Background

Jiang Chen was originally a university freshman on Blue Star. He died after being struck by a runaway truck during school registration, then reincarnated into the Douluo world. He spent six years as an orphan in Holy Soul Village, supporting himself partly by gathering herbs and unsuccessfully attempting to awaken the System he expected to possess. During this period, Tang San mistook him for a spy on the back mountain and threatened him, establishing Jiang Chen’s lasting hostility toward him 1.

At his martial-soul awakening, Jiang Chen manifested the Azure Lotus and tested as having Innate Full Soul Power. His God-Tier Choice System activated immediately afterward; he chose Wuhun Hall and received the divine Zhuxian Sword as a second Martial Soul along with Title Douluo-level cultivation 1.

Master Su brought him to Wuhun City, where Bibi Dong personally verified his talent, accepted him as her disciple, named him Wuhun Hall’s Holy Son, and placed him in Autumn Pavilion near her chambers 2 3. His confidence is grounded in overwhelming hidden power, though it often manifests as teasing, arrogance, and reckless displays.

Despite his ruthlessness toward enemies, Jiang Chen is protective of people he considers his own. He resolves to alter the tragic futures of Hu Liena and Qian Renxue, safeguards Xiao Wu rather than taking her Soul Ring, saves Bibi Dong by taking a lethal poison into his own body, and intervenes when weaker cultivators are abused 3 12 28 30.

God Realm Journey

After confronting the Far North’s rulers and driving away a divine observer, Jiang Chen enters the God Realm and kills Noss of the Divine Temple 10 11. He travels with Li Jiang and Ye Hongyu toward Fruit Mountain, destroys Luo Mo and the Divine Temple guards, then claims the Ruyi Golden-Banded Staff from the sacred mountain 12 16 17.

When the awakened Divine Ape traps cultivators within Fruit Mountain, Jiang Chen uses Myriad Swords Return to the Sect to open an escape route. He gives Ye Hongyu the Soul-Cleansing Jade before returning alone to the lower realm 18.

Consolidating Wuhun Hall

Jiang Chen returns to Wuhun Hall as a god, gains Bibi Dong’s renewed trust, and begins expanding his influence beyond the Spirit Hall 19. He grants Chen Xin the Sword God’s Nine Trials, persuades Ning Fengzhi to keep the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect neutral, evolves Ning Rongrong’s Martial Soul, and brings Qian Renxue back from her Heaven Dou infiltration mission 20 21 24.

Advanced Soul Master Tournament

As tournament host, Jiang Chen secretly gathers hundreds of summoned Title Douluos in Wuhun City while preparing for Tang San’s faction 25 26.
