A momentary lapse left Noer standing there.
Lacus took in Noer's expression and slowly walked over with a triumphant smile. "Mr. Noer, the Red Reaper, it looks like you have the grin of a lecherous pig on your face."
"If becoming a pig meant I could root around this cabbage of yours, I don't think anyone would refuse to become one."
Noer came back to himself and reached out to touch Lacus's cheek.
Lacus often made him wonder whether everything he had experienced was merely a dream.
Yet whenever he woke in the quiet depths of night, she curled up in his arms would tell him that it was not a dream.
Her existence made him question what was real.
Her existence also allowed him to affirm reality.
Perhaps that was what dreams were like.
Lacus did not stop him. She merely smiled and placed her hand over the palm resting against her cheek, quietly feeling the warmth conveyed through his hand.
"Would you like to take a walk? PLANT is beautiful tonight."
Noer rarely saw Lacus wear casual clothes outside. Or rather, since she became acting chairwoman, other than that wedding dress, she had never worn anything besides formal attire in public.
It seemed he had not been a very competent husband.
Lacus chuckled. "After walking around all day, can you still walk?"
"If it's with you, I could walk for a lifetime."
Noer did not dislike Lacus's slight wicked streak.
"Noer, you really do seem to have become a scumbag now."
Lacus smiled.
"I just want all of you to be a little happier."
Noer smiled helplessly.
It seemed Mina had already told her about what happened today. He really did not know what to say about that.
"You really are a scumbag."
