Background

Tang San attacks the Main Spirits Palace in Gengxin City to seize the Eight Treasures Ruyi Soft Armor. During the raid, he kills Platinum Bishop Meers, Spirit Hall Spirit Masters, and several Soul Kings, using hidden weapons, the Zhuge Divine Crossbow, the Blue Silver Thorn Formation, and the Eight Spider Lances. He spots Shi Hao witnessing the assault and pursues him because Shi Hao wears a Spirit Hall uniform. 1

While attempting to kill Shi Hao, Tang San is interrupted by the Willow Deity. Her willow branch pierces his left calf, and she subsequently crushes him with her pressure, shattering his Zhuge Divine Crossbow and nearly exhausting his soul power. Tang San remains defiant, insisting he will someday surpass her. 2 3

His unhealed leg injury leaves him vulnerable when Shi Hao intercepts him at the Gengxin City battlefield. Tang San is repeatedly beaten, fails to escape with Ma Hongjun’s help, and loses the Eight Treasures Ruyi Soft Armor, the Twenty-Four Bridges Bright Moon Night belt, his hidden weapons, blueprints, and 80 million gold soul coins. 7 8 11 12 18

Following the Willow Deity’s intervention in Tiandou, Tang San helps organize Shrek Academy and Tang Sect resistance against Shi Hao’s Stone Kingdom. Though the initial resistance is broken and he abandons the immediate rescue of Yu Xiaogang and Ma Hongjun, he later recovers his Soul Power and returns to the imperial dungeon with Zhu Zhuqing to rescue them. 39 45 65 73 75

Appearance

After awakening the Blue Silver Emperor, Tang San has long, thick blue hair. His injuries frequently leave him pale, bloodied, and unable to walk normally. 7 11 22

Personality

Tang San is prideful, calculating, and intensely concerned with preserving his reputation. After losing the Eight Treasures Ruyi Soft Armor, he considers the loss of face more intolerable than the loss of the artifact itself. 7

He is also resilient and defiant under pressure. Even after Qian Renxue defeats him and offers him survival through submission to Spirit Hall, he refuses. 22 However, his resolve collapses in the Willow Deity’s presence: he retreats rather than attempt to rescue Yu Xiaogang and Ma Hongjun, despite promising to return for them. 44 45

Tang San is ruthlessly protective of those he considers his own. During the dungeon rescue, his fury at Yu Xiaogang’s abuse drives him to kill the jailer and every prisoner attempting to escape. 73 Conversely, he is willing to shift humiliation onto others to survive, first allowing Ma Hongjun to apologize in his place and later asking Yu Xiaogang to submit to Shi Hao and Huo Ling’er on his behalf. 12 86

His repeated defeats do not extinguish his ambition. Though fear and humiliation repeatedly overwhelm him during his encounters with Shi Hao, he turns his resentment into a determination to seek the Sea God inheritance and eventually take revenge. 85 87 90 91 He also conceals the extent of his second defeat from Flender, claiming that Shi Hao had merely ambushed him during the rescue mission. 92

Conflict with Shi Hao

Tang San returns to the battlefield to recover the armor, only to be ambushed by Shi Hao. He attempts counterattacks with Yama’s Invitation, the Clear Sky Hammer, concealed weapons, and a coordinated escape with Ma Hongjun, but each attempt fails. 7 8 9 11

Shi Hao takes Tang San’s storage belt and allows Ma Hongjun to bear the demanded apology in his place. Tang San leaves Gengxin City injured, disarmed, and intent on revenge against both Shi Hao and the Willow Deity. 12 13

Tiandou Palace Incident

Tang San fights Qian Renxue during the struggle for the Tiandou throne. His damaged left leg reopens under the Angel Domain’s pressure, and he is unable to activate his Martial Soul Avatar because he has not reached level seventy. He refuses Qian Renxue’s offer to join Spirit Hall before the Sacred Giant Dragon interrupts her execution attempt. 22

Resistance to the Stone Emperor

After Shi Hao claims the throne, Tang San calls Shrek Academy and Tang Sect reinforcements to the palace. He rallies Dugu Bo and other allies against Shi Hao and Fairy Yuechan, framing their rise as a threat to Xue Beng, Shrek Academy, the Tang Sect, and Yu Xiaogang. 28 35

Tang San later organizes a coordinated assault on Shi Hao while Fairy Yuechan duels Chen Xin. His strategy relies on Shrek fighters attacking Shi Hao directly while other allies attempt a flank attack and rescue the captured Yu Xiaogang and Ma Hongjun. 39

Retreat from Tiandou

The Willow Deity’s arrival breaks the resistance’s will to fight. Tang San, terrified by his previous defeat at her hands, withdraws with the surviving Shrek and Tang Sect forces. Yu Xiaogang and Ma Hongjun remain captured as Tang San promises to return for them. 44 45

Dungeon Rescue Mission

After Nightingale obtains intelligence on the imperial dungeon, Tang San postpones his immediate journey to Sea God Island and selects Zhu Zhuqing for a covert rescue mission. He excludes the other Shrek members to preserve secrecy and avoid alerting Fairy Yuechan. 65

Tang San and Zhu Zhuqing kill the dungeon guards and enter the prison. Enraged by Yu Xiaogang’s degradation, Tang San breaks open his cell with the Clear Sky Hammer, kills the jailer using the Character-Breaking Technique, massacres the fleeing prisoners with Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, and rescues his teacher. 72 73

Second Confrontation with Shi Hao

Outside the imperial palace, Tang San confronts Shi Hao after declaring that his Soul Power has fully recovered. He tries the Divine Slaughter’s Domain, Clear Sky Hammer techniques, Purple Demon Divine Light, Blue Silver Entanglement, Blue Silver Overlord Spear, Invincible Golden Body, and several hidden weapons, but none overcome Shi Hao. 75 76 77 80 83 84

Shi Hao and Huo Ling’er leave Tang San severely injured and unable to resist. Tang San tries to make Yu Xiaogang submit to their demands in his place, but Huo Ling’er refuses to spare him on those terms. Tang San ultimately survives by enduring further humiliation and escaping with Ma Hongjun. 85 86 87

Sea God Island Pursuit

After escaping the palace, Tang San resolves to travel to Sea God Island and obtain the Sea God inheritance, believing godhood is necessary to overcome Shi Hao, Fairy Yuechan, and the Willow Deity. 65 90 91

Upon returning to Shrek Academy, he conceals the truth of his defeat by claiming Shi Hao ambushed him during the rescue mission. Flender gives him a map to Sea God Island, and Tang San intends to depart with the Shrek Seven Devils after recovering. 92
