Sure enough, something unexpected had happened. Though he did not know what kind of enemies they were, the sounds of battle could not be faked. It was clear that a fight had already broken out.

Uchiha Jobu swiftly rolled out of bed, donned his smaller suit of armor, drew the short blade strapped to his back, and said coldly, "Disturbing my sleep in the middle of the night comes at the cost of blood."

In the pale moonlight that shone through the parting clouds, several figures could be seen fighting Ying. Their unusual eyes gleamed an eerie crimson, strikingly similar to the Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan.

But it was absolutely impossible for Uchiha Clan ninja to appear here.

Shinteng Zoi turned over in his sleep, still lost in pleasant dreams and utterly unaffected by the battle outside.

"Dead Bone Pulse! Grass-Skirt Flower Dance!"

Ying possessed considerable talent as a ninja, but her combat experience was far too lacking. She failed to bring out the full power of the Dead Bone Pulse, and her enemy caught her bone blade with a kunai, preventing her from smoothly combining it with taijutsu attacks.

Those eerie crimson eyes looked especially bewitching beneath the moonlight.

There was no mistaking those eyes. Uchiha Jobu murmured inwardly, The Chinoike Clan? A ninja clan that also relies on dojutsu. Their Blood Dragon Eye possesses genjutsu abilities, just like the Sharingan.

"Another one has shown up. Is he some brat from the Uchiha Clan? I've never had the chance to fight an Uchiha ninja. I wonder whether the Sharingan is stronger, or our clan's Blood Dragon Eye."

"Enough nonsense. Kill this woman, then slaughter that brat. We'll take Shinteng Zoi's head back and complete the mission."

Ying was just about to have her throat cut. The edge of the kunai was less than two centimeters from her neck.

Uchiha Jobu narrowed his eyes and activated his Two-Tomoe Sharingan, revealing a pair of eyes even darker red than the Blood Dragon Eye.

"Idiots. You couldn't even kill a woman who had lost the ability to resist."

"Tch, I merely slipped up. It's no big deal. Once we kill this Uchiha brat, we can kill everyone else too. The result will be the same."

"So this is the Sharingan? It's as captivating as the Blood Dragon Eye. I like that color. I've decided! I'll gouge out this brat's eyes and add them to my collection!"

"Hahahaha! A pair of beautiful, soul-stirring Sharingan as a collectible? I want them too."

Uchiha Jobu said coldly, "It seems you did not take what I said earlier to heart."

A Chinoike ninja asked in confusion, "Earlier? Did you say something?"

"I said..."

"Think carefully about how you can avoid being killed by me."

"Otherwise, all of you will die."

Using the Body Flicker Technique, he instantly appeared before the nearest Chinoike ninja. Facing the man's astonished gaze, Uchiha Jobu thrust out his short blade without hesitation. He had no intention of showing mercy, cleanly and decisively killing one enemy first.

His body had been pierced through by a single stab, but his life had not yet reached its end. With one last breath remaining, he wanted to say something, but all he heard beside his ear was the Uchiha ninja's voice, cold to the extreme.

"So you're trash-tier Chunin."

Although iron treasure chests could not yield anything particularly good, they were still somewhat better than wooden ones.

"Notice: Obtained 'Military Ration Pill' (X1)."

He casually opened the treasure chest and obtained a Military Ration Pill. Then he looked toward the attacking enemies, sneered, and used the Substitution Technique to evade their attack.

"These people should be Chinoike Clan ninja. Their eyes are called the Blood Dragon Eye. They aren't opponents we can handle."

Ying made a calm judgment and led the two luckier subordinates back to where Shinteng Zoi was.

That was the wisest choice. If they rushed in despite lacking the strength, they would not only be delivering themselves to the enemy, but also creating trouble for Uchiha Jobu.

Retreating was better.

Without activating the Dead Bone Pulse, he fought his enemies using only his short blade and discovered that the Blood Dragon Eye's dynamic vision was far inferior to the Sharingan's.

If it possessed no other special abilities, Uchiha Jobu was certain that he would not even need to activate the Dead Bone Pulse. The Two-Tomoe Sharingan's dynamic vision and copying ability alone would let him easily kill these Chinoike ninja.

But suddenly, his eyelids twitched violently, as though some danger was about to descend. Uchiha Jobu did not hesitate at all and used the Body Flicker Technique twice in rapid succession to evade.

Boom!

An explosion several times more powerful than an Explosive Tag erupted exactly where he had been standing.

Uchiha Jobu said in disbelief, "You actually used the Blood Dragon Eye's power to control your own clansmen and turn them into human bombs!"

The Chinoike ninja laughed wildly. "Brat, this is the proper way to use the Blood Dragon Eye! Compared to the Sharingan possessed by your Uchiha Clan, the true combat form of our Chinoike Clan is using these eyes to create bombs!"
