Background

System accounts once portrayed Heaven as an active force in history: Qin Shi Huang’s death during the Southern Inspection Tour was described as occurring after Heaven abandoned him and the world rose in rebellion according to Heaven’s will. 396

The Five Elders later revealed that the Pangu Mainframe had guided humanity’s entry into the Forging the Sacred Court world. They believed that its consciousness—identified by them as Pangu’s consciousness or “Heaven”—had begun fading two or three years earlier and completely lost control during Xiao Ying’s Kingdom Ascension Ceremony. The Mainframe continued operating by instinct, sustaining life through its green light, but could no longer communicate. 1020

During Great Huan’s ascension ceremony, an apocalyptic heavenly phenomenon interrupted the rite. A system-wide farewell announced that the Heavenly Dao was collapsing and its origin was sinking; blood rain followed, while system notifications, rewards, and attribute panels vanished. After surviving the lightning strike and receiving ancestral visions, Jian Shang declared that Heaven had died. 909

Functions

Heavenly Punishment

Heavenly Punishment was the final response to power deemed intolerable to Heaven and Earth. A target would first be warned and locked by heavenly might; if their power was not sealed or weakened, heavenly wrath and punishment followed. Its force was described as the power of the entire world. 998

Following Heaven’s death, this process persisted as an instinctive mechanism rather than the action of a conscious, favor-granting will. 1056

World-Law Feedback

The Game Dragon Ring system operated through the laws of Heaven and Earth. When an Otherworlder killed a being, the victim’s condensed power returned to Heaven and Earth, which in turn fed back a portion of that power to the ring’s bearer. 1022

Game Dragon Rings were created from the Mending-Heaven Divine Stone and Pangu’s remnant soul. The former enabled feedback from slain opponents, while the latter pierced spatial crystal walls, located coordinates, and drew in souls and bodies. 1022

The Mainframe’s Remaining Instinct

After the loss of its consciousness, the Pangu Mainframe retained limited instinctive functions, including sustaining life and extending longevity through green light. It could no longer be contacted or directed. 1020

Legacy

Heaven’s death did not mean that Pangu World became inert. A new World Will emerged afterward, described as childlike and instinct-driven rather than as the former Heaven itself. Its primary impulse was to repair flaws in Heaven and Earth. 1605 1747

The newborn World Will rejected Descended Immortal Gods as foreign disruptors, resisted divine senses probing beyond the Heaven-Earth Crystal Wall, and initially suppressed Xiao Ying’s attempt to observe the entire world through the Eye of the Three Realms. After Xiao Ying argued that his purpose was to protect Pangu World, it permitted him to conduct the survey through the Heaven-Earth Bell. 1605

At the end of that survey, the World Will appealed directly to Xiao Ying for salvation:

“Save me… Save this world…” 1605

• Pangu — The Five Elders equate Heaven with Pangu’s consciousness; Pangu’s remnant soul was also a component of the Game Dragon Rings. 1020 1022
• Pangu Mainframe — Its apparent consciousness was believed to be Heaven; after that consciousness died, the Mainframe continued only through instinct. 1020
• Pangu World — Heaven’s former domain. Its later-born World Will is distinct from the dead Heaven and acts chiefly to preserve the world’s balance. 1605 1747
• Xiao Ying / Jian Shang — Jian Shang declared Heaven dead and swore to lead humanity against the immortals and Buddhas. Xiao Ying later gained conditional cooperation from Pangu World’s new World Will. 909 1605
• Otherworlders — Their Game Dragon Rings depended on Heaven-and-Earth feedback, though their special traits continued after Heaven’s death because of the rings’ underlying nature. 1022
