Background / History

Originally the sacrificial spirit of Shi Village in the Desolate Domain, the Willow Deity sensed an unfamiliar karmic connection after Shi Hao invoked her name while facing death. She traced the bond to a universe within a flower petal and discovered another Shi Hao in the Douluo Continent Pocket World. The Contract System then confirmed an irreversible life-and-death contract: either partner must rescue the other in a mortal crisis 2.

Because the Pocket World could not endure her true body, she initially entered Douluo through an avatar. She saved Shi Hao from Tang San, pierced Tang San’s left leg with a willow branch, destroyed his Zhuge Divine Crossbow, healed Shi Hao, and warned Tang San that continued cruelty toward innocents would eventually lead to his erasure 3 5.

Shi Hao later requested formal discipleship. The Willow Deity accepted after he kowtowed three times, imparted the Original True Interpretation: God Guidance Chapter, and subsequently gave him a willow branch as his second martial soul. She also passed on Divine Techniques associated with another Shi Hao 5 6.

During the battle at Tiandou Palace, she answered Shi Hao’s summons again. A single burst of emerald sword qi incapacitated the four Tang Sect elders, and her later personal descent forced multiple factions—including the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect—to withdraw 41 42 44.

She later revealed that Shi Hao and the Wild Heavenly Emperor are the same being across time: Shi Hao is the latter’s future, while the Wild Heavenly Emperor is his past. She warned that Shi Hao’s rise would disrupt the God Realm’s fortune and bring a coming calamity, but refused to remain at his side permanently, insisting he must mature through hardship 46 47.

The Willow Deity is calm, majestic, and difficult to provoke. She regards Tang San’s threats as beneath her attention, yet directly condemns his slaughter of innocents and warns him against abusing the fortune he bears 3.

Toward Shi Hao, she is notably gentle and protective. She accepts him as a disciple, heals and equips him, watches over him while he sleeps, and shows concern for the dangers surrounding his destiny. However, she also refuses to let him depend on her completely, maintaining that he must confront calamity himself to grow stronger 5 6 47.
