The Land of Flame’s army fought the Lightning Country’s forces, with Uchiha Enkō confident that victory was assured. As the battle turned in his army’s favor, the First Raikage launched a surprise assassination against him.
Enkō survived the First Raikage A’s surprise attack and faced him in battle without using Susanoo. Enkō gained the upper hand, but A let Cold Edge pierce his shoulder so he could close in with another Dark Lightning strike.
Enkō battled the First Raikage, who used lightning and ballista bolts but failed to defeat him. After Enkō expelled the chakra disrupting his Sharingan, two new opponents joined the fight and attacked him from the side.
Enkō defeated Kinkaku and Ginkaku while the First Raikage gathered natural lightning for a lethal technique. As the lightning pool formed overhead, Enkō began to perceive natural energy, and the First Raikage unleashed his attack to bury them both in lightning.
Enkō survived the First Raikage’s final lightning strike, defeated the Lightning Country’s forces, and secured victory for the Land of Flame army. As the army prepared to take Thunderclap City, an unseen group set out to bring a traitor back.
After the Land of Flame conquered the Lightning Country, Enkō explored the beginnings of Sage Art and accepted a group of Cloud Hidden Village shinobi into his ranks. As Enkō finally fell asleep in the Lightning Daimyo Palace, four mysterious figures appeared and destroyed his residence with a Sage Art.
Enkō fought the four sisters Ling Ji, Ze Ji, Fu Ji, and Yao Ji, Ryūchi Cave’s enforcement squad, after they came to reclaim Mad Fang. The battle left Enkō disarmed in midair as a burst of white smoke engulfed him and the sisters.
Enkō fought the four sisters, but Ling Ji began using Sage Art: Qian at the cost of her life. As Enkō prepared to face the technique, Ling Ji revealed that her target was Mad Fang.
Ling Ji used the “Qian” word of the Eight Trigrams Sage Words to pin Mad Fang down, but Enkō turned the battle by hurling Ze Ji and striking Yao Ji with Ze Ji’s tail. Ling Ji exhausted herself and collapsed, leaving the fight amid the city’s ruins.
After Enkō defeated the women sent to capture Mad Fang, he let them leave and promised to visit Ryūchi Cave. The White Snake Sage divined Enkō’s future and saw a red light, a sign of great misfortune.
After Kumogakure ninja appeared on the Land of Earth's front, Reto ordered Sunagakure to take advantage of the distraction and launch a costly assault on the Hyuga-led army. As the Land of Wind celebrated its advances, Tobirama arrived alone as the Land of Fire's reinforcements and hinted at a deadly counterattack.
Tobirama used the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu to send the dead Iwagakure Demolition Corps into the Land of Wind camp under Zhen’s lead. Shamon saw through the deception and surrounded them, but the reanimated ninjas began using Tobirama’s explosive-tag jutsu.
Tobirama and Hyuga Yuto discussed the limits and risks of using Impure World Reincarnation to unleash Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags. After Shamon’s camp was devastated by the first blast, the resurrected Iwagakure shinobi prepared to detonate the technique again.
Reto defended Sunagakure's camp from Tobirama Senju's Impure World Reincarnation Demolition Corps and discovered that sealing techniques could contain them. Tobirama withdrew his remaining forces, but Reto tracked him and Hyuga Yuto down and attacked them.
Hyuga Yuto and Tobirama Senju confronted First Kazekage Reto, then escaped before his reinforcements arrived. Reto and Zamonemon decided to seek Uchiha Enkō’s help against Tobirama as Enkō approached the Land of Fire border.
Ishikawa decided to ask the Land of Fire to protect Iwagakure’s rear so his forces could send reinforcements to the third battlefield. On the second battlefield, Kurama Qiye volunteered to lead a dangerous mission to destroy Kannabi Bridge, but someone outside the tent offered to go in his place.
Mito set out on a mission toward Kannabi Bridge and agreed to bring Danzo, Mitokado Homura, and Utatane Koharu after they insisted on helping Konoha. Near the bridge, Danzo and Homura encountered two enemy ninja, and one of them spotted their hiding place.
After the Land of Earth traded the Lonely Mountain Wasteland for reinforcements, Kagami Uchiha and Might Yuan guarded the rear line and encountered Danzo, Enkō, and Mitokado Homura. The fight left Danzo injured, but he refused to retreat and challenged Kagami again.
Kagami Uchiha and Might Yuan fought Danzo and Mitokado Homura, using their teamwork to target Homura. Just as Might Yuan’s attack seemed about to kill him, Mito intervened, and she faced a mysterious purple-haired figure who had once admired her.
Juri faced her former idol, Uzumaki Mito, as Mito tried to reach Kannabi Bridge and complete her mission. The two prepared to fight, with the approaching patrol squad giving them only a short window before reinforcements arrived.
Uzumaki Mito and Uchiha Chiri fought fiercely in the forest, trading sword strikes, sealing chains, and ninjutsu. After acknowledging each other’s strength and debating their visions for peace, Mito released her Yin Seal and Chiri awakened her Mangekyō Sharingan, leaving their duel poised to intensify.
