Background
The Earth Deity is a divine remnant connected to the Huaxia Remnant Realm. According to him, the God-Sealing Record was left behind not by the true bodies of Huaxia’s gods, but by traces of their divine consciousness; the relic can grow and create independently. 9
Gu Hengzhi initially attempted to summon the Jade Emperor, but the ordinary stone vessel shattered under the pressure of a high-ranking god’s divine might. Learning from this failure, Gu chose the Earth Deity as a guardian of land and people whose power better suited his low cultivation. 7 8
Gu carved the Earth Deity directly from his incomplete Stone Statue Martial Soul. Each cut made with the Soul-Carving Blade drained soul power and burned away fragments of his memories and emotions, but he completed the shoulder-high divine embryo by noon. 8
The deity successfully descended after Gu performed a respectful offering ritual. The God-Sealing Record permanently inscribed him as its first deity, and the Earth Deity pledged to protect Gu’s path toward godhood. 9
Appearance
The Earth Deity is generally portrayed as a kindly elder with an ancient, solemn divine bearing. His divine-statue image is associated with earth, harvest, protection, and understated offerings. 8 9
- Round face and smiling crescent eyes. 8
- Tall crown or small cap, depending on his manifestation. 8 9
- Broad-sleeved yellow robe or coarse clothing with a yellow sash. 9 15
- White hair and beard in his consciousness manifestation. 15 16
- Holds a ruyi scepter; a jade pendant hangs at his waist in the God-Sealing Record portrait. 9
- Carries a jade ruler when guiding the creation of a Spirit Field. 17
Personality
The Earth Deity is benevolent, patient, and protective. He values stable foundations over rapid advancement, repeatedly teaching Gu Hengzhi that cultivation should resemble deep-rooted growth rather than reckless pursuit of immediate strength. 10
He is also pragmatic. He warns Gu that Tang San cannot be killed before ascending to godhood because Tang San’s fate is tied to the plane’s survival; instead, Gu should hinder him while forging an independent destiny. 9
Though dignified, he can be openly pleased by progress and combat. He laughs after overcoming the Mutated Earth Azure Bull and takes a personal interest in preserving the beast as his spiritual mount. 25 26

Spirit Field Creation
The Earth Deity guides Gu Hengzhi in transforming barren land into a Spirit Field. 17
- Explains that Faith Power must reach and nourish an Earth Vein, rather than merely cover the ground’s surface. 17
- Uses a jade ruler to open a route into the Earth Vein. 17
- Helps establish a Spirit Field with moist, fertile, spiritually radiant soil. 17
- Requires an additional strand of Tier-One Faith Power after fifteen days to stabilize the field. 17
Mountain-Subduing Lost Paths Formation
A defensive formation bestowed after Gu Hengzhi’s Spirit Field is robbed. 30
- Uses Earth Vein nodes and statues of the Earth Deity and Xiao Qing as formation anchors. 30
- Disorients intruders through dust and wind, trapping them and causing them to lose direction. 30
- Grows stronger alongside Gu Hengzhi’s cultivation. 30
- Can be strengthened further with Tier-One Faith Power. 30
- Is stated to be difficult to break for opponents fewer than two major realms above Gu Hengzhi. 30
