Genkai that can be inherited by future descendants, potentially establishing artificial bloodline clans 193.
  • Uses Yin–Yang Power to destroy Black Zetsu, whose essence is itself Yin–Yang Release 227.
  • Absorbs a Divine Tree Fruit and gains Infinite Regeneration, allowing restoration even if only a minute remnant of his body remains 241.

  • Uchiha Itachi — Young relative, direct student, and intended successor. Kyu removes him from Fugaku’s sole influence and shapes him into a protector of the Uchiha Clan rather than its destroyer 18 19 30 51 91.
  • Uchiha Shisui — Valuable Uchiha Clan prodigy, intelligence commander, and trusted Mangekyō user. Kyu knows of Shisui’s Mangekyō Sharingan, entrusts him with vital security and reconnaissance duties, and has him test Orochimaru’s ocular-treatment eye drops 13 30 106 115.
  • Orochimaru — Political, scientific, and later personal ally. Kyu provides research resources, laboratories, government authority, rare prisoners, and Yin–Yang Power in exchange for cooperation and scientific innovation 2 20 47 115 193.
  • Hiashi Hyuga — Ally whose clan becomes tied to Kyu’s rise through political pressure, economic concessions, and shared opposition to Konoha’s old leadership. Hiashi later serves as a trusted imperial administrator and financial advisor 21 22 25 90 106.
  • Minato Namikaze — Rival and eventual subordinate. Kyu counters Minato’s Flying Thunder God, forces his resignation as Hokage, appoints him Minister of the Anbu, and later entrusts him with Kushina’s safety and major imperial operations 10 45 47 78 243.
