Uchiha Itachi did not hesitate much and readily agreed. "Father, my Chakra should have been sealed, right? I can't use the Summoning Technique?"
Seeing that he had agreed to hand over Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan, Takuya felt a flicker of joy, but he did not lower his guard. He directly activated his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.
Logically, his eyes were a tier above Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan, but whether they could withstand Kotoamatsukami remained uncertain. After all, no one had ever tried it before; there was no precedent for it in either the manga or anime.
He felt somewhat unsure. Was this brat Uchiha Itachi pretending to be obedient, hoping Takuya would lift the seal on him so he could take out Shisui's eye and use Kotoamatsukami on him?
Itachi should not be that insane, right? After all, Takuya had said the coup had succeeded and the village had not been affected.
He should have had someone else come instead and stood guard at the exit himself. That way, no matter who fell under Kotoamatsukami, they would not be able to escape his grasp. After all, Kotoamatsukami had usage restrictions and could not be used again for a long time after each activation.
But it was too late to switch people now. He could only hope the Eternal Eye would hold up, considering it was an Eternal Eye that stood above ordinary Mangekyo Sharingan.
Takuya used the method Uchiha Sihu had taught him and released the seal on Uchiha Itachi.
He also untied the ropes binding him.
Uchiha Itachi immediately felt much better, though being unable to see still left him somewhat uncomfortable.
But he was, after all, a genius of the Uchiha Clan. As though he could see, he slowly rose to his feet. He did not sway from side to side despite having lost his eyes, standing perfectly steady.
Takuya took several steps back and watched him with a grave expression.
At the slightest sign of trouble, he would use Susanoo and kill Uchiha Itachi outright.
Uchiha Itachi still had no idea that his nominal father had developed murderous intentions toward him.
He stood where he was and slowly took a breath, then bit his thumb and formed hand seals.
Takuya watched without blinking. Uchiha Itachi's hand seals were incredibly fast, nearly turning into afterimages. It seemed losing his eyes had not affected his sealing speed in the slightest.
That made sense. Practice made perfect; whether he could see or not would not affect hand seals.
Boar—Dog—Bird—Monkey—Ram.
As Uchiha Itachi completed the Ram seal, there was a bang, and a cloud of white smoke appeared out of thin air.
Takuya focused completely, warily waiting for the smoke to clear.
When it dispersed, a large pitch-black crow stood on Uchiha Itachi's shoulder.
The moment he saw the crow, Takuya became highly alert!
But after examining it carefully, he finally relaxed. Both of the crow's eyes were ordinary eyes. It seemed Itachi had not yet transplanted Shisui's eye into the crow.
Then where was the eye?
There was nowhere on the crow's body to hide anything. Takuya's gaze fell beneath its wing, where there was a bulge.
Uchiha Itachi first fumbled around and stroked the crow's head before taking a glass container from beneath its wing. It was the same kind as the glass container in his hand.
Inside the glass container was Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan.
"Father."
Itachi held the glass container out in front of him.
Takuya carefully swept his gaze over it. Only after confirming there were no traces of genjutsu did he step forward and take the glass container from Uchiha Itachi's hand.
After confirming there was no problem, Takuya took out the container holding the other Shisui Mangekyo Sharingan he had seized from Danzo, placed them together, and stored them back in his storage scroll.
Only after finishing all that did Takuya finally let out a sigh of relief.
With that, Uchiha Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan were complete. He could replace the eyes of a clan member loyal to him at any time, instantly adding another Mangekyo Sharingan wielder to his side.
And Kotoamatsukami, its ocular technique, was among the very best of the best. If it was not used, then fine—but once it was used...
Not dwelling on such pointless thoughts, Takuya looked at Uchiha Itachi. Seeing him stroking the crow's head, Takuya had no intention of breaking his word. He brought Uchiha Itachi out of the underground chamber and had him sit on a stool.
"You stay here and don't move. I'll go buy some oranges—cough, cough. I'll go call Uchiha Hideki to replace your eyes."
Takuya had unconsciously recited that classic line from Back View. When he saw Uchiha Itachi's bewildered expression, he coughed twice and quickly left.
Fortunately, Uchiha Hideki was merely a Chunin who had not even awakened the Three-Tomoe Sharingan. Naturally, he was not qualified to participate in today's operation. After Takuya had called him in to remove Itachi's eyes, he had returned to work at Konoha Hospital.
If nothing unexpected had happened, Uchiha Hideki should have finished work and returned home by now.
There were so many people in the Uchiha Clan that even Uchiha Fugaku, as clan head, could not possibly remember where everyone lived.
But Uchiha Hideki was one of the few medical ninja in the Uchiha Clan, so Fugaku still knew.
By checking Fugaku's memories, Takuya quickly found Uchiha Hideki's home address.
It was a very ordinary two-story detached house, similar to the detached homes built in rural Japan in his previous life, all made of wood.
In fact, it was not just Uchiha Hideki's home. Most houses in Konoha were wooden structures as well.
Of course, Fugaku's home was not this kind of detached house. It was an old-style mansion, distinguished by its wooden construction, purely Japanese design, more than 150 square meters of living space, over 200 square meters of land, and a Japanese-style courtyard and vegetable garden. It had an antique, elegant charm.
It was not only Fugaku's home; some of the Uchiha Clan elders also lived in such old-style mansions.
At this moment, lights were on inside Uchiha Hideki's home, and Takuya went straight up and knocked on the door.
Knock, knock, knock. One light knock followed by two heavy ones, three knocks in succession.
Someone inside responded quickly.
"Coming! Please wait a moment."
It was the voice of a middle-aged woman.
"Oh my, Clan Head!"
The middle-aged woman who opened the door saw the person standing outside and immediately bowed respectfully.
"Mhm." Takuya nodded. "Is Hideki home?"
"Yes, he is. I'll go call him right away."
The middle-aged woman bowed again before turning and hurrying off in quick little steps to fetch him.
Soon, amid a burst of hurried footsteps, Uchiha Hideki appeared at the door.
"Clan Head."
Without another word, Uchiha Hideki bent at the waist respectfully.
Takuya gave him a glance. "Put on some clothes and come with me."
Uchiha Hideki could not figure out why the clan head had come for him, and anxiety rose in his heart. Could he be here to settle scores after the fact?
He was worried.
Takuya casually reminded him, "You're going to replace Itachi's eyes with Three-Tomoe Sharingan. Remember to bring your tools."
Uchiha Hideki let out a long breath of relief, nodded heavily, and hurried back inside.
Takuya did not have to wait long before Uchiha Hideki arrived at the door carrying the same white suitcase as he had during the day.
This time, he was not wearing a white coat.
"Let's go."
Takuya called out and took the lead.
Uchiha Hideki hurriedly followed behind the clan head.
After walking for only a short while, he realized they were not heading toward the clan head's home. Although puzzled, he wisely did not ask and simply followed silently behind the clan head.
